Take a robe and comfy easy on/off slippers to the hospital. You have to walk and its cold in the hospital. Walk even when you don't feel like it, it really helps. Also a small pillow is awesome between you and the seatbelt. I used it for about a week or so. I think that I was well prepared for surgery but the pain that most people experienced I did not have. I had surgery on Wednesday and went back to work on Monday.

I just had my 3 month post op and I am down about 40lbs. I have about 50lbs to go to reach my goal weight. I am doing pretty good overall as I have had no issues post op and can eat whatever I want without issue which is nice. I workout about 5 days a week so that I can keep toning while the weight comes off. My least favorite part is the plateaus but I’m learning to not get as frustrated with them lol

I hit my goal weight this Saturday, 9/30. Sunday was my 14 month post-op mark.

Here's my before & after as of this morning--sorry for the undies:

At 300lbs, I thought 170/5'11" was ambitious but now that I'm here I think I could stand to lose another 20-30lbs. I THINK a lot of it is loose skin (my thighs are now made of pugs), but honestly I can't really tell, maybe I'm just making excuses for still being tubby lol. When is too early to start looking into plastics?? (not that I could afford it but a girl can dream....)
Having a personal moment of silence for my booty disappearing. You will be missed. Thank you for being a sacrifice to the weight loss deities.
That's all I got, just wanted to share this victory with someone

Hey surgery pals! I'm doing great. They kept me an extra day because of vomiting from anesthesia but everything has been smooth sailing since. I'm slowly introducing purees now, but haven't had any food intolerances until this point. Last I weighed I was 20lbs down, but that was 5 days ago so I'm not sure now.

I don't think so. I don't have to sip either. I can take pretty decent swallows. I just think its less swelling than others may have post op. Thankful for that because it has gotten easier everyday but I know my stomach is different but just adapting pretty well. You'll probably notice it more once you go to solids since liquid goes through so quickly.

Good for you diet pills are terrible. Way to many dangerous side affects in many of them.

Wow thats great! I usually have 1 to 2 shakes per day but I supplement with high Protein yogurt which I add additional Protein Powder to and I also have broth and add protein powder to it. Sometimes I get tired of the sweetness of the shakes so I try to get protein in other ways. Only my large incision os sore but otherwise have not had any other issues and life is pretty normal. I'm glad you're doing well!

I started driving day 2 post op. I never took any pain meds once I left the hospital and that was the only stipulation for driving that I received.

The 'you're not that big' line kills me. Big enough to be overweight check! Big enough for heart disease check! Good grief

I finally had the courage to talk to my new GP about WLS a week ago. That's the first thing that came outta his mouth. I didn't even respond. I just lifted my shirt and showed him how big my gut really was underneath those clothes. I then told him my BMI, he proceeded to weigh me because he didn't believe me, and finally agreed. He did try to sell me the idea of more dieting and prescribing me some weight loss pills though. Sheesh!

Today I weighed in 8 days post op 30 lbs lighter. I'm down 30 lbs it was empowering. I finally was cleared to walk on tredmill and ride bike at gym so I went to my gym and did a 30 minute bike ride and then had to run to the mall to buy a summer dress for my best friends engagement party in 2 weeks and I was one full size down. This is literally only ONE week post op.

I'm onto puréed foods as well and for dinner tonight I got to purée a bean chili with fat free sour cream and a little fat free Mexican cheese. My ninja made it so smooth and it was beyond delicious. My biggest incision where they removed the stomach is the only one that is sore but my doctor said that's normal.

I'm loving life!!!!! Love sharing our journeys Xo

I've heard that some people don't enjoy some foods the same or either don't tolerate them the same. This is in the context of foods that you are supposed to have not high fat/sugar stuff. Has anyone had this issue? Which foods are a no-no for you now?

My tastes have completely changed. I no longer can tolerate eggs or rice of any kind and that includes foods that have egg in it, such as potato salad...etc...
