  1. Congrats Melanie! That's such a fantastic milestone. What are you gonna do to celebrate? YOu have to celebrate somehow. You've worked very hard to get where you are and you deserve some "be nice to you" time.
  2. Wow Jaime!!! You look fantastic. Seriously you look about half the size you were before. Way to go!
  3. Yep, made it here. Craved it like crazy but thankfully it wasn't in the house. Had some sugar free pudding and that helped. We are stronger than our cravings!!!!
  4. Think you're right about this. I just checked my food logs for the last several days and it was way up on sodium for most of them. Yesterday I was back down to about 7% of daily requirement. Today has been good so far too. Hoping to get these pounds back off and make some progress soon.
  5. Okay, could someone please tell me how this works? And can anyone tell me that I'm crazy in my belief that it really is so much more than how many calories you take in versus how many you burn? 4 days ago I was at my all time low during this bout of weight loss. I've had a few days of not eating so well, in fact, eating pretty crappy. However, still no where near what I used to eat. I was taking in between 1100 and 1400 3 days and close to 2000 on 1 day. I kept up my regular exercise and even added some extra exercise two days. I have somehow managed to gain 5 pounds in that time period. What the heck? So does that mean I will forever have to exist on 1000 or less calories per day? And as I lose more weight, I'll have to live on even less calories. This is the part of weight that I just don't understand and really want to whine about the fairness. I'm back on track now. I had a better day yesterday and plan to have a much more normal 800-900 calories today. I'm just very, very confused and frustrated by this.
  6. Okay, I'll make you guys feel better. I'm up 3 pounds in the last 4 days. I wasn't even that bad. I mean, I don't think I broke 1200 calories except for yesterday. Anyway, back to better eating today and I'm gonna try to get some more exercise in today. Had to quit my workout early this morning cause I felt so caca. Feeling better now though and I'm ready to tackle the world again.
  7. Thank you all. All of your kind words meant the world to me. I had a good cry and I feel like the wickedness has left me. I then did the most unbelievable thing to me. I poured hot water on the rest of the ice cream and washed it down the drain. I don't know why but I had just gotten into a "Who gives a damn" mood and I felt horrible, both physically and emotionally. Thing that bothers me most is all the saturated fat in that stuff. It's almost worse than the calories. Deep sigh and I think I'm back on the healthy track. Gonna surround myself with health today and that should kick me back in gear. Once again, thanks guys. Wow! I really admire you. I could never throw ice cream down the drain. That is why I buy the little weight watcher cups that are 140 calories or the sf fudgsicles. It's bad though. Sometimes I don't want real food, just one of those. I wish sweets made me sick like it does for the RNY people. I always turn to sweets when stressed.
  8. Why do I keep thinking about Stephen King?
  9. Well guys, I don't know what to do. I not only finished off the other ice cream but I bought more today. And, on top of that, I've been going thru an eating frenzy. Eating all kinds of stuff that I had pretty much eliminated from my diet. I know it's cause my husband and son are gone and I'm feeling like I have no one watching me. Plus it's like I'm free to work out all the stress and sadness I've had the last couple weeks since my husband's MRI on 9-9-08. God I hate cancer!!!!!!!! Ahhh, that actually felt good. Hopefully I can force myself back on track before they get home on Saturday. Healthy is good. Thinner feels better. Come on, chant with me.
  10. Wow! 50 pounds in 7 weeks? Dang, I'm jealous. Good for you.
  11. No movement Tap? Or did you gain? Either way, keep it up. Maybe it will finally break next week. I know it's so frustrating. I get mad every time I see those charts that tell you how much you'll lose in a week on x calories. I always lose about half what they say. Curses on slower metabolism!
  12. Hi guys. I've been fighting the ice addiction a lot lately. I do really well for 2-3 days, then it wins for a day or two. I know it's still better than it was before when I had it every day but I'd really like to kick this foul habit. One good thing is that I only have 1 serving left, 2 if I make them small. I won't be buying any more until next weekend since my son and husband are out of town until then. I can do it. I can do it. Tap - you're really doing well. I'm so proud and trying hard to emulate you. Glou, Ready, SNT, Shelly, leedor, StLouisGal, Bim - hope you're all doing well and fighting the good fight. Michelle - welcome to the gang! Those packet mixes have zero calories usually but they do retain water or at least they don't have the benefit of getting rid of water retention like straight water would. So if you're trying to lose some water weight, I'd stick to plain ole water. If you're just wanting to get rid of soda and want a decent replacement then, sure, they'd be fine. There are some pretty good flavored waters out there that have 0-40 calories per bottle. I like Metromint, Twist Naturals and the Fresh & Easy teas if you have them in your area.
  13. I'll be wishing him good luck Shiny. You guys deserve all the best. I admire your willpower to resist the scale. I can't, gotta see it go down even when I know it will come right back up. Anyone else watch "You Are What You Eat"? After a good "poo", it's straight to the scale. LMAO - I know TMI, sorry.
  14. I'm hoping and crossing fingers for you Tap. You've done so well with your exercise and nut addiction that I'm sure you will see some progress. I'll check in today cause I reached another goal. One more pound down and I'm finally past the halfway mark. Woo hoo! 4 more pounds and I only have 100 left to go. Ugh.
  15. Wow Anna - looking great. You can totally see that you've lost weight. Feels so fantastic, doesn't it? Seven months ago I would never have believed how far we come so fast.
  16. Welcome Shelly. Lots of room in our little group for more supportive people. Looks like you're only a few days post op too. Don't worry, it gets better pretty fast and usually you have some of the best loss at the start. Enjoy!
  17. Okay, gonna confess here in the hopes that it will help me correct my bad behavior. I've been back at the ice cream again. Three nights in a row. It started the night I had my fill, Tuesday. I justified it by saying that my calories were so low because I was on full liquids so no biggie. Then the next day I was going thru some freak eat-a-thon thing. And yesterday my husband and son left for their trip to California to visit his family. Too much! Too much stress + too much ice cream = no weight loss for me. I really have to banish it again. How have the rest of you been doing? The thread has been pretty quiet but I'm sure you guys are doing better than me.
  18. Congrats Jaime!! That's so wonderful. Bet you're on a sweet high from that. I know it was one of my life's greatest moments.
  19. Congrats! Must feel really fantastic to be that close to done. You've worked hard to get there so enjoy!
  20. Has anyone tried these out yet? And if so, is it complete workouts on the DVD that comes with it? Figure I may give em a try since it's only $9.99 plus shipping. Gliding Sliding Disc Exercise System :: Official Website - Ultimate Buns and Legs Workout
  21. Had a fill yesterday and found out I was down 9 pounds over the last 4 weeks. That made me feel much better since the month before it had only been 5 pounds and I was really worried that I was going to be losing at a slower rate now. Glad to know that my body kicked back into gear and was close to the old rate again. I think that I might be getting used to this weight loss spurt method I seem to have. I get a fill, lose 3-5 pounds in a snap, then bounce up and down for the rest of the month stuggling to get some more off. Rinse and repeat. Think I may just stop weighing myself for a week or so when it starts again. Save myself some frustration. Also, just an FYI, I started my losing spurt before the fill this time. Not sure if it was the because I upped my Protein from 50ish to 80-100 range, cutting out the nightly ice cream (got it down to a couple times a week) or the slight increase in exercise time or if it is just a matter of losing in spurts.
  22. Yep Shiny, hang in there. It will certainly move down for you again. You've done a fantastic job already. Your body just needs a chance to adjust to the changes. Got my fingers crossed for your hubby and hope you hear soon. Stress is a very tough one to deal with now that we've taken away one of our coping mechanisms.
  23. Dang Tap, you're as bad as me. I've been up since 4:45 and it's now 5:45 and the sun is just starting to come up but not light enough to walk yet. So I guess I'll play on the computer. LOL Really, I'll do that after I do my workout here in a minute. I have a doctor's appointment this morning so I'll find out how much I lost this month. I think it's only about 6 pounds. And I know that's okay but it's about half of what I used to lose a month.

Tap - Those are both absolutely beautiful. I really love the pine tree one.
  25. Good to hear from you again. Sounds like you're actually doing well. Mine has slowed down a lot too and it seems like it's been pretty common for us VVs right now. You're so close to your goal. Congrats!
