Aw, smilin, I am so sorry to hear that! I know how you feel. I could have had mine sooner too but my surgeon is going out of the country from Oct. 26th to Nov. 9th and when I first got approved there were like 4 people ahead of me so that's how I got shoved to the end of Nov. He is the only surgeon in the practice. You must live in a big city-three surgeons! Try to think positive. You never know, they could still get you in Nov. yet. And if not, you have waited this long..........I know that is not very encouraging but that is the only way I could keep myself from being too sad about having to wait so long. Try not to eat out of sadness...easier said than done. I know....I put on like 30 lbs just waiting to get approved. Don't run off to the Dec. 2007 thread just yet...I would miss you! Hang in there and don't be sad. Good things come to those who wait.........

Thanks smilin! I am happy that I have a date but I am trying not to get too excited so I don't jinx it. I hope that you get your date soon!!! I was kind of a pain, I kept calling my surgeon's office every few days to see if they had a date then finally when I called Monday, she said she had just scheduled it!

Hi everyone, I just got my surgery date today.........November 29.....I was really hoping it was earlier in Nov. but my surgeon is going out of the country from Oct. 26th to Nov. 9th so that set everyone back. I am just glad to finally have a surgery date and am already counting down the days even though I am sad that I have to wait so much longer!

Hi everyone! I should have my surgery date next week sometime but they said it will almost for sure be in November. I had a pre-surgical endoscopy yesterday, which he said came out fine. Between now and surgery, I have to see the dietician 3 more times, the exercise phyisiologist once, have blood work, and a letter of surgical clearance from my family dr. I am really excited to get this started....I have waited so long!

Hey all, esp Jackie-how are you doing? I am sorry I haven't been around in a while. It took so long for me to see the surgeon and everything, and I figured I wouldn't get approved by ins so I didn't even bother coming on this site for a long time. However, I got my approval letter in the mail yesterday!!!!:clap2: I was really excited for about 2 hours and then I got a call from my family dr. with results on an MRI I had last week. I have been having back pain and weakness in my legs. Well evidently I have a fatty mass that is on my spinal cord and now I have to see a NEUROSURGEON!!!! That kind of ruined the happiness from my good news........I am just waiting for a neuro appt now, as well as waiting to get all my pre-surgical appts made for my band. I hope I can get the band before back surgery. Don't get me wrong, I am REALLY excited about the band, and I am SO happy to be approved, I just hope this back thing doesn't interfere!! Hope everyone is well and I promise I will be on here a LOT more now!

I havent had my surgery yet so I don't know if they would let me go.........if you are going to go I could call and see if they will let me go, too!!!! I usually work until 6 but I am taking that day as a vacation day.

I tried to respond last week but it didn't go through......how are you doing Jackie? I am looking forward to hearing all about it. I am just waiting on my psych eval to be turned in then my dr's office will submit everything to my insurance then I can only hope.............

Hi Jackie! When is your surgery? I wish my husband would get it done too but he wants to do it the natural way so more power to him! I have to have my psych eval and after that when I get my new insurance on June 1 the dr's office will submit it for approval......please keep your fingers crossed for me!! Jackie, I am sorry I have not been on here in a long time. I have had a lot going on. How was your appointment? You are probably banded by now! I just completed my last month of my supervised diet and everything is ready to go to insurance but now my husband's work decided not to cover spouses anymore so as of June 1st I have to have insurance through my work. So after June 1, they will send the info to my new insurance which thank God is Medical Mutual also and we will go from there. I would be getting ready for surgery if this hadn't happened!

Glad to meet you, too Jackie! I'm so excited to find someone from around here! It sounds like you will be getting banded a lot sooner tham me. I am working with Bariatric Solutions at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. Dr. Kokocharov is the one that will do the surgery. I haven't met with him yet, I think that comes after my next appt with the bariatric physician. I have heard good things about him. I know they have a support group there that I will have to attend after getting banded. Next time I have an appt I will check and see if others can go too and get you the info. I would love for us to have each other as a support!!! My husband is not getting banded, I wish he would. I think it would benefit him. He is being supportive, though so that is good. Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Jackie! I live in Findlay and am working on my 6 month dr. supervised diet and hopefully I can be banded this summer. I am glad to find other people from my area on here....I thought maybe I was the only one!!!:eek:

I have Medical Mutual of Ohio and am just getting started in the process. I spoke with them about an hour ago and they faxed me a copy of the requirements. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck, I hope you get an approval soon! I'm scared of being denied, too but a lot of people at my husband's work have been approved for gbp so hopefully it is easier than I am thinking it will be. Where in Ohio are you? I am in Findlay.

I just had my consulation there on Wednesday and am waiting to hear back from my insurance company. I went to the one in Columbus. Is that the one you are referring to? Please let me know how it goes.
