Someone asked me today actually and I said "oh you know, it's not rocket science, less calories in than out!". She said "ya, I know". That was it.

    55.4lbs gone!
    Started at 250lbs & 5'8
I'm down to 194.6. Would like to hit 170 and then decide from there if I'd like to go any farther.
Couldn't be happier though! All of the stalls are so worth it.

OK so I tried the zoodles again today with a new recipe. I had them cold this time, no salt. I spiralized a zucchini, mixed in 3.5 oz of chicken, and 60 grams of basil pesto sauce and ate it cold.
    AMAZING!
It was absolutely delicious and totally filling. Looking forward to having it again soon.

Hey sorry I haven't posted in so long, didn't realize it's been over a month, a LOT has happened, I think I may have posted in another thread about it, but I should keep up with the updates here too!
First, I made it to ONEderland! That was amazing. I've been fluctuating slightly between the 1's and 2's but that's fine, a little plateau isn't going to hurt me, and the last few days it's started going down again which is awesome.
Had a non-weight related life changing experience in May, I unexpectedly lost my job which was rough, and I was worried it would affect my weight loss but didn't even slow it down! My wife went looking for a job and found a great one with health benefits which was the most important thing we wanted, and I started my own business which is actually doing quite well. At the pace I'm at I may earn more this year than I would have at my old job so maybe it was a blessing in disguise.
And a HUGE non-scale victory yesterday. I took my family to an amusement park for the first time since surgery, and I fit comfortably on every ride for the first time in a LONG time. That felt really great being able to ride with my kids and not worry about being embarrassed about squeezing in or needed some kind of extender or something.
I'm .6 (that's POINT 6) away from my initial arbitrary goal of 197, hopefully will hit it soon, and then on to my more extreme goal of 179, which is possible.
Hope everyone is doing well, I'll try not to stay away so long next time!!

I was sleeved on 6/1/17 & other than the gas monster after surgery I have been pain free with zero indigestion. I was truly afraid pre surgery but now I'm 6 weeks out and I feel like a million bucks[emoji6]

My doctor (and other posters) said the Gas-x strips won't do anything. Maybe it's the placebo effect.

I was starving the other day- I got stuck in denver buying a car and had to rush to pick up my daughter from work at mcdonalds. She brought a hamburger into the car and I asked if I could have a tiny bite. Big mistake! Within minutes I had to rush to the bathroom- Tmi- I'm not constipated anymore. That went on evening. Note to self- no mcdonalds!

You are right. It is not their business! I came to the decision about surgery when I had tried every diet known to man and failed over and over. Sure, I lost some weight, but it always came back.
My surgery for a VSG is on 7/25/17. This has been quite a journey. Over 6 months. Started with the insurance and received approval right away! I have comorbidities like, high blood pressure, pre diabetes and fatty liver (which are all supposed to reverse with this. My starting weight was 315 and I am 4 days into the pre surgery liquid diet for 2 weeks (aaaaaaahhhhh!) and I am already 300! so that is positive reenforcement! I want to get to 150 and we shall see!!!
Are you planning any plastic surgery? I think a Tummy Tuck will be something I will save for. You can't do any surgery until you are at or almost at goal weight 1 to 2 years down the line. I had cesareans for my 2 children and they say that makes the tummy tuck easier. Also upper arms and loose skin. I am swimming every day and after surgery will do the treadmill. Wish me luck!

When people ask who I don't feel like sharing my surgery with I tell them that I am doing Portion Control, high Protein, low carb, clean eating and hitting the gym. That satisfies most peoples questions and many are like I'm going to try that. My hubby followed that plan, no surgery and dropped 64 pounds so it's possible.

I think she was just being attentive and trying to make sure you were satisfied. My first meal, technically, was minestrone broth on my layover when I flew home from surgery. But my first actual meal in a restaurant with friends was quiche, I just didn't eat the crust. And it was like 4 bites. Ha. My friend Jill who is a loudmouth (god love her) demanded to know why I wasn't eating and I told her I just ate a little bit before and wasn't really hungry yet. Took the quiche home and it lasted me the whole week. I save so much money on food now!

My husband had rny 11 years ago. Spaghetti still bothers him sometimes- at first he couldn't eat it at all for the same reason. I was sleeved 3 weeks ago too and I'm thinking Pasta maybe one of those things that are off limits like soda:
I too cheated yesterday and ate a small slice of pizza. I chewed the heck out of it and I didn't get sick. I emotionally feel bad- I had been totally low carb and now I feel like I blew it. I'm back in the wagon today!
I kept my calories under 600 for the day which is the highest say so far. I just saw the slippery slip that it took me to. Feeling angry with myself. I wasn't even that hungry, it just looked so good!

Sunneadow, what do your surgeon and nutritionist say is the issue? I think you are right, if you are eating so few calories and exercising why in the world wouldn't you lose weight? There has to be something else going on. Are you tracking every morsel and sip? I think I'd be sitting on my doctors doorstep if this were happening to me!

Two alternatives- get a spiralizer and make your own zucchini noodles, and learn to cook spaghetti squash. It's not exactly the same but it's tasty healthy and low cal.

I consider my premier shakes a meal and separate them too. If nothing else, than for like what Missy161 said, discipline reasons or staying in the habit. But if you puree your chunky Soup, then that should be a meal together. Like cream of potato soup with skim milk, I added canned chicken and some fresh baked butternut squash, then blend it up just enough for mainly drinking.
