  1. Yes, I am the crazy cat lady! But at least I only have 4 now!!
  2. That's great! I wish I could quit mine!!
  3. That's exactly what I was thinking. I told her that and she said, "Well doesn't it make sense that since you are not eating the same that your meds wouldn't be absorbed the same?" No, that doesn't make sense. She also made it sound like I never eat. She ask me what all do I usually eat a day and when I told her she basically made it sound like I was anorexic or something. I told her I still eat 3 solid meals a day, just a lot less than before. She told me that I was malnourished! I still weigh over 200 pounds, so I'm not sure that's possible! She made it sound like I needed to be in the hospital with a feeding tube!
  4. Thanks. Once I calmed down a little, I did call a new doctor and I have an appointment next week. I think I was more upset with the way she talked to me than anything!
  5. Yea, I think they said that they aren't going to release them until she proves she can take care of them.
  6. This was my mother exactly. She preached no sex until marriage. That's why I had to go to planned parenthood and get my birth control because I knew she never would take me.
  7. gadget, I never meant to call you stupid, or any name at all. I was saying that the belief that teens aren't going to have sex and to only preach abstinence is stupid.
  8. Who would want to watch her in a porno? Did you see those pictures of her stomach when she was pregnant? GROSS!!!!
  9. It is extreme and stupid. I think Planned Parenthood's goal is to elliminate the need for women to have to have abortions in the first place by providing birth control that is easy and inexpensive to obtain. (though I'm sure prolifers will disagree)
  10. I love cats and I had about 9 at one time. They were hard enough to take care of, let along 14 kids!
  11. I think it is a little extreme. Planned Parenthood does so much for women that doesn't involve abortion. There used to be a planned parenthood where I live when I was a teenage. They didn't preform abortions there. They did Paps, treated STDs, and gave birth control. It was very inexpensive. I used to go there when I was a teenager to get my birth control. I remember they used to give 3 packs for only about $12. And it was all confidential. They didn't tell parents their kids came there. But a prolife group came and ran them off. It left a lot of women without insurance no where to go for affordable birth control and women's health issues. It also left teenagers no where to go for confidential birth control and treatment. Now there is a women's group, AAA, I think, in the building. They help women who are already pregnant. But they do nothing to keep women from getting that way in the first place.
  12. I have been having some abnormal bleeding now for about a month. I went to my gyno today to see what might be going on. I haven't seen her since I had surgery so she immediately noticed my weight loss. When I told her about the bleeding, she started telling me that it is from the Lap Band and not being able to absorb my birth control pill correctly!! I am very confused. I told her that the surgeon said there would be no problem with continuing to take my pill after surgery. She didn't believe it. I tried to tell her how the band works and that there isn't a problem with absorption. She kept interupting me and telling me that I was wrong! She also told me that I am malnourished from the band! I had surgery in May and I tried to tell her that I don't believe it is from surgery because I don't think it would have just now started. But she would not listen to me. She was very rude! I am very worried about the bleeding because cancer runs very strongly in my family and my sisters have all had some type of reproductive cancer. She barely examined me and told me the bleeding was about to stop, but it's not. She also accused me of not taking my pill as I am supposed to, which is a total lie! She wants to take me off the pill and put me on something nonhormonal because she thinks the band interfers with the hormones! I am very confused! Has anyone ever heard of this? I was so upset, I left her office in tears!
  13. I am buying a lot on ebay, especially jeans. I have even been looking for smaller sizes and buying them because I know I will need them soon. Most of my clothes are really big too, especially my scrubs. But I am going to wait until I lose some more before I buy new scrubs. I tend to wear everything until it is falling to the floor!
  14. Thanks Cleo, that is what I have been trying to say as well. There are a lot of prolifers who want to make contraception illegal as well as abortion.
  15. If he's offering to take care of them, she should let him regardless!
  16. I agree. There are a lot of people who want to make birth control illegal.
  17. That's my point exactly. Why are you against hormonal birth control but not tubal ligation?
  18. Tubal ligation causes scare tissue which would make it very hard for a fertilized egg to reach the uterus. If the tubes are burned (which is most commonly done), it is still possible for fertilization to occur and the embryo would have no way of reaching the uterus to implant because the tubes are gone.
  19. It's irresponsible for you to expect women not to use a reliable form of birth control just because there is a tiny tiny chance of break trough ovulation. It is irresponsible for you to push nonhormonal birth control when it is very unreliable. If you all want to prevent so many abortions, then you need to be pushing contraceptive that is reliable and not likely to cause an unwanted pregnancy.
  20. And what about a hyterectomy? If a woman has had her uteus removed but not her ovaries and fertilization occurs, isn't that abortion since the embryo has nothing to attach to?
  21. Don't you believe that life begins at conception? So if fertilization were to occur in a woman who had a tubal and it caused the embryo not to be able to implant, wouldn't that be the same thing as an abortifacient?
  22. I never said anything about suppressing information. But I also think that women need to be told the truth, that is is extremely rare.
  23. I just don't think he is. He's looking for some cash.
