Cat64 got a reaction from RomAnca in Im SOO HUNGRY! How are you making it through?
It is tough, but you can do it. I had Jello or broth when I was hungry. You are almost there. I do agree that the pre-op diet phase is the hardest.

You need to look for a Protein that is whey isolate. It breaks it further down than just whey and is way more gentle on the tummy. I bought mine at GNC

Cat64 reacted to TheBearguy8 in CIPRO and related warnings to everyone
I am working my way through something nearly disastrous. There is a reason I am posting this for WLS patients
Cipro, Levaquin, are known a fluoroquinolones. These are not "typical" antibiotics and are used for more serious bacterial infections. I had a suspected UTI, and the emergency room gave me Cipro, and I had taken it before so I was not alarmed. Taken before surgery successfully with no problems except some stomach upset.
The pharmacist gave me a big speech about the sun, and nothing else I remembered. That's not the speech they should give. On day 3 my urologist went nuts and said stop taking Cipro immediately. I had taken it for 72 hours and seemed fine, with leg pain I didn't connect. Well the next week was hell. My Achilles tendons, joints and entire body went into some sort of crazy shock - and you don't think of an antibiotic doing that.
I am of the belief that post surgery, Vitamin absorption changes, dietary nutrients changes, it made me susceptible to what happened. I take Vitamins as instructed, but the body has changed. Here is the important part if you are reading this. MANY PEOPLE'S DAMAGE IS IRREVERSIBLE! I was horrified when I read the stories of doctors insisting patients finish the course of Cipro/Levaquin treatment while they were losing their ability to even walk. My legs are my life and career, this was a near disaster.
Our new bodies may present a new issue and I want any WLS patients to ask questions and be very careful. Side effects can fade away, but tendonitis, and joint injuries from this are often - often - PERMANENT.

Cat64 reacted to paradise in Anyone sleeve the week of 6/25?
I had Gastric Bypass on June 27. I don't have any problems getting fluids down.
My Dr has me drink one oz of Water every fifteen minutes. I look forward to the 1oz of cream of wheat and pudding. I don't think I get hungry it's probably head hunger. I am adding more 1 oz Protein Shake shots today.
My pain is mostly from gas. I hope my surgery worked. It's weird that I am not experiencing what everyone else is.
Is anyone else getting their fluids down no problem?

Pillows pillows pillows. That's how I did it. My incision is on my right side and that's the side I sleep on. Wasn't able to sleep on that side till day 7 but used a pillow to relive the pressure. I'm nine days out now. Getting better. Sleeved on 6/22/17

I had my surgery on the 6/26 and the first 2 days were brutal. I cried, I regretted the surgery, I was angry, nauseous, in pain, afraid to drink... all of the possible cons that you could think of I dealt with, but thankfully all of that has subsided ! The biggest thing I recommend is making sure to take your recommended antacids and gas medicine. The pain I thought was from my incisions was mostly gas pain. So getting up and walking around, and getting off my pain medicine is what helped me the most, because I could better determine what type of pain I was feeling. Also get on the scale, in just 6 days I've lost 11lbs. Seeing the weight drop so quickly has made those tough days worth it.
