  1. So I’m sitting here watching PBS cooking shows while I’m on the preop diet. He’s making baked potatoes stuffed tomatoes and chocolate pistachio brittle. A few days ago this would’ve killed me as I was very hungry. I think at this point to certain extent my hunger has left me. I like to cook and I love to watch cooking shows. I look forward to making quality meals of the appropriate portions from expensive cuts of meat & seafood with fresh fruits fruit and vegetables. I like the thought of delicious quality foods over mass quantities of junk food. I don’t consider that a sacrifice at all! My surgery is on January 18th. It’s coming up fast.
  2. Now that’s a good last meal there!
  3. Yes excited to get this over with & be done with the pre-op portion of the plan. Congrats to you as well on the surgery & the weight loss present & future!
  4. I’m right there with you. I went out to dinner a couple of times & had steak & jumbo shrimp before I started the pre-op but I really wanted to go to the casino for the prime rib buffet before I did this. Oh well! I plan on eating small portions of delicious (expensive) lean cuts of meat & seafood with fresh fruits & veggies. The days of Quantity are passed time for the more expensive quality meals. I also love to cook so that’s a plus. Here’s to delicious 4-6 oz meals!
  5. How did it go? Mines on the 18th.
  6. I think not if it doesn’t become a habit. Maybe even half of a slice. Nice job on the weight loss!
  7. That bowl looks like my dinner last night.
  8. Glad to hear your at home & on the mend. I would love to hear how you feel in a couple of days.
  9. Water is the best thing you can drink after surgery! I also really like infused water.
  10. Almond milk is good. The 30 calorie a serving comes in vanilla to. I was told to stay away from liquid calories but at 30 calories a cup I’ll drink it once in a while.
  11. Yeah let’s see it to believe it.
  12. Congrats! Hope you have a Speedy recovery.
  13. I didn’t see the date on the post. Congrats on you continued success! Will you be my mentor?
  14. Drink as much as you can just don’t drink to much. Can you have broth?
  15. I’m on the pre-op diet with surgery on the 18th. But with small portions in the near future I plan to eat expensive cuts of lean meat and seafood like King Crab, Jumbo Shrimp, and smoked salmon that I would not have normally bought as often in the past. Having small portions will allow me a little more freedom to buy quality over quantity. Of course the portions will be smaller but the food will be better. I’m looking forward to a small piece of delicious protein and fresh fruits and vegetables. The possibilities are endless! I wouldn’t be to concerned with a stall early on just think forward to 6 months or a year. That’s when you’ll yield results. I think you’ll be just fine.
  16. Forgot to quote your post. So you only eat 2 times a day?
  17. Try these they are very good & come in different flavors.
  18. Try these. They’re very good & Orgain comes in different flavors.
  19. These are great and come in different flavors. I use a scoop of each per shake for over 30grams of protein.
  20. Don’t have doubts. I’ve been there & done that. I backed out of surgery on May 30th 2017. I was in the hospital with the iv in & didn’t go through with it & now I regret that decision. A friend had surgery that same day & has lost well over 100 pounds already. I’m now rescheduled for January 18th. You got this! I’m asking for the Adivan as soon as I can get it when I arrive at the hospital to calm my nerves. Good Luck!
  21. That’s amazing! Congrats!!
  22. Wow! 100 pounds for 3 years. That’s the exact kind of encouraging success people need to hear about. That’s awesome. Congratulations!
