This is just nuts! Why would you even consider doing these yourself? Spend all this time and money... Just to screw around and lose your band? I don't understand. I would NEVER do anything that might put me or my band in danger.

Hello there everyone! I live and work in Arlington, TX and My surgeon is Dr. Richard Carter. I was banded Sept.8th and am doing pretty good. Down 30 lbs! At least it is going the right way!

Yes, I did really well the first & second week, down almost 11.5 lbs but after I started eating REAL food it has just been really slow. I am happy to know that we all are in the same boat and that we are all doing what we are supposed to be doing. (Slow and easy!)

I haven't had to do this yet! But yesterday, Had this weird feeling in my throat and pretty soon kinda felt like I was going to throw up (kinda sort of) I went out and spit and the episode was over. Is that what ya'll are talking about?

I will be one week post opt tomorrow, and yes have the left shoulder pain! I had to actually lay down yesterday and put the heating pad on it. I did take some Gas-x as well. It is alittle better today and hopefully it will be gone by the weekend! Hang in there!

Any words of wisdom? I go for the preop testing on Sept 5th and my surgery is scheduled for the 8th. I am praying that everything goes well and I am done jumping thru the hoops. (I had to wait 6 months and then another month because my doctor got sick) I really don't want another snag... So...... any thing I should be doing now before the testing????

HI Y'all! My baby is a mini pom. He is black, 6 years old and weighs about 5 pounds. He is soooooooooo spoiled! We have him clipped in the summer because he gets so hot. (Not that he is ever really outside). We have spent more money on this dog then we ever did on our kids, but I am totally in love!

At the time of the murder, I lived in Colorado and it was pretty much on everybodies mind. I hope that they have evidence to prove he was the only person involved. There is just to much other stuff involved that doesn't add up. On Msn this morning, it said that he said that he "pick her up at her school and brought her to the house basement" Why was she at school in the middle of the night on a holiday???? and why was HE picking her up? See there is still to much we still don't know. Also where did he get the exact amount to ask for the ransom? (John's bonus)..... Just to many questions!!! It will be interesting to see what all comes of it!

Hi Denise: I am being banded on Sept. 8th. My orginal surgery date was August 11th, however as you probably already know.. Dr. Carter has been ill. I really hated to have to wait another month... but it's out of my control... You know just grin and bear it!

Actually, my surgery was postponed because my doctor got sick. He had a blood clot in his lung. So we had to reschedule for Sept 8th. So I am waiting again.... But it will be here before I know it! I will keep everyone up to date. I really appreciate your asking about me!!!! Thank you!

BabyJessica: Just to let you know, if you didn't get my email.. My surgery is sheduled for Sept 8th. I could of done it on the the 1st, but I am a controller for my company and need to be here for our end of the month closings. So it is the 8th.. I also had to choose between the the 1st and the 8th because I have to have my surgery at the Medical Center of Arlington and Dr. Carter only does surgery there on Fridays. Hang in there friend.. It will be here before we know it. I was upset too, but really it is out of our control. Just enjoy the rest of your summer and go on your trip and have fun. The next few week after that will be life changing! Hooray, I am ready for my life to change!

Hey all you August people... I just found out that I am being moved to Sept. What a let down. Here I was ready for Friday and have everything ready to go and the doctors office called and said that my doctor is cancelling all his surgeries until Sept. He is out sick. Now, I am just sick. Another whole month. What a disapointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Janet: Where are you? I know that Dr. Carter in Arlington, TX has it for sale from his office.

Thanks everyone! It is getting closer! I go today for my visit with Dr. Carter. He won't be there(due to an illness) but his nurses will be doing the orientation. I guess I really won't see him until the day of the surgery. That makes me alittle nervous. But then, I am getting nervous and soooooooooooooooo excited! Thanks again everyone! It is so nice to have someone to talk too!

Hey Girls Friends. :nervous I am schduled to have surgery on August 11th and I was just wondering if there is any problems should you start your period during the days before etc. I just know that everytime that I plan something, I always start. Hell the day of my wedding, I had a visitor.

Hey everyone! It is approved! My surgery is August 11 here in Arlington, TX. Dr. Richard Carter will be doing my surgery! I am really excited and a little scared as well. This will be my first real surgery and I will be 50 in January! I have had lasik 3 times, but never been under general, so that worries me a bit. I still can't believe it!!!!!!

Good Karma...Good Karma! I know the waiting is the hardest part! Was you your diet "medically supervised" That sometimes is an issue. I know that I had to see my PCP each month for 6 months to qualify. I just got my approval yesterday! I have been working on this now since November of last year! Just keep plugging along!

:faint: I can't believe it! I just can't believe IT! I got the word today that I was approved! I will believe it I guess when I have the letter in hand! Man, It has been a long haul! Soooooo, I am going to see Dr. Carter on August 1st and then my surgery is August 11th! Thank you all for listening to me cry and complain. Hey Carol, Welcome!!!! I haven't been banded yet, but wanted to tell you that you are from my home town. My Husband and I also opened the McDonald's in Canon City, Co and lived up there for about 3 years. Both my husband and I graduated from South High School and lived there until 1998 when we moved down here to Dallas. Anyway WELCOME! You will be getting some GREAT advice from these folks.

Yes, everyone, It's done! I had my last "supervised appointment" today. I called the surgeon office and let them know to request the info from my PCP and then I called my insurance company to let them know that they would be hearing "again" from the surgeons office. So now it's that waiting game.... Hopefully it will be a quick answer and the one I want! I did go ahead and send a personal letter of request, even though that was not a requirement. All the hoops have been jumped, I think!?! Anyway, Thank you all for your input. I will let everyone know as soon as I know! Keep the Karma coming this away! Thanks again everyone!
