Orgain shakes are great - no bad sugars - tastes way better than Premier shakes. You can buy in bulk at costco Online. You can order a 4-pack at Walmart online to try them out. I like all 4 flavors, strawberry, chocolate, iced mocha and vanilla

I have purchased so many things over the last 6mo. That have been DISGUSTING but, I have FINALLY found a Protein Bar that makes me feel like I'm eating a Hershey or Snickers! It's actually GOOD!!!

( The chocolate brownie and choc chip cookie dough are GREAT)

(The chocolate birthday cake was NOT very good, too dry)

I have not tried any other flavors

Weighed in 278.4 day of surgery, 178.4 this morning. Sleeved 8/1 so just a bit over 10 months out.
Also, I'm officially out of the "overweight" BMI range. (my info says 25 but BMI calc says I'm justttt under it)

8/1 (surgery) - 1/18 (about halfway between then and now) - 6/11 (today!)
I'm 8.4lbs away from my initial goal but I think I might adjust to 150. Trying to get some kind of body fat testing done per suggestions in a thread I posted earlier this week so I can get a better idea of what's fat and what's skin.

This was my last comparisons pictures from about 5 weeks ago. Pic to the right was about 6/7 years ago maybe 10 to 15lbs away from 600lbs. I was at or near my heaviest weight back then. And I'm now here in the 240-250's weight range. That what my sleeve has helped me achieve so far.

My stall came to an end finally. I was down 40 pounds since surgery in February. Dropped two pounds this week after starting the C25k running trainer.
Went from a 14 to a 12 with no weight lost. I can live with that:-). Photo before was taken in December 2016. 6 weeks before surgery.

Today marks my one week post gastric sleeve surgery and I could not be happier! I am down 12 pounds this week. I am doing well getting 64 ounces of Fluid in a day in reaching my goal of between 30 and 40 g of Protein. I have been drinking the Premier Protein shakes which are 30 g of protein and only 1 g of sugar. And then also I live on chicken and beef broth because I love it! I eat a lot of Popsicles and Jell-O neither of which are sugarfree base on my physician stating I needed a little bit of the sugar for the carbohydrates, as I am a diabetic. Or at least I was a diabetic before the surgery we will see how it goes. 12 pounds can truly make a huge difference as you can see from the picture below
The first picture was taken in a week before surgery the second was taken this morning!

I'm probably alone in my opinion but I think if you have any doubts you shouldn't have surgery. You should only have surgery if you feel it is the best and only option.
That makes post-op life a lot easier to deal with, other than that, any doubt you have pre-op just get magnified post-op and the hurdle you have to jump post-op seem harder.

I was sleeved 4/19. I'm feeling great and have lost 42 lbs. I'm in another stall- first was at 3 weeks. Now I've been at the same weight for 10 days. I wish I could just throw the scale away, but I'm addicted to getting on it! [emoji6] I can see a difference in my face and chest, but thighs and waist are holding tight to the pounds! I did start back to Zumba last week, so hopefully that will help!

To the OP -- you can be miserable for no good reason or you can act like an adult. And yes, I know you're *only* 22 years old. You're still an adult.
None of that drama llama crap you're wallowing in is going to happen.
    Just follow your surgeon's instructions.
    Jeez.

Well, you need to find a supportive shrink.
GERD is 20% in the normal population and 10% in sleevers. Don't stress about it. Even if it is going to happen to you, worrying about it won't stop it, it will just make the situation worse.
Focus on losing weight and being healthy.
When people look at complication data, they forget that a lot of people were in terrible general health before they ever had surgery.
So since we have started down this path...
I'm looking at their blog http://suethsayings.blogspot.com/
This is what they have to say about the sleeve...
Really? because it is 5:30 PM and I have had 2 eggs, bacon, 32 ounces of coffee 32 ounces of iced tea, 32 ounce of Water, and 12 ounces of pork. My sleeve holds a lot. I'm about to suck down 100 grams (2 cups) of spinach. I still have 2 hours left to eat and I plan on doing some damage, LOL
They are completely ignoring ghrelin, but from the entire tone of their blog, they don't even research actual studies or science about surgery, claiming there is zero research.
@Deactivatedfatgal The person running that site and blog is bitter and deranged.
I had a friend from college, that had RNY back in the early 2000s. She had complications and ended up on a feeding tube. That sounds like a tragic story right? The part left out is 2 days after she was home she was drinking Coke (not even diet) and eating KFC (just a pinch to see if I can tolerate it she said). Her complications were brought on by herself. Not to mention she was not heavy enough to qualify for surgery and wore ankle and arm weights under her clothes to make her BMI high enough, Lots of people are not good cadidates for surgery but they don't tell that part of the story.
You can notice even around here when people say they regained, they NEVER tell exactly what they were eating and in what amounts. They keep it vague and say they were eating bad. If you were tracking their food and looking at their binges in print, they would be less likely to do that, but that isn't what happens.
So when people tell their WLS tales of woe, remember that there is more to the story.

That has basically been my approach. I do read people that tell stories here to see what symptoms they have so I can have an idea of what to be aware of.
Other than that, I walk my dog every day and I am more likely to get hit by car with my dog than have a WLS complication.

I'm one month post op and I have none! My experience with the pre op diet wasn't bad. It was for one week with 2 shakes and a healthy meal. My night in the hospital wasn't too bad either. Pain was managed with drugs! I had no gas pains in my shoulder fortunately. Just some discomfort which a heating pad helped. Overall my experience has been great! I feel great! I'm losing weight and I'm off my meds! Best decision ever! #noregrets

I am over a year post-op from getting the sleeve. The worst parts off the experience for me?
Probably waiting so long to decide to get the surgery, the pre-op uncertainty/anxiety, the little bit of gas pain in my shoulder post-op and some post-op Constipation, and not being able to get in the pool for four weeks post-op.
    In other words, not much.

Purplepassion41 reacted to blizair09 in How much can you eat?
At 8 months post-op, this is what I eat each day:
Meal #1: 1 scrambled egg with 2 oz chicken breast
    Meal #2: 4 oz cottage cheese with 1 T sugar-free strawberry preserves
Meal #3: 3 oz chicken breast, 1 string cheese, and 10 ParmCrisps
Meal #4: 3 oz salmon with 1 oz green Beans, and 5 ParmCrisps
Meal #5: 2 oz hamburger steak (93% lean) with 1 oz green beans, and 5 ParmCrisps
Meal #6: 3 oz chicken breast with 1 oz green beans, and 5 ParmCrisps
Meal #7: 3 oz chicken breast, 1 string cheese, and 10 ParmCrisps
    Meal #8: 4 oz cottage cheese with 1 T sugar-free strawberry preserves
I never get "full." I haven't let myself get there ever since the surgery, really. I have always focused on a set amount of food and gradually increased it over time. I could easily eat more at every meal; I just don't. (As an example, I could probably eat double the cottage cheese I eat, but I just won't do it.)
I'm up to 1500 calories now and I'll probably stay there for half the summer and then move to 1600. I'm gradually trying to inch my calories up as I am only 15 pounds away from maintenance. But I do that by adding an extra meal, not adding volume to existing meals.
    Good luck!

I've been very lucky. I've never felt nausea & have never thrown up. In the nearly three years since surgery I've had acid reflux many times, but have yet to throw up.
Worrying about something that may or may not happen is just torturing yourself. If you feel nausea, you'll treat it. If you throw up, you'll clean it up. You're going to be okay.
