I had 4 hanging racks of shirts a lone that i advertised on FB’s market place. I did open garage sales for just the clothes. Setup pre determined times and dates. Sold all but a dozen items. Make over $600. Might be worth a try.

I suspect we are splitting hairs. But thanks for giving me something to think about besides my terror of gastric bypass! I don't work, so it's fun for me to be challenged a bit rather than surfing the web and watching TV. Stretching the brain feels good!

I have thought the same as another reader, that my higher weight wouldn't allow me to get to a normal weight (362 now, for a 5'3" woman), but your progress gives me hope. Men really seem to drop weight fast but I hope I can too.

I have some bad news for you. No bariatric surgery will cure your medical issues. All it will do is force you to eat less for about a year. Sure, there may be some palette changes, or maybe dairy will suddenly become difficult to digest causing lactose intolerance, or you may develop gerd; but for the most part the surgery doesn't change a person medically speaking. Only the medical conditions brought on by poor diet will be affected by bariatric surgery. (e.g. High BP, diabetes, cholesterol, etc...)
Unless there is a medical condition with the stomach itself, there is nothing that bariatric surgery will cure that diet alone could not as well. The surgery and subsequent honeymoon phase help cement new food habits.

I had RNY on 1/6/18. Something happened that caused me to have massive drainage. That night I had 4 things of plasma. Over the next 2 days, I had 4 blood transfusions. I understand my number was 6.5 and really didn't change much. I was kept in the hospital the entire time- never went to hotel. I had drain removed on 1/11 and sent home. The Fluid is still coming out the drain hole- i soak about 10 maxi pads a day. The staff at Mi Doctor Hospital was kind and took care of me. The asst. doctor checked in on a regular basis , but I felt he couldn't tell me the whole story. Dr. Ortiz came just 3 times, despite my asking to speak with him. I do not feel he was very forthcoming. I still don't understand what happened to make me bleed so much. I have a sister who is a doctor and she is appalled. After 2 transfusions, I would have been back in the OR to fix the bleed. there would have been accountability. I know that I chose to go to Mexico once my new insurance said all bariatric surgery was excluded. What I am so disappointed in is the lack of clear communication by the doctor. I would, therefore, not recommend this company and esp. Dr. Ortiz. I was aware that I would have to pay for "extra" services and I ended up paying close to $1500 for the blood. I do now run the risk of a long recovery (past the 2 weeks I had planned). I also run the risk of infection and the pain of so much leakage.

Simple. Why don't you get off of a Forum where people are roll players and go to FB and find here there. She documents absolutely every thing that is happening to her.

Disecting an individual who is no longer here is hard hitting? Yes. This is the appropriate thing to do on a weight loss forum.
This is getting boring. I have to go on a liquid diet shortly. Talk amongst yourselves disecting this person. I came to this forum to get help. Obviously it isn't the place. It's more a bully board. There are other places. Have a good time here. Bariatric Pal also lost a customer. There are other sites. I will not associate with a site nor a store that propogates hate. Have a good life everybody.

Mine is tentatively scheduled for 1/17, exactly a year after WLS. I currently have a BMI of 22 and body fat percentage of 25%. I reached a BMI of 25 2 months ago and I had wanted to lose some more if the Tummy Tuck is the only procedure I needed. However, it appeared that the lack of volume in the butt (which also existed when I was overweight, caused by genetic factors) was a bigger problem than the abdominal area. In order to do the fat transfer required for a butt lift, I needed to have some fat remaining in the other regions of my body. Most plastics surgeons recommended that I don't lose anymore and a few even recommended gaining 10-15 pounds (apparently it's standard practice for non-bariatric patients). I refuse to purposely try to gain weight on a matter of principle but even maintaining has been hard. I guess that's a good problem to have lol. In the end, it will be touch and go the day of the surgery whether I'm too skinny to get enough fat for the butt so I guess I failed at timing the PS.

I've met with my plastic surgeon and I'm thinking about it - When I have my clothes on, I look fine, except for my arms. The batwings are beyond amazing. And I have another 15 I'd like to lose. I exercise 5-7 hours a week, including competitive fencing so I need to schedule things so as not to screw up my competitive season.
My surgeon says that he would do Tummy Tuck and panni at the same time (which he could get covered by my insurance) and the arms would be another 2 or 4K. Then, he suggested having the girls reduced and hitched up. (At my heaviest, I was a 42J - that J like John). I'm at 36DDD right now - he think's I'd be better off as a C and look more in proportion. Right now, I'm an 8 pants, but after surgery, even if I didn't lose another pound, I'd probably be a 6.
I'm working with a personal trainer to reduce my body fat from about 34% down to about 26% - then I'll really make my decision. The survey needed a "not sure" category in answers.

bahahahaha! I remember that feeling/look! I felt like I could basically roll them up like you would tube socks! *snort* I kinda "accordion folded" them into my bra like a slinky!
Now after my double mastectomy and recon, I long for my old squishy familiar breasts. My mannequin foobs (without nips) stand straight at attention, no matter the position, restraints, time of day...I could basically fly through the air on a trapeze and these babies ain't budgin' por nada! LOL. Ahhhh as Richard Marx sang, "Hold on to the night. Hold onto the mammaries!"

From what I understand, and I’m no expert, is that the bariatric surgery alters the ability to adsorb specific Vitamins and minerals. By increasing the amount of the specific items that we can’t adsorb post surgery, the bariatric vitamins are made for US!
I asked “Well, if I need 5x the Vitamin X, can’t I just take 5 Centrum vitamins?” The nurse responded that you are increasing all of the other vitamins and minerals by 5x as well, and over time they could build up and have a negative effect on our physiology.

Anyone having this difficulty should ask his/her family doctor for a test to make sure there isn't a UTI.
Once I lost about 80lbs, I noticed I started having trouble. I seriously think it's to do with the loss of the fatty tissue, so my urethra is flopping around (getting pinched off). Lol! Ok, so that's just a guess and I'll ask my primary doc about it at my next checkup.

I'm an airline pilot, and we have to get an FAA physical every 6 months . If you don't pass your career is over. I hit 40 BMI, and was just barely pre-diabetic. My FAA medical examiner ( who also had VSG done about 2 years ago) gave me "the talk". He said if I kept going I wasn't going to pass my flight physicals much longer, and my career would be over. That was the kick in the butt I needed.

I'm having a mental melt down in January out of no where I had a seizure for the first time in my life and I'm 40. Two weeks ago I had another seizure while at home, and I came around to EMT's in my home and the sudden overwhelming feeling of wanting to go to sleep just like the first time. I've been on the generic of Keppra since January after having the first seizure. After having the second seizure I'm now taking Keppra twice a day and I'm going through a bunch of tests and everything has come back normal from bloodwork, MRI's CT's and EEG's. I'm now about to do a 24hr EEG and have an MRA to see what is going on. I've never had a seizure before and I've been looking for information about seizures post op sleeve surgery and I've found things that were over 4yrs old and I'm seeking something that is farily recent at least within the last 3yrs. I've become frustrated with not getting any answers and I'm ready to stop seeing the Neuologist and go and see a psychiatrist because the Neuologist isn't giving me any answers. If there is anyone else out there experiencing this PLEASE I'M BEGGING Please respond to this post because I'm starting to feel like I'm going crazy.

For me it's not about not being able to get more calories in, but just not wanting to. I have fallen in a cycle where I may only eat 500 calories in one day and then let loose on Saturday. My tests all come back good though and my doctors doesn't have me on any Vitamins so I guess it's working.

I think that although football players come in all shapes and sizes, that is where I would possibly fit in the best. I used to aspire to be the size of a running back...Maybe Marshawn Lynchish. Now, I would possibly like to have the shape, size, agility and athleticism of a quarterback. Pick one. Either way, I am glad that I am getting away from having the body type of a guard or tackle. lol.

Thanks everyone! The funny thing is I was so pleased with having lost the 16 pounds preop, that I thought I looked pretty good in the day of surgery photo! Lol! I hadn't looked back at that pic until today to post it, and I'm utterly floored!
And to think.. only 3 people have "noticed"! I suppose more may have noticed without saying anything... (I mean, how could they not?).
I do feel SOO much better! Not sure why I have that haggard look around the eyes, maybe too much time spent on Bariatric Pal! Lol.
This is a great "intermission".. since it's halfway through the first year, and I'm ready to start hitting the gym (I haven't to this point). We'll see what my next photo brings in March!

So I'm just over 2 months post. Down 72lbs as of this morning. Feeling amazing. However I am noticing that with my diet being open to whatever food I want, at work I find myself often bored and grabbing a handful of nuts, or a couple 5cent candies, or some Jerky or or or or or....
Before I get the keyboard heroes telling me about this cardinal sin in weight loss. I am still loosing weight drastically (roughly 1.5 lbs a day atm), my calories even with the Snacks sit under 1200cal daily. And I'm likely overthinking it...
I guess I'm asking how some of you with slower jobs/desk jobs handle the old habits like this? My go too is sunflower seeds which keeps me busy and has some pretty awesome Protein surprisingly... But I guess even that is a crutch of the habit.
The mental game I tell yah... learning to be a new person isn't easy... but its worth it...
    Yea, I'm likely overthinking it
