I used have a theory The particles,of weight loss are like oil droplets they float through the air looking for a likely body to glomn onto. That's why ,I have a big bad rump, I was facing👤 into the wind during a windstorm, and I'm a victim of FALLOUT!✋

I'm actually planning on having this done this July and just had my first consult. I'm excited. He's only planning on doing the 360 lower body lift and my cost will be $12,000. Those who paid $15,000, did you have another procedure done with it?

I have had the loop-ds/said-s over a year and a half ago... I had serious diarrhea for the first year post op... it has now considerably slowed down but it still happens a few times per week, especially I noticed if my carb count is higher than 15% of my overall consumption in my fitness pal for the day. Carbs really are the devil for me!! They make me extremely bloated and gassy as well!

Update: 20 weeks. Down approx 36lbs.
Overall, I'm pleased. Slow and steady wins the race, and so far - knock on wood - things just keep headed in the correct direction; i.e. no re-lapse.
I admit that it could be even better if I cleaned up some habits. I still eat fast food on the regular, and I was drinking A LOT of beer. I'm in the process of trying to cut back on the alcohol, so am excited to see what happens without an extra 1000 empty calories a day....

I'm 55 years old and also had a revision from a lap band to the duodenal switch. It's been the best decision I've ever made for my health. I spent one day in the hospital and within two weeks I was running around doing errands. I've got my confidence back too. It's a great feeling to reach for the size in the middle or front of the rack instead of at the very back or at the bottom of the pile. Sometimes when I look in the mirror it's hard to believe it's really me. But it is!

Man, take two inches off my height, and give or take a month, and I feel like I'm your surgery twin. I'm also a little over half way to goal. I, too, was a doubter this would work for me because I failed so miserably on the lap-band. I'm going at a snail's pace at about a pound and a half a week, but I haven't had a stall yet. Everything you expressed is exactly how I feel. I eat much less than I used to, but I'm not starving and I know this is a new lifestyle I can live with. I'm so very happy I did this for myself.

I'm 56. My beginning weight was 282. I had 6 months of supervised diet, 5 meetings with psychologist and surgery on 4/5/18. Today I am 201. I have finally learned food is fuel, not entertainment. I feel so much better and am so much more active. I have had a few stalls. I realized I need to drink half my weight of Water in ounces every day to lose weight (100 oz.). I have also changed up my exercise from walking and the gym to now swimming. I have a swim coach that is teaching me proper form and he is kicking my body into shape. Best decision of my life!!!!

@George OG Check out "SmilinsShrinking" on You Tube. She had a total body lift in Mexico with Dr. Sauceda and sings his praises. She even video taped an interview with him a few days after her surgery. She's very open with her before and after pics, so there is a ton of information about the kind of surgery you're looking for if you watch her videos. Her name is Joni.

No, no. Have been going there 2 years and never was asked to fill out a survey. As I wrote in a previous comment, I have already written a letter to the surgeon & practice manager. Thanks

I like the NitroTech Performance Series Protein Powder that my husband gets on bodybuilding.com. I've had chocolate, mocha Cappuccino swirl, vanilla, and cinnamon swirl flavors - all pretty good.
How do you mix your Protein Shakes? Have you tried adding different things to enhance the flavor?
Sometimes I might mix in a tsp of unsweet cocoa for a darker chocolate flavor, or 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, or one of the sugar free Torani flavors. If you like coffee, you can mix some instant Decaf in or some brewed coffee for an iced Protein coffee - soooo good!
To keep me satisfied longer I will mix a half cup of greek yogurt, or unsweetened soy milk or almond milk with ice and blend it. (I just choose one to keep the calories low.)
You can get back on track, just make a plan and make it happen. Remember, the first few days will be the hardest, but you will see results and feel better, then it will get easier.

Had late dinner tonight, Hay Fever kicking my rump, don't feel good. Made scrambled eggs with shredded lowfat cheese. Neither eggs or cheese on my 1000 calorie liver-shrinking diet, can I at least rationalize eggs are Protein. He had the majority, I took 3/4 to a cupful. Still filled me up enough. Tomkitten will always eat scrambled eggs!

Now that's my kind of cheat!
Most of my "cheats" are meal choices. But one of my few snack cheats was a Grandma's Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies. I used to LOVE those in my 20's. So, I was in a convenience store. Not usually a problem, I'm in them regularly. But the person in front of me in line grabbed a pack and I. just. could. not. resist.

I ate a small bowl,of 1 half 🍑 (water packed) with 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese, as sins go a minor pale-gray one. Excuse? I'm mourning Aretha Franklin? I don't think she's really in any position to rebuke me for it anyway.

I ate an entire small bag of nutter-butters today. I donated blood, and OF COURSE, I needed to make sure I didn't get woozy, don'tch know? At lease I had Water instead of Gatorade And yes, I wrote them down in my log!
This was actually the first time I have ever gotten dizzy donating blood. Glad I did it at work and didn't have to drive home from a blood center. I was still fine to drive an elevator!

I'm reading people's confessions about eating two chicken nuggets, some fried rice from Panda Express, or maybe a little candy, and I'm thinking to myself that I'm the cheater of cheaters because all of this sounds so mild compared to my cheats. This is embarrassing, but here it goes: I polished off an entire Big Mac yesterday. Yep. Don't ask me how my stomach fit it all in because usually I can't eat that much, but I was hungry. Didn't drink with it or have anything else with it, but polished that sucker off all by myself. That's a first since my surgery a year ago. A part of me feels I should be terrified I was able to do that. I'm not doing it again because that's what got me where I was before my surgery. Yes, I feel ashamed.

    You are very welcome.
When I first came here many years ago. It was he only site I found where I could see and get help for my worries. And the people on this site were a great support.
Back then people posting here gave me such great help - That I still come back to 'pay-it-forward' by offering any help I can to others. One person - She gave me one sentence that held fast through all my surgeries....... I trained my family to say this to me at every 'wobble' I had through fear of the surgeries, fear of pain etc etc
She said ''Keep your eyes on the prize''
And I will never forget those words and I will always be grateful to her for being there for me :-)
Keep us updated on your progress. I am not here every day these days - But every now and then I pop back to see what's happening - lol
    Good Luck.

Wow, Matt, you were really quick on your reply! You even grabbed my typos before I could correct them. I think I was really surprised that the first surgeon I went to didn't even suggest the abdominoplasty without muscle repair. I left his office feeling so deflated, but the next morning I started rethinking things and searched for other options. I'm interested to see what this second surgeon says. One thing is for sure, I didn't feel confident in the first surgeon. This other option should have at least been discussed.
