  1. Just a thought... but are you going to the bathroom? If not, you need to be! Not going post-op can really mess with your GI tract. As for "normal", everyone's experience is different... so I think you're fine. You got some great advice here. Be kind to yourself & when in doubt, call your surgeon's office. That's what they're there for!

I'm guessing Kat will go. The judges picked her apart! What was up with them running out of time? Gimme a break! The first 3 (I think) got personal interviews before singing... the last 3 didn't. What a crock! I didn't hate all the songs (I expected to). I'm ready for them to stop forcing the kids to sing a certain type of song. I prefer decades, so there's all types available. It was good to see the kids get picked apart in practice... I think they were better for it. It was nice to hear a current producer's point of view. Can't wait until tonight! I've already got butterflies, worrying about who's leaving.
  3. Wow. That's super duper scary. I think I'll go back to sticking my head in the sand. :Banane33: Keep us up to date with your progress, Kim! (( Hugs!! ))
  4. Oh my goodness, I would so have left screaming! :Banane33: Congrats on not punching him!
  5. 1. The sipping isn't that big of a deal. It's just us trying to get folks to slow down. If you gulp & get extra air, you'll have more gas & post-op gas pains just don't need any extra help! 2. Most people do gain a little when they go back on food. My advice is just to take the hit. Seriously. You don't want your body to go into starvation mode... that will hinder the weight loss even more. So take the hit now, expect it... forgive yourself before it happens. Try to not weigh all the time during the first 6 weeks. Be nice to yourself & keep moving your bod. The more movement the better. You're doing great!! Hang in there!
  6. Wow, go Tina!! Congrats on your surgery date! Dr Sewell is the best! And the surgery center... oooo la la! Btw, I've became an Isopure vendor yesterday, so if you're interested, I can get it for wholesale for folks in the DFW area. Shoot me a PM if you want some. ($2.50 / bottle instead of $3.50) I'll be thinking of you on Monday!
  7. Welcome to LBT, Questions! I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your insurance question, but I'll bump this so folks see it. Keep reading & searching... perhaps you'll find another way of financing! Good luck on your journey!
  8. I'm not sure what wakeboarding is, heh, but except for some post-op limitations, I haven't heard of anyone being limited in their physical activity. Post-op, most doctors request you don't do anything strenuous for 10 days & no ab work for a while (4-8 weeks, depending on the doc).
  9. It's really personal, Jesse. Some are ready for fills by week 2 post-op, heh, though most doctors make you wait 4-6 weeks or more. Remember that everyone's stomach is a different size... for some it's a stretch to get the band on there! Stomachs like that will have more restriction to start. For some, the band barely touches their stomach without a fill. If you've gone 3 months and still have restriction, enjoy it!! As long as you're losing weight successfully, I think you're fine. When you plateau or find that you're regularly eating more then you should, then you need to get that fill. Congrats on your 60 pounds gone, that's awesome!
  10. Hi Amanda & welcome to LBT!! The best advice I can give you is to read, read, read LBT. There's tons of info here. And as you think of questions, write 'em down & post 'em! We'll be happy to offer our opinions! Congrats on exploring options! Hope you find one that's perfect for you!!
  11. I called on Jan 2 for our first appointment. We were self-pay & it took 6 weeks. I could have pulled my hair out! By the time we finally made the decision to do it, I was READY!! Looking back it wasn't that long, lol, but it seemed like FOREVER! Hang in there! You'll make it!
  12. I love you, DonnaB! You sound sooo much like me! You can do this!! Good job getting out of the house! And walking instead of driving (so you don't end up at a restaurant). Keep fighting it!! If you're craving salt... maybe try some meat with soy sauce on it or something? Or a few baked chips? I know it's not the best choice... but it might help, and it's better then LJS! (( Hugs!! )) 7 days... just hang in there 7 days!! You can do it!
  13. I just spoke to the Isopure folks. I can get setup as a vendor! I just had to prove I have a business, heh. The minimum order is 6 cases. I didn't ask him about the powder, but I'm sure I could get it, if anyone wants it. Mikey & I use 2 cases of the RTD Zero Carb a month, so if anyone orders 4 more I can place an order. Oh, it's $30 per case (12 bottles), so 2.50 per bottle. It's $3+ at Vitamin Shoppe, so it is a savings. Not as much of one as I'd hoped for... *sigh*. But better then nothing! And at least I should be able to get all the flavors! I don't think I mentioned that I'll have to charge sales tax inside Texas. I wasn't thinking about it, but the Nature's Best rep hammered his point home, lol. Ugh. (Edit: There's no sales tax on nutritional supplements in the state of Texas, so I'm not sure what the rep was smoking! But I won't be charging sales tax.) Anyway, send me a PM if you'd like to order.
  14. I wouldn't let it go longer then a week, heh. But then again, I'm impatient!
  15. I take Spring Valley from Walmart (they're the generic form of Viactiv). I LOVE the caramel ones... delicious! They're sugary & chewable, so I'm sure they dissolve. I do count the calories, heh, like 20 per day, I think.
  16. LOL, priceless!
  17. I don't think it's rude to call & ask for another appointment. You could even say, "I don't know what the next step was, but I didn't want to fall through the cracks. What should I be doing now? What's my next step or appointment?" Our doctor never lets us leave without another appointment scheduled -- good marketing skills! Good luck!
  18. Wow. Very nice article... I read the flame war one too. I think we've had a couple trolls here... they didn't stay too long, thank goodness! Others are hybrids, lol. (I'm so bad!)

  20. I love Propel! I try to not drink it TOO much, lol, but it's awesome! I love my calcium chew too, lol, I'm not giving it up! Wonder if you can OD on calcium, rofl. I'll work something up for the challenge... we've still got a few days before the 1st, we'll have it start then. Be thinking of things you want to add!
  21. Not in any way related to an RN, heh, but our surgeon told us we could take the bandaids off & leave them off after 24 hours. The steri-strips we were to leave on until they fell off (took about a week). Mikey still had one on when we went for our 7 day check-up, lol. The surgeon pulled it off for him.
  22. I always try to eat before I go for my fill... since I'll be doing liquids afterwards. My doctor doesn't have any rules, but that's what I do.
  23. I have a question about treatment too... do you HAVE to treat it? I mean, if you're not trying to get pregnant at the moment & you're one that has periods regularly, is it something that really needs to be treated?
  24. I'm at 1.6cc/4cc band. I can still chug water when I'm not full. I've had it back up a little if it's really cold, but I normally do room temp, so no worries.
  25. Wow Jessie! I just read the entire thread & I want more... keep 'em coming! Congrats on every single special moment you've earned!
