Surgery in 30 minutes
I’m in my bed and waiting to talk to the anesthesiologist before they wheel me to surgery. Woke up with a splitting headache feeling dehydrated. Can’t wait till they start the IV so I can ask for some meds and Ativan.

Surgery tomorrow
Thanks so much! This is my second attempt my nerves got the best of me on May 30, 2017. I was already in the hospital with an IV in my arm and ended up going home.

Able to eat more than I should
Are you eating lean protein & fruits & veggies with no breading/frying & no sauces or gravy etc.? Are you drinking liquid calories? Are you taking 20-30 minutes to eat 4-6 ounces of solid/hearty foods? Are you making sure not to drink 30 minutes before meals until 30 minutes after? Just some things that have been repeatedly pounded into my head by my Surgical group doctor/dietitian. Hopefully you find some resolve. Good luck!

Well tomorrow’s the big day. After a four week pre-op I have to be at the hospital at 9:00 & surgery at 10:30. A little nervous but ready!

Off to the hospital!
I requested the Ativan as soon as possible. I go in on the 18th and I’m gonna make it very clear again that I want it quickly.

Flying Solo and kind of scared
You don’t have to be alone. Make delicious delicacies. But the best quality small meals instead of quantity meals and live your life. I’m already planning on buying expensive cuts of meat and seafood and eating the appropriate sized portions with fruits and veggies. You can have delicious meals for the rest of your life and live like you always have. This surgery only provides you with the tool you need to lose weight but it doesn’t change or fix any life problems you may have had prior. If that may be the case talk to your doctor & maybe seek counseling. Good luck & congrats on your surgery.

Surgery is on Jan 18th --1 day away
Mine is the 18th as well. I did two weeks protein & 1 meal per day followed by two weeks of just protein shakes & tomorrow clear liquids only. Good luck!

How do you stop weight gain

How do you stop weight gain
Are you drinking liquid calories? Do you stop drinking 30 min before meals & until 30 min after? Are you eating hearty solid foods with no sauces/liquids? Remember these things will flush your pouch out quickly allowing you to consume more. I would drink nothing but water for a month & see what happens.

Bariatric Vitamins
Weird I showed those to my Dietician and he said those were fine. He also gave me the sample of the bariatric vitamins and said they had everything I need except calcium. Is there such a thing as too much B12 & if so what would it do?

Bariatric Vitamins
My Dietician gave me a sample of these & I went ahead & ordered them. I like the idea of everything I need in one tablet & the price is right. I paid around $15.00 for two 30 day supplies.

Jacques Pepin on pe-op
Yum! Your the third person I’ve heard say that rice got stuck or didn’t agree with them. I guess that’s why they call it sticky rice. ?. I think I’ll be staying clear of that after surgery. I’ve never been a fan of any rice except Spanish Rice & I love that so that kinda sucks.

Finally made it to the losers bench!
How's it goin today?

Watching Jacques Pepin on Pre-op diet
So I’m sitting here watching PBS cooking shows while I’m on the preop diet. He’s making baked potatoes stuffed tomatoes and chocolate pistachio brittle. A few days ago this would’ve killed me as I was very hungry. I think at this point to certain extent my hunger has left me. I like to cook and I love to watch cooking shows. I look forward to making quality meals of the appropriate portions from expensive cuts of meat & seafood with fresh fruits fruit and vegetables. I like the thought of delicious quality foods over mass quantities of junk food. I don’t consider that a sacrifice at all! My surgery is on January 18th. It’s coming up fast! I posted this earlier & the title was messed up & I have no idea how to edit.

Exactly my meaning. Why not spend more money for the good stuff when meals are typically 4-6 ounces. It’s like a plate at a five star restaurant instead of a bag of burgers from McDonalds.
