I logged your food in MyfitnessPAL (free food log app) Download food log here I hope you choose to log. It is the best tool ever. Logging helps to see if you are fueling your body correctly. It's also a motivator. At the end of the day it will tell you....If every day was like today you will weigh X amount in 5 weeks.
this is an estimate i don't have your exact amounts of food, what you ate for supper or food brands.
1 breakfast sausage link winco 95 calories .5g carbs 1 large egg fried 120 calories .4g carbs 1 oz cheddar cheese 110 calories 0. carbs 1 pop tart toaster pastry 200 calories 37g carbs 1/2 white bread . 70 calories 14.g carbs 1 tablespoon olive oil mayo kraft 35 calories 2g carb3 4 oz winco deli turkey 90 calories 1.5 carbs 10 potato chips 150 calories 14 carbs SUPPER GUESSTIMATE: 2 0z grilled chicken breast 120 calories 0 carbs 2 oz french green Beans 13 calories 2 g carbs 1 dinner roll 176 calories 29.5 carbs 1 Jello sugar free pudding cup 60 calories 10g carb total of 795 calories 61g Protein 58g carbohydrates 34 fats 21 sugars
I'm saying this because I care and I want to see you successful long term. (If you don't change over to healthy foods you are going to feel regret when you don't see the results you want)
I'm not sure what your bariatric diet instructions are. You might want to check with your dietician.
This is what I see that is making you hungry: Carbohydrates and sugar will slow or stop your weight loss. Once you eat carbs and sugar you crave them more. Time to detox off them.
My dieticians instructions that may help with your hunger and to fuel your body for weight loss.
Exercise, Water, protein 60 to 100 grams. Plant based carbs. Keep carbs low (no potato bread, baked goods, crackers, chips, fries ) 3 meals with 2 Snacks for the day. Spreading your food out 6 meals a day will help with hunger.
4 oz Lean meats, (protein shakes, bars, Quest chips) sugar substitute (no sugar) Vegetables are your carb source eat as much as you want with your protein. the Fiber will help you feel full longer.cheese and sugar free yogurt. fruit in small amounts (avoid apples and bananas for now they are high in carbs)
Getting your water in will help with weight loss. Drink 30 mins after your meal. This will help with hunger.
After you lose 75% of your weight you will add healthy low glycemic carbs to slow /stop weight loss for maintaining your weight.
healthy low glycemic carbs: two tablespoons brown rice, sweet potato, whole wheat Pasta and bread
If I have left out anything I hope others will add more suggestions.

As the post said above, I would look into a nutritionist. When I was in the early stages of going for my surgery, I had to pay 300 dollars for lifetime support if I need it, I am not sure if that is offered everywhere. It is still not to late to reel yourself back in! Count your calories and food and look into leslie sansone! Her exercises are on youtube and I have been using them since I started this and I am down almost 100 on my own before surgery. You just have to stay dedicated! I know it is hard, but exercise at night when the kiddos are in bed if you have to!

I lost 230 lbs, but admittedly I worked my a$$ off to do it. Many people at 300+ don't make it to normal weight - but losing 100 or 150 lbs is still a spectacular loss! I agree with the above poster - I might look into a DS if I were in your situation. You may need the malabsorption.

TJS reacted to Introversion in So i am 6 weeks out and have not lost very much and everyone i know in the same sitation keep losing 4 to 7 lbs a week ..
You can't compare your rate of weight loss to others...
What was your starting weight? Typically, the lower your starting weight, the slower your rate of weight loss is.
I had also lost about 19 pounds at 6 weeks out. With the exception of the first 2 months, all of my monthly losses had been single digit (1 to 7 pounds a month).
It took me 17 months to lose 100 pounds. Although I was a slow loser, I'm dancing on a cloud because this is the first realistic chance I have of keeping the weight off.
You see, it doesn't matter how rapidly or slowly you lose. What really matters is keeping it off for life. What's the point of losing 30+ pounds a month like a house on fire, only to regain a couple of years from now?
    Good luck to you.

Doubts... I know you're not supposed to look at the scale every day, but I have been. (Don't lecture me.) Today (day 9) was the first day I didn't lose weight. Most days it's been down more than a pound, but this morning my number actually went up a tick. Do we call this the Day 9 Stall? For the first time I feel the fear that I've already gone as far as I will.

Also, I'm wondering if my surgeon made my sleeve too big. I can eat a whole can of Soup (cream of chicken with one can's worth of Water added) easily in one setting. Not feeling the restriction. Worried now that I'll never lose much beyond this.

I was just sleeved on Oct 18, 2017. I am a white male, 46 years old, 5' 8", and a devout follower of Christ. My highest weight ever was 270. I lowered this slowly during the first half of 2017 to 255 when I signed up for the surgery. In August I started my life reset in preparation for surgery and followed the pre-op diet. I started running a lot and was doing 1-2 miles most days, and 6.55 miles on weekends. I ran a 5K the Saturday before surgery. The day of surgery I weighed 232. Now, four days out, my weight is 228. My goal weight is 170, I believe. (Not sure how to decide about that.)
Since surgery I have had a lot of abdominal pain, but it has gotten a little better each day. The night after going home (day after surgery) my calf muscles started hurting. Doctor didn't think it was clots. I started walking a lot and enjoy it quite a bit. I've walked between 6-12 miles each day since I've been home. I only threw up my pain medicine once (which was painful) but haven't thrown up, or even felt like it, since. Each day I reduced the frequency of taking the pain medicine and today went without it. Today my calf pain was almost gone. The first two days after surgery I only drank around 30 oz., I think, which might have contributed to that pain. These last two days I've gotten my 64 oz. down or more.
I've noticed last night and today that food my family was eating looked REALLY good and I wanted to eat it so bad. Felt hungry. This worries me some.
I can't wait until my belly stops hurting and I can start running again. My belly still looks bloated out from the incisions. Wondering when I can expect for that to happen. I also wonder when the reduced hunger pangs are going to happen, if ever. If I feel as tempted as I did today it will be a difficult journey for me.

Also, the only person in my life who knows I've had this surgery is my wife. I haven't told parents, kids, friends or coworkers. My parents expressed opposition a couple years ago so when I made the decision I decided that it was a personal one that they didn't need to know about. But I would like to make a friend or two on here so I can discuss things on this journey.

I just ate my pureed tuna and while everyone else ate the goooood stuff and I was fine. Another huge victory for me was going to the movie!! The best part of the movie for me is the food and I made it just drinking Water with everyone chowing down around me. Super stoked

Yesterday was my four week mark, and I was very nervous because I knew the candy situation. I’m a teacher, and we have Halloween parties, kids bring me special treats, and then there is trick-or-treating at night.
Not only did I make it through alive, I didn’t have one bite of candy. My cravings didn’t exist. I wasn’t even interested when people brought me my own bag of Snickers. This is the most amazing feeling! I can do this!!!
    Have a great day, all!

You are doing great with your weight loss. over 100 down is fantastic. It's normal for weight loss to slow down as you get further out from surgery. A few things to try to break the stall.
Are you logging your food? It's better than guessing your calories and carbs. (myfitnesspal food log app makes it easy)
The amount of food you are able to take in will increase. Try eating protein with as much veggies as you want. The bulk and Fiber will make you feel full. I can eat 4 to 5 oz protein with 8 oz of salad.
Your weight can slow if you are doing the same exercise or same intensity level over and over. HIIT / High intensity interval training works well. Start a pace that you are comfortable for 5 mins. Increase the speed several numbers for 5 mins. Repeat this process for as long as you are on the treadmill. (hope that made sense)
You already know carbs can mess with your weight loss. My dieticians instructions were to add healthy carbs when I lost 75% of my weight to slow or stop my weight loss for maintaining. Your instructions may be different than mine. Follow your dieticians plan.
Salty and sweet cravings happen. Be sure to have healthy options on hand to satisfy cravings.
Example: Salty Jerky or Quest protein chips Sweet yogurt or sugar free pudding with Protein Powder.

You have the option of going to Mexico to have it done. My BMI is over 40, but I am still going to Mexico rather than dealing again with the long and expensive process of going through insurance. I will actually pay less as well because my deductible is $8000. I'll be on a flight headed to BariatricPal Hospital on Saturday morning.

Ok, this is my current flavor flave. I'm crushing on it daily in the afternoon (but I do decaff cuz I'm a wuss). I'm so tight that if you stick a lump of coal up my derriere, in 2 months, you'd have a diamond. So it's very hard for me to go to Starbucks even though I love them.
    Iced Coffee:
12 oz decaff coffee, brewed from fresh
2-4oz Premier Protein (vanilla, chocolate, caramel)
sweeten to taste with zero cal sweetener (I use liquid vanilla stevia)
    1-2 tsp benefiber
ice, lots and lots of ice
