Can you tell?
Perfect solution for a Dr. Asshat. Now you just have to keep a straight face when you get on the scale. Least this way you can struggle to diet some weight off and still get the fill you so badly need. It sounds like he thinks the only indicator is how much weight you are losing. What about how much you are able to eat, have you had anything get stuck, are you having trouble with any foods, do you have any acid reflux, how much water and protein are you taking in per day, how much exercise? These are questions my doctor asks me every single visit. They are all indicators of your band status. Bahhh, nevermind me, I know you know you need a fill and sounds like you've found the answer to get a fill from him. Does he ever do fills under flouro?

How do you get that feeling?
You know, the one where you eat something delicious and can be satisfied with just a small taste of it. I'm having a hard time with that one. I went to a BBQ yesterday and the food was absolutely amazing. I tried, and mostly was able to stick with small portions but I didn't want to do that. I was mad because I couldn't truly partake of the wonderful food. I forced myself to eat an entire chicken breast, along with small bits of the side dishes. I was so full I was absolutely miserable, thought I was gonna puke and we had to leave because I felt so terrible. I didn't eat much other than that the whole day and still feel full this morning. Gah! What did I do to myself and how the heck do you get to the point where you aren't mad that you can't eat more and are just so happy and satisfied with a little bit?

Weirdest NSV for me
Yeah, I'm sure he was one, it just didn't feel like it. Guess it's me that's feeling good about where I'm at now. Too bad for him. Plus it's true, before he would have never dared say anything like that. LOL - look at me - I've lost so much weight, I can now be insulted. Hahaha - that is truly funny to me and best part is I could buy the bakery stuff and even eat a couple cookies and I'm still losing weight. Bet that cake he got is sitting right on his gut about now.

101 gone!!!
Yay Gibson!!! I've missed you so much. And I can't wait for you to get some good restriction. I has to happen even if he is a super conservative putz, even he will eventually get enough in your band and you will finally have some help on this difficult journey. Pop in more often, pretty please with a cherry on top.

6 Month Progress Pics
Okay guys, it's the last day of the month. I need more progress pictures. You can do it! Hell, this is the first and only place I've ever posted a picture of me on the web. I still don't like the way I look but I do like being able to see how much I've changed. Come on, FEED ME! ..... Pictures that is.

Poll: The lapband
Wow Rquinn, that sucks! I'm so sorry to hear that you're having to deal with all of that. Right now you should be able to just focus on yourself. Sucks when life throws so many things at us at once. Try to hang on and keep working it the best you can. The pendulum does always swing the other way.

New weight range
Wow bluelion, you're flying! You're about 2/3rds of the way done. You go, my band anniversary day buddy!

Let's talk booze!
I had half of a bottle of mojito yesterday. Wow, it's amazing how little it takes to give me a big buzz now. And while I did enjoy the drink, the buzz left me feeling really groggy which I didn't enjoy. So, guess I won't be doing that often. I do plan to test out some wine soon though. It's also really hard for me to deal with the calories from it, I'd rather have dessert. LOL

101 gone!!!
It was the fill that finally broke my plateau. My calories are way down again. And I may actually be at my sweet spot. It's been almost two weeks and I still have decent restriction. I have some room left but this spot seems to be working really well for now. I have also kicked my exercise up from about 20 minutes a day to 30 minutes. Got my fingers crossed that yours breaks soon too.

101 gone!!!
So I've had a wonderful weekend so far. Yesterday my mom gave me a beautiful flower arrangement to celebrate. And this morning my hubby took me off to a secret appointment. It ended up being a haircut at a fancy salon. Then I went shopping for cookbooks and got lunch from this delicious jamaican place. Came home and did a foot spa thing and I'll finish the pedicure tomorrow. My family really made me feel special and it was a fantastic way to celebrate the loss of pounds and finding life. Thank you all too. You're a big part of my support system.

101 gone!!!
I'm thinking about the pamper stuff - facial, pedicure, manicure. But I'm also thinking about getting the roaster pan that goes with my soon to be new cookware. A few cheap clothes are okay, I guess. I'm just not to the point where I'm excited about them yet. When I get there - look out! I'm also thinking about just a nice night out with the hubby - dinner and movies, some wine. I don't want to reward myself with food but it's really tempting as a splurge. Would feel nice to try something fancy that I've always wanted to try and I could still be healthy about it. I don't know. Heck, planning and wishing is half the fun.

101 gone!!!
I finally reached my first big goal, I'm down 101 pounds. I'm so excited. I wanted to hit this by my 6 month anniversary but missed it by a week and a half. Not too depressed about that cause I'm so happy to have made it. This 101 is since my first doctor's appointment about a year ago. I lost 24 pounds on the 6-month diet for insurance and put 6 of that back on at Christmas. Then I lost 16 on the 2 week pre-op. The other 67 has been thanks to the band and me. Yay! Gonna Celebrate a bit and while I do that work on my next goal - the halfway mark. That's only 4 pounds away. Gah, I so excited. Help me think of something nice to do for myself please. I'm supposed to get the sweet set of pots and pans that I dying for but money is still a bit tight. I'm sure I'll get them but it will probably be a combination of reaching goal, birthday and Christmas. My mother wants to buy me new clothes but I just don't want to spend money on that when I know I'll be losing more soon. Any fun ideas?

6 Month Progress Pics
Looking great Jaime. You're really coming along great. Happy Anniversary!

What are my chances?
I'm 6 months post op and no pb, slime or puking here. I have had a couple of moments when I thought I might but got thru it without incidence. I asked my doctor why they didn't warn me about pb and slime and they said because they have rarely had it happen. It might be because I'm not too tight. I do know it's fairly common though.

My best NSV yet!
That really is a fantastic NSV! I'm so happy for you. Got a bit teary eyed over it. And don't worry about missing your 6 month goal (I missed mine by 4 pounds too), you're way ahead of where anyone expected you to be. Yay!!!

Two goals hit on my 6 month bandiversary

Just keep swimming literally
I'm sorry but...LOL...were you thinking of something else when you were writing? I about died laughing at that typo. Swimming sounds like so much fun. I really wish we had a pool here cause I'd be swimming every day. Good for you Ready! On both exercises.

Let's talk Plateaus
Good point. I'm sure I'm more stubborn than any silly plateau. I'm not going back to the way I was even if I could so it might as well give up.

Let's talk Plateaus
I still don't have a good answer for this one. In fact, I feel like I'm still on one. I only lost 5 pounds between the last two visits to my surgeon, which was a 5 week period. I know it's still okay but I was losing about 10-11 every 2 weeks. Last month I was stuck for 3 weeks. I got a fill last Tuesday. Next day I dropped a pound, day after that I dropped 2 more pounds. I thought I was on my way again. But nooooooooo... for the last 5 days I've been bouncing up and down again. I'm barely eating anything, I upped my exercise a few weeks ago, I tried changing up my diet. Feeling even more frustrated because I'm sitting about 2 pounds from 100 pounds lost. My first major goal and I really, really want to hit it. I'm fearing that I've lost that ole band magic. I did find this today when i was searching around for plateau stuff. It's from the Jan 08 forum - http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f112/how-break-plateau-66916/

Lets find our friends again
Good to hear from you Sadie. Sounds like you're doing great. Congrats on the progress and stop by more often. :biggrin2: Plus we're gonna definately need a report on the tummy tuck. Woo hoo, lucky you!

Lets find our friends again
Don't think it's rude at all. Don't think anyone would be offended when they're told that we enjoy having them around and miss them. I'm on it.

help !!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably a silly question but, are you still taking pain meds? They make me itch like crazy.

Poll: The lapband
Glad you're feeling better. It's a tough choice to make and hard to get it done but now I want to wring my own neck for dragging my feet. I hope your hubby snaps out of it. It's so much easier when you have good support at home. Good luck with your surgery. It'll be here before you know it.

Weirdest NSV for me
That's a great one Jaime! Bet you laughed and then beamed for a long time on that one. I've also noticed people are much more social with me now. I know that part of it is me but it's definately them too.
