Thanks for the support. When I stepped on the scale this AM it was the best feeling. I weight once a week so it was a nice surprise (3 pounds down this week too, when I've been only losing about 1 a week lately.)

My surgeon gave me a reprieve from the full 10 days in the liquid diet. I was in vacation for 2 weeks got home on a Saturday started the diet in Sunday and had surgery on Thursday. I had an amazing recovery (I'm 3 weeks out). Because I had a bmi of 40 and am a lower weight patient starting at 223. He said it would be fine. I had a really active vacation and didn't over eat in it I think it helped.
Check in with your doc and maybe there's a modification to the liquid diet he would allow- like no sugar or low carb. Just a thought...

I was starving the other day- I got stuck in denver buying a car and had to rush to pick up my daughter from work at mcdonalds. She brought a hamburger into the car and I asked if I could have a tiny bite. Big mistake! Within minutes I had to rush to the bathroom- Tmi- I'm not constipated anymore. That went on evening. Note to self- no mcdonalds!

@kurigotmoxie I've added you to the challenge! Welcome!

    @Pam_2-06-2017 You will break through!

@konalisa80It's only a pound! It could only be Water weight! Move on and down!

@Torriluv87No problem! It's never too late to begin again. Every day is a new beginning, heck every meal is a new beginning. You can never go so off course that you can't find your way back. I also feel like I wasted or lost my honeymoon period but a lot of that was with my complications and having to take TPN infusions instead of eating for several months. All we can do is take a deep breath, let it out slow, and say today I will do this, today I will be on track. This is not an easy road and it will be something I struggle with for a lifetime. But I know I will never let myself get back to 540 pounds. I have slip ups but they are minor and alll I can do is start again the next meal.

So sorry that happened to you.
I think Pasta is a food that should maybe never be eaten post-surgery. It just fills our sleeves up with no real nutrition. Try zucchini noodles instead once you are approved for soft foods. They taste great and you wont even miss the pasta.

Zucchini noodles? Never tried them before. Do you make them or buy them already made? I love pasta dishes and love zucchini so definitely gonna try it once I'm ready for that stage.

Anyone else neevous? I'm doing what I'm supposed to and I think I'm okay but I keep freaking out about getting a leak or a blood clot. Any little pain in my legs puts me in a panic attack. I'm driving my husband nuts I'm sure. I just hate feeling off.

Had mine 6/27. Gas is better now. Stopped taking pain meds and got more Water in today, seems to have helped a lot. Still have not had a BM at all. Maybe I'll call dr tomorrow and ask about taking something for that.

Yeah the not drinking with meals is hard. I used to drink like 3 sweet teas when we would go out for dinner. Now I literally time my last bite can't wait to have my water. I feel thirsty all the time I'm definitely getting in my 64 ozs.

I can see this thread is mostly dead, but I still struggle and I wrote this today so I am sharing.
First, I have to admit the surgery worked. The quantity of food I can consume has definitely been muted but the cravings for junk or more specifically for fast food remain and are as strong as ever. Today I purposefully packed enough food for lunch and dinner knowing I would not make it home in time for dinner today. Instead of being done and moving on with life, I took it as a personal challenge to eat all I packed so I could go out for dinner. It doesn't help I was bored at work today and will be all week.
It's no secret I "use" food. But for what? Why? I don't get the "high" I used to get when I ate. Now it's more of a slight pain and it mostly uncomfortable and unpleasant. My version of overeating doesn't match most other peoples definition of overeating, but I'm still doing it. I'm not saying the surgery didn't work. I am saying I'm not using my tool correctly. A recent x-ray confirmed it's there and looks great. I actually was worried I had stretched it out and blown my chance. But even with that knowledge, I am still playing around with it. But I got food when I wasn't hungry and while I didn't eat much of it (thankfully), it shouldn't have been ordered in the first place.
I have all the best tools in my arsenal. Knowledge of what I should eat. Surgical restriction, to aid in Portion Control. Moral direction, to know what is right and what is wrong. Family support. Where do I go next? What am I missing? So here I sit. Clueless about what my problem is and how to best proceed. I'm a counselor and have been through all the reasons I think I eat. None of them are earth shattering or overly complicated to solve.

Missy161 got a reaction from scooterbyrd in long term sleevers question--weight gain over time?
That is true. I have a lot of trouble with the bile ducts in my livers my surgeon said no one I. Their right mind would do a rny on me but the sleeve would be fine- with rny they wouldn't be able to get to the bile ducts to clean them out. Hopefully the weight loss will alleviate my duct problem - I have no gall bladder but still make stones that get stuck in the bile ducts of my liver...excruciating!

Everyone is different, I never had nausea either or any other complications and I am losing just fine. It also took me a week to lose the 9 pounds I gained in the hospital... keep it up!
