Seattle WLS Newbie got a reaction from FAT TWO FABULOUS in Surgery on Monday
Good luck ladies! I feel your nerves, I'm now waiting for insurance approval. When I went into the hospital for my scope that was the first time I've even had an IV in my arm.

Seattle WLS Newbie got a reaction from Tarjou in Possibly switching to bypass because of GERD
Following this thread as I'm in a similar situation. I was set on sleeve as well and my Dr just diagnosed me with Barrett's syndrome and recommend that I consider RnY. Also looking to loose 100lbs.

Seattle WLS Newbie reacted to LeaninLanc in Checking in tomorrow and starting to get really scared
I also had high anxiety about the procedure, primarily because it was all an unknown to me and I'm used to being the one in control. I felt relieved when I leArned that I'd be given a relaxant in my IV very early in the OR process. I was afraid I'd struggle with this transition to being under the anesthetic. It was a wonderful moment to get awakened later in the day to see my hubby and daughter's face. You are stronger than you know and in a little over 24 hours this will be but a memory and you'll be on your way to a new life! Let us know how you do.

Seattle WLS Newbie reacted to shan0520 in Checking in tomorrow and starting to get really scared
I am tomorrow. Checking in at 845. I am nervous too. Like I researched and feel prepared but honestly feel like I can't expect it until I go through with it.
But we got this. We are stronger than our food addiction. We deserve a new and better life.

My surgeon definitely needed a lesson in not being a douchebag. But I hear that is the case with a lot of surgeons. I appreciate the fact that he is talented and did a good job on my surgery, but I'll never forget what a horrible person he was to my family and me on that day. (And I won't allow them to photograph me and use me in any of their advertisements because of it...)

Seattle WLS Newbie reacted to _Kate_ in Getting cold feet all of a sudden
Its normal! I think everyone thinks about the what ifs, hows and whys before surgery. Especially near to the date of surgery.
If you do need more time to decide between the sleeve and bypass, then I am sure your team would be able to support you with your decision, which is a huge one to make. I had one 20 minute 'omg what have I done' on day three when I was still in Hospital after the VSG. The other 18 months have been great. My only regret is not doing it sooner. Be kind to yourself xx

Seattle WLS Newbie got a reaction from lauratro in Anyone plan on sleeve and get bypass instead?
I was is the same boat. I've never really had reflux but my EGD revealed Barrett's as well. I was dead set on having the sleeve but after talking with my surgeon and doing more research I've decided to go with a bypass.

Thanks! I went to a WLS support group over the weekend and talked to a few folks about this as well. I'm feeling more comfortable with the change. Just a last min curve ball that threw me for a loop Hoping to meet with my surgeon again this week and submit for insurance approval.

Seattle WLS Newbie got a reaction from Judymo in April sleevers!?
I'm a fan of the Premier Protein shakes, taste great and easy for on the go. They are sold at costco so it's easy to buy in bulk as well.
