I lost 11 pounds in the first few days after coming home... and then started gaining and losing the same 2 pounds over and over to the point I decided to only weigh once a week instead of daily.
I am still on full liquids until Tuesday... in the meantime what I do is at 730, 1030, 130, 430 and 730 each day, I try to have something OTHER than Clear Liquids.
For instance, a few spoons of yogurt, some Soup, a couple ounces of Protein shake, etc. The rest of the time I sip, sip sip! I do Water, crystal light, or sugar free popsicles to the tune of 40-60 ounces a day in between those times (remembering to give myself a break of no Clear Liquids 15 to 30 minutes before and after each thing that is not clear liquid, so I'm not filling up on Water at "meal times"... cause that makes it harder to get my Protein in).

Hi all. I am officially 8 weeks post op tomm. So my 2 month pic is one day premature , lol. I am currently 186 lbs today. Surgery was 12/5/16 and surgery weight was 219 lbs. soooo, I am currently 33 lbs down since surgery. My preop weight was 242lbs....so total weight loss since July 2016 is 56 lbs , yay. So, this is what 186 lbs looks like on me. Not perfect but I'm 36 lbs away from my goal weight of 150 lbs. I am still a work in progress but I'm proud of my progress this far.

The statistics were against me. I went to the hospital completely unsure if I would have the courage to go through with my surgery, and terrified I would die. No one... I promise you, NO ONE, ever wanted to have bariatric surgery less than I. I was an emotional food addict whose life had shrunk so much that food was my entire social life. I weighed 367.8 pounds, had out of control diabetes, and could no longer walk across my own kitchen on most days. I needed both knees replaced and my doctor refused to do it until I lost a lot of weight.
The night before my surgery I was alone in the house and I sobbed a funeral dirge for my best friend, food. I was certain I would lose my mind without it.
My friends, are you hesitating?? Struggling? Regretting?? If you can stay with me, read on.
I will tell you that after the first month there hasn't been one day in five years that I haven't thought, "I never could have done this before."
My journey has been difficult, and you will have your struggles, too. The first year, I cared for and buried my beloved sister--my "person" in this world--who died in my arms. The second year, I had my right knee replaced. The third year, my left knee. My weight loss stalled, but I never gave up. The fourth year, my father died and right afterwards, my husband almost died and needed months of nursing.
I didn't tell you all that to whine. I told you in order to try to put some context to my life, because in spite of all that sorrow and pain, I am filled with joy. I have taken back my life, and you can, too.
When I came out of my surgery, I vowed that having taken the drastic step of altering my body, I was going to be all in. I have honored that vow.
I had to learn to walk again. Now I am a landscape, wedding and portrait photographer.
I had to accept that I couldn't go on vacation and eat like the old me without gaining back weight it took me months to lose. Now I usually drop a couple of pounds on vacation, and I have one thing every day that I really want. To eat, that is!! I get to have experiences instead of food now!
I had to accept that carbs are not part of my daily eating. But I have learned to actually prefer zucchini spaghetti!!
Most importantly, I learned that no one will ever abuse me again. And that includes me.
I learned that emotional eating may feel like self care, but it is self destruction, and self destruction and self preservation can never exist side by side.
Last year, I photographed the cliffs of Maine, the mountains of West Virginia (going by rope down to the waterfalls), beaches in the Carolinas, and so many other things. (Check out my stuff at mlwolfephotos.com if you are inclined!).
I could babble on and on...
Today, I am at my lowest weight in 34 years. I have not met my weight loss goal. I'm still just over 200 pounds--a weight many people begin this journey at!! It may take me a year, but I'll get there.
On January 1st I turned 60, and I cried. A lot. I didn't cry because I was 60. I cried because I wasted so many years... My 30s... My 40s...half my 50s. I cannot get them back. But I have what's left, and I will cherish each breath.
So, I lost much of my stomach. I lost 153 pounds. I gained the world.
I wish that for each and every one of you! May you work to make all your dreams come true!
Attaching a few pics, not just of what I look(ed) like, but of who I am!!!

You can do it! I was a nervous wreck before surgery, from the pre op diet to going under, I was having a million racing thoughts and second guessing everything. I'm just 6 DAYS post op, so I was in your shoes less than a week ago.
One thing that helped me was reminding myself that I made this decision when I was in a good date of mind. Rest assured in the knowledge you've equipped yourself with in making that informed decision.
    You'll do great!

I understand, I had second thoughts too, esp. during my 12 day liquid diet. Your emotions are up and down and every which way in between. We have about the same stats. I am 11 months post op and down 81 pounds. It was the best decision I ever made, I wish I had done it a lot sooner. Dig deep down in your heart, write a list of why you are doing it. Then a list of your fears. If you really feel you are not ready and need more time, reschedule it. But if your reasons outweigh your fears, hang in there and stick to the liquid diet. I had the normal feelings of regret and "buyers remorse" a few days after sugery, but by the second week I was feeling like myself again and those feelings went away. You can do this, keep coming back to this site, ask a lot of questions. I wish you the best with your decision.

    Hey all,
Just wanted to suggest a Protein solution that I found per a suggestion from this board.
I can't take another Protein shake. I just can't do it. I've been on them for a month now and I'm fairly confident I'll never willfully drink one again. I'm only 6 days post op and since I'm so sick of them I came to this app and saw someone suggest Protein Water. Water is the only thing I ever want to drink. I don't want the shakes or anymore Gatorade. I went on Amazon and found liquid Protein by Bariatric Choice.
My goodness has this been a blessing! To his point I've barely been able to consume anything besides plain water (I've always loved drinking water). But now I get something similar in taste to Crystal Light with 15g of protein per serving. You just add the Liquid Protein to the water and sip sip sip!
I can't tell you how happy this has made me. I now feel a lot more confident about being able to stick to my doctor's requirements without feeling absolutely miserable and deprived during his liquid phase.
Also, I was on here feeling pretty low in the days following my surgery. I'm sure I'll have more of them and I know you all will be there to lift me up, so I sincerely thank you all for your support. I'm more of lurker than a poster but I just wanted to share my protein find and my gratitude.

    9 days post-op
So, we had tickets to the theater last night. We had to do so many errands yesterday that before I knew it, it was time to leave. When we got down there I knew I was behind on liquids and Protein for the day, which was my own fault. The casino/hotel has a food court so I figured I'd see what I could find while she went and gambled a little prior to the show. Well I couldn't find anything, until I came to the Chinese station, there I was left with 2 options Wonton Soup or Hot & Sour Soup. I a little hesitantly chose hot & sour figuring I'd go slow to see if I could tolerate it. Well it was amazing, taste, texture, flavor, I had absolutely no problems and thought it was great. I ate from the small cup twice. I'm sure sodium was terrible but everything else was great on my taste buds. Anyone else eat this? If it's okay I could see myself eating that style alot.
p.s. 12,549 steps yesterday, no idea when was the last time I walked that many.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for awhile and decided to start contributing!
I'm currently 19 days post op and doing pretty well! I've had a few days of "what the hell did I do?" but I'm keeping my eye on the prize! I've had very little issues, I can eat and drink with no problems and my Sleeve has tolerated different foods well!
I started at 301 in July, was 271 on the morning of surgery and was 256 today so slowly losing!
I start soft solids this Friday on my meal plan, I need help with that though, what are some meal ideas? My local group said it was anything you can cut with a fork but that's pretty broad!!
    Thanks!

    Hello and welcome to BP
I am 9 weeks post op and on regular foods.
For the soft food stage, I ate scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, a little banana for fruit. My nutritionist said canned pineapple was ok, so I would put that in my cottage cheese or yogurt for Breakfast.
For lunch I would have moist cut up chicken breast meat or chicken thigh meat, wild alaskan sockeye salmon, refried Beans, mashed carrots, canned green Beans. Every now and then I would have some sweet potato, but I really tried to keep my carbs to a minimum.
dinner would be much like lunch. I was also told that I could have moistened ground beef during the soft food stage, but I waited to try it until I reached the regular foods stage.
For Snacks I had hummus, yogurt, string cheese, or cottage cheese.
Since surgery, I have been making sure that I eat my Protein first, so when I said that I would eat some carrots, green beans, or sweet potato.... I only limited it to a few bites of those things.
    Hope that helps.
OH! Also, there is a great recipe for ricotta bake out there. Just google it and you will find it. It's really good and I was able to have that during the soft food stage.
