  1. LOL, I think Thanksbandsters is cute so is the turksters!
  2. Happy Birthday to your little doggie! :clap2: My oldest just turned 7 last week.
  3. Hi sweet and welcome from one dog lover to another! I'm 33. I have three little dachshunds that are my babies. I have a good friend that lives in Oregon.
  4. OMG thank you so much for responding. I am hoping that is what will happen with me!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am freaking out so bad. My appointment isn't until the 18th and I am going to go INSANE worrying. My surgery isn't until Nov. 29th but I just want to get my clearance so I know that this is happening FOR SURE!!!
  5. I know there has probably been a thread about this....I am supposed to see my family dr. for surgical clearance soon and they just called because they got my labs back and my thyroid is still out of whack so they are upping my dosage of synthroid. I asked the nurse if it will keep him from giving me surgical clearance and she said she didn't know. Does anyone know if this is a major issue that will keep me from being banded? I am not seeing him until the 18th and I am going to freak out between now and then!:help:
  6. nessa, I am so excited too about the prospect of buying clothes in a regular store, in a decent size!! I can't remember the last time I bought anything that wasn't "Plus Size!!!!"
  7. Hi Caramel and welcome! Congrats on your approval! I was recently approved as well and will be banded Nov. 29th. I am a neighbor, from NW Ohio. I am doing all the pre-surgical stuff now as well.
  8. Hello and welcome! I am being banded Nov. 29th and have found this forum to be great for info and support!
  9. I have to be on Optifast for my pre-surgical diet as well as post-surgical. I have been on Optifast in the past. I personally think the powdered stuff is GROSS but there are some who like it. It is a lot cheaper than the boxed drinks. As far as the boxes go, chocolate and vanilla are fine, I liked vanilla better. I couldn't stand the strawberry. I love the chicken soup and the tomato soup both! The bars aren't bad either-I only tried the chocolate ones. Good luck!
  10. I still have a long ways to go until Nov. 29th but I got a bunch of pre-op appts scheduled today and it is finally sinking in that this is really going to happen! I have bloodwork and ekg on Oct. 2nd, then on the 10th I have to go to a pre-surgical seminar for 3 hours, then see the dr. again for more bloodwork, see the surgeon Nov. 15th, and then surgery Nov. 29th. It really seems like it isn't for a while but I know it will be here before I know it. I'm just so scared something is going to happen that I won't be able to have it! I am so jealous of everyone that gets to go before me!!! Smilin, how are you doing today?
  11. That is a great idea, socal. I should be more positive. Angel, if I was near you I would be happy to go and support you!
  12. I can't believe they refuse to see you unless you have someone with you. I am telling as few people as possible. If I were you I would look and see if there is another surgeon in your area you could call for a consult. This is making me so mad that they are refusing to see you without a support person!!!
  13. It is my understanding that I could only exchange it within the first 30 days at no charge and I am past 30 days. When I went in before the 30 days was up, that was when they told me to get used to the one I had!!! Sure, I could go get another one but I would have to pay cash and I sure don't have that kind of money!
  14. Thanks Sheila! I am going to miss my pop but I am willing to sacrifice! Like I said I didn't want to offend anyone.......wheetsin I wasn't even adding the calories up like that....OUCH!!!
  15. Mandi, I know exactly how you feel! I can't sleep with my mouth closed....I thought I could but I can't/ I want to try a different mask but they weren't very receptive to that at the medical equipment place, they just said I needed to get used to the one that I have. I am going to make my best effort to wear it again this weekend. Luckily the sleep dr. wants to see me again 2-3 months after surgery so maybe after I drop some lbs I won't need it anymore. My husband has a full face mask and loves it but I could never wear that!
