im new to this forum but i have so many questions i don't know where to start . first of all i need to have the lap band surgery i am 23 years old and i have a syndrome called polysitic ovarian syndrome i was told by having this syndrome this is the reason that i gained so much weight in such lil time anyways i have also been told that bc medical does not cover this surgery and for me thats a problem i need this surgery in order to remain alive and well but i do not have the $12,812.50 for this surgery so heres my question has anyone been accepted for covarge by bc medical for this surgey and if so what surgon and where i need help and i need it now im scared and i have no idea what is gonna happen to me if i dont get this surgery ... please help me anyone that knows anything about this please

Blue Cross varies from state to state, so no one can give you any specific information without knowing which state you're in. Also, you may have an employer-based plan, which will have different benefits and features than standard plans. I know there are states where Blue Cross does indeed cover bariatric surgery, including banding.

Have you investigated why they say they won't cover it? Many people have succeeded in getting denials overturned, depending on the reason for the initial denial.

As for PCOS, there have been other discussions about this. Search for PCOS in the Search feature and you'll find them. Good luck, and keep asking questions!!
