  1. Hey, hello there.. I am hoping to be banded either the end of July, but I think it will be more into August. I was required to do a six month medical supervised diet ( what a joke) and I will complete that July 13th, then my stuff goes to the insurance company... Then we wait.... wait... wait... I am praying that they aprove me this time! Everyone, send some karma this away on that week, I will sure appericate any help I can get! I will let everyone know... That is FOR SURE!
  2. Thank you! I have been worried about this. I really need to get off the the stuff, but you know how that is. Hopefully, like you, I won't need it after the surgery.
  3. Hey ya'll, Just wondering about my addition to Afrin nose spray. I have been using this stuff for the past twenty + years and now that my surgery will be coming up, I am worried about any issues. I haven't gone to my first consult yet, I am waiting to make sure my insurance covers the procedure first. I was just wondering if any of you had the same issue and how did you handle it?
  4. Hey, I want that (sex month) diet program!
  5. I am in the same boat. It is the most stupid thing I have ever done. You are supposed to fail. I am in the catch 22 mode, I really can't lost anymore or I will be under the BMI limit and I really don't want to gain anymore because I'll just have to lose it again... this is a requirement that is really a detourent for for the insurance companies. One more hoop for us to jumb through, hopeing that we will just give up... Girl, keep jumping!!!!!! July 13 is the last day for my "6 months". It goes by pretty fast, and I have been fat my whole life, so what's another few months.
  6. Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your support! You are all right, I just need to be patient and wait my turn.... I am just going through the motions, emotions, etc. of that "I am finally almost there!" Thank you again... You all are so great..
  7. Thank you everyone! I am excited to have the band.. I guess I am just going through the "what if's". If I could of lost the weight by myself, I would have. NO, I need the tool! Thank you again. I'll just keep plugging along until July 13th.
  8. Hey everyone! My 6 months of "supervised weighloss program" ends on the the 13th of next month.:faint: I have not seen my doctor yet. I have only attended the seminar (which was last November). I really wanted to make sure that everything went through with my insurance before I went in to talk to the doctor. So now, it's almost here and I am feeling alittle apprehensive about my selection of my surgeon. His office pretty much as said "call us when you are done with the program and we'll see then." I guess there really isn't anything that they can really do... It would just be nice if they were more interested. There have been so much talk about band slippage, erosion, infections.... I am wondering, (here) do I want to spend that much time and money on something that isn't going to work for me? Will it be something that will be a help for me the rest of my life? Is this a phase that everyone has gone through or is it just me being silly? Like I said I will be done with the program July 13 and hopefully will get to see the doctor there soon after, so maybe by the end of July or the first part of August will be my band date. Thanks for listening... My DH is sick of me!!!!:bored
  9. Alrighty then.... beat yourself up. You know what to do, then do it! Get back on track. Start right now! Your already mad at yourself. Take control. You have won the fight before and you can do it again! Just think about the weight you have lost, don't dwell on the gain. Just get back on track... You can win at this!!! You can do it!
  10. Me too!!!! I guess it's that, well this is it. I won't be able to have you anymore, so what the hell.... Anyway, you are not alone. I too, am hopefully going to be banded in July. I am trying to get through my "6 months of supervised weight loss program" which by the way, I have to fail at to be able to be approved by my insurance. Doesn't make much sense, does it. Just one more hoop to jump through.

    Amy: What episode was that?

My husband just pooh poohs it and never talks about it when it is brought up. He knows I know and thinks that people will think we are crazy. So he just refuses to talk about it with anyone. And I really think that he doesn't want to talk to me about it (even after all these years) because it makes it real. I have a nephew that was in the air force and he told me that he has seen things that he could not explain and that I wasn't crazy. The government knows alot they don't tell us.

Oh, he saw something! Not too long after that, he was standing looking out our window (upstairs) and the reflection from my daughters bedroom was (like shining and a reflection) on our window, but it looked like a bright light in the sky.. He said to me in a whisper, Dovie come here... take a look at that. He was scared. So was I, but as I moved in front of the window to look out, I must of blocked the reflection and the light was gone. I did that a couple of time and we were both relieved that we had not seen anything. So yes, he saw something, but he says he didn't.

Ok, Here's mine. My husband and I lived in Pueblo Colorado, (our hometown) It was May 12, 1982 (I believe). I was approx. 3 months pregnant. My husband was a manager for a well known fast food restaurant and was sometime called to go to the restaurant when the alarms would go off. A policeman would meet him and they would go into the restaurant and check things out..... Well this one night about 2am) the alarm company called and said that the alarms were going off all over the south side of the city and he would need to go to the store and check it our alone. I was nervous about that and decided to stay up and wait for him. It was a warm night and It had rained pretty hard, but had cleared and the air was so refreshing, I sat with the lights off at our kitchen table and watched for my husband to come up the street. The door was open with just the screen door between me and the outside. This is where it gets crazy. All of a sudden I heard this weird noise (almost like bacon frying) and the sound of a click (loud) and then a BRIGHT GREEN light came flooding into the house through the doors and every inch of area that was not covered by curtains etc. First the noise, then the light... This happened 3 times. I got up and walked to the front door (the screen) and looked out and was going to step out onto the porch and take a look up... I had this overwhelming feeling that "I don't want to see whats up there" about the time my husband come barreling up the road and jumps out of the car and yells "get in the house !" and pushes me back in. I asked what he saw and to this day he says that he didn't see anything. Now you tell me. what you think it was? Do i believe in UFO's? What do you think. I worried my whole pregnancy that something might be wrong with the baby. Nothing was, but I will never forget that and I still think that if I would have looked up I would of seen some kind of UFO.
  16. Thanks! It's so nice to have the support! I think everyone gets sick of listening to me:bored . It's a comfort to be able to come and talk to you all! Thanks again!
  17. Yes! I will keep squeaking! Thanks for the info. Good luck with your upcoming surgery. I am hoping everything will go well and I will be behind you in line. Always looking ahead..
  18. A Finger of Dovie is just enough to give your kids a treat. (What ever that means!?!)
  19. Hey thanks... I will call Dr.Carters office again. I am somewhat frustrated with the Insurance Coor at his office. I just can't seem to get straight answers from her. I don't know how many times that I told her that USMD and the center in FT. Worth were not in my PPO and ASKED what I needed to do. Wouldn't you think they would be a little more interested in getting my services and isn't all this research HER job? I just hope that this is not the way my followup services will be like. I am almost to the point of going somewhere else. I just am venting... Sorry! Thank you for your reply.
  20. Thanks Donna.... I am not giving up.. That is for sure! Yes, the insurance companies make it so damn frustrating!!!!!! Thank you for your input! I appericate your reply.
  21. I have been trying to work on that, however alot of the doctors that do WLS in my area, work strictly with a WLS surg. center or a specific hospital and that makes it hard to find a doctor and the hospital that are BOTH in the PPO Network. Thank you for the advise. I guess I just needed to hear someone tell me I wouldn't have to start over. Thanks again!
  22. Hey everyone... I need some advise. I am working on getting approval from my insurance for the surgery. I am currently doing the "required 6 month weightloss program that my insurance is requiring me to do. It was the only thing standing in the way of the approval (We will see:rolleyes: ) Anyway, this is the delima... My surgeon (who is in my ins PPO network) does his surgerys at USMD Hospital here in Arlington. He also does them at the "Speciality Surgery Center in Ft. Worth. Neither of these two locations are in my PPO network. I called the insurance coor. for Dr. Carter office and she said I should just wait until I am approved to worry about it. Well if I wait until July and found out that Dr. Carter can't do my surgery, I'm back to square one again and have to start over with another doctor. I guess I am looking for some insight from y'all as to what I should do now before july. I have been working and waiting since November. I am so close now, I don't want to have to wait again. What should I do?
  23. All my insurance requirements will be completed. However, that doesn't mean a darn thing. Anyway, hopefully everything will go well and I will get my surgery around the end of July!
  24. What was the reason for the denial? Maybe they don't have all the information needed, I know that working with my insurance has also been trying and I am making sure all my little ducks are in a row. I would call your doctor's office and have the insurance rep there give them a call and find out exactly what the problem is. They will be more willing to give the doctors office information (alot of the time) than to us. Most insurance companies will try whatever it takes to not have to pay. You just have to keep after them!! Don't give up! It is a long process. I'm right there with you, hopefully I will be approved in July. I am doing the 6 months now... according to my doctor's office, that was the only thing in my way. So come July we will see. Good Luck to you! Just keep trying!
  25. I am going through the same thing. Talk about a "catch22" (did I just date myself?!)LOL. Anyway, it is crazy. If I could of done it myself with diet and exercise, I would have. This is just another loop hole they want us to jump through, hoping that we will give up! I have been fat my whole life, what's 6 more months! Hopefully come July, I will be approved! Just hang in there. If you can't really afford to self pay... (like me) What's 6 more months. It will be here before you know it! (I keep telling myself) I am excited and don't want to wait either, but hang in there!
