  1. Hello everyone, I am getting a revision from a sleeve in 2017 to a bypass next month due to GERD. I've also gained some weight back (covid messed with my routine so much! and I got married in a small outdoor service so planning that during a pandemic was very stressful). I've been told not to expect as much weight loss after my revision, which is fine as I lost 100 lbs the first time around and have only gained about half that. Acid reflux relief is the goal this time but I wouldn't mind getting back to my goal number. I was also told to expect more dumping symptoms and food sensitivities. Did other people experience those as well?
  2. I'm so sorry to hear that! Hopefully your surgery will help with the symptoms! When are you scheduled?
  3. Same issue here. I had the sleeve in 2017 and the acid reflux is so bad I can't lose weight. The only things that temporarily help the symptoms (even while on meds) are bread and milk...so not great for weight loss. Hard to tell if some of the weight I've put on (i lost 100 lbs with the sleeve and have gained half of it back, mostly during covid with being so sedentary) are making the symptoms worse. Were your GERD issues resolved after the surgery? Did you have any symptoms with your revision? Any changes to what you can tolerate food wise? Mine is scheduled in July and hoping I can move past this pain/discomfort I've had for over a year and get to a place of healthy weight maintenance.
  4. I drank the isopure everyday when I was on the liquid diet. During the soft stage enjoyed bariatricpal's chocolate protein pudding. Just a packet I added fairlife milk too and gave me tons of protein. Now that I'm about a month post op I drink one Atkins mocha latte shake as a replacement for morning coffee (which I can get on Amazon's subscribe & save which makes it affordable). As far as trying different proteins, Quest has sample single packs you can buy from their website. I picked one or two each and had them sent to my house and I think they were about $2 each. Plus Quest does protein chips and protein bars which are tasty and worth a look. AND later when you are having cravings their Cheat Clean cookbook has tons of ideas for high protein amd low sugar options. Best of luck! Sent from my LG-K371 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any August 2017 Sleevers?

Oh no! I am only on day 5 (had surgery on Tues) and haven't tried coffee yet. Handling protein shake, yogurt, and broth well. Trying a popsicle now. Still learning what "full" feels like but was planning to give coffee a try later today. Now I'm worried I should give it some moee time before trying. I switched to decaf months ago but am scared to be sick now that my post surgery nausea is under control. Best of luck to everyone on their experimentation!

On my way to the hospital

I'm doing much better. They finally got my naseoua under control and that made all the difference. I was released last night and was excited to be home But of course now Houston is expecting a hurricane and my well laid out recovery plan has gone out the window. I have to figure out where I'm willing to evacuate to since the roommates who were going to be my caretakers this week are leaving town. Perfect timing! So other than all this drama I'm trying to focus on my liquids and staying hydrated. I dont know what full feels like yet so still not pushing things. Glad to hear you are doing better.

On my way to the hospital

Its been really rough. Lots of nausea and dry heaving (which makes my incisions hurt a lot). They have tried like 5 different meds and now its toned down but not gone. Finally getting in some broth since I only had ice chips up till now. I heard from a lot of people day two is worse and I am praying that's not true for me. Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes, I can use all the help I can get.

On my way to the hospital

Having my sleeve this morning here in Houston, have to be there 5:30am. As of this morning I've lost 38 lbs since starting all the prep testing and whatnot. Ive checked off all my to-do items so I guess that means I'm as prepared as I can be. Wish me luck! Sent from my LG-K371 using BariatricPal mobile app

lundamelmar I'm so sorry! My heart just broke for you. I have two weeks of all liquid diet and i'm counting the minutes until it's over. I'm on day 7 and it's better than the beginning but still...to add another week on *shudder* sorry buddy! cherbear416 I hear you! I have my first therapy session tomorrow. eek! I know I need it to deal with my baggage with food but I can't say I'm looking forward to it. and trying to stay sane while on this liquid diet at work and everyone bringing in all this amazing smelling food. Plus I'm an over organizer so I have lists of cleaning and to do's to finish before next week! Where are you having your surgery?
