Congratulations to all of you just beginning this journey to a healthier you! I am at the beginning of the next stage of the journey, surgery is scheduled for next week!
You won't believe how fast time will go by before you too will be nearing your surgical date, if you stay with the process. It is not always easy, and often very frustrating. But as you forge ahead, keep in mind what brought you to this decision as it well help you to stay motivated to achieve your goals!
Good luck and I look forward to reading your progress as you go!

I got my stamp of approval today with my insurance! I was in my kinder classroom when I got the news. I jumped for joy first to thank My Lord and then I did the happy dance and of course the kids danced with me. After a sec or two one asked .. who's birthday is it and the reply was " it must be her birthday I think adults have them everyday! Well it's not my birthday it's my new day! So excited that it's my turn to Celebrate to my new beginning! Now waiting to find out surgery date.

I am using my fitness pal which tracks all of that plus has a journal. I keep it to myself however. It is helpful on days where it seems I'm not making progress. Keep me focused.

At Walmart, I bought a beef and chicken bone broth. Really good and high Protein as compared to regular broth. You can also add unflavored Protein to it for more. Just be sure to add it while it's cold, stir it in good before heating. Otherwise it just clumps.

I don't like Water in my shakes, except for Syntrax Nectars.< /p>
Usually I make my shakes with low calorie/unsweetened soy or almond milk (gives the shake a richer taste). My two favourite shakes at the moment are:
a - 1-2c. almond and/or soy milk, 1/2 banana (optional), 1 scoop Syntrax chocolate powder, 2 tbsp PB2 Peanut Butter powder, 1 tbsp chia seed powder.
b - 1-2c. almond and/or soy milk, 1/2 cup frozen berries, 1 scoop Syntrax vanilla powder, 1 tbsp chia seed powder. To make it really thick, like a milkshake, I'll use a small block of fresh tofu.
@sleevinpops: I love the idea of using SF jello/pudding powder to add variety to the shakes, but they're not an option for me in Japan (nor anything even remotely resembling Fairlife). However, I hope to pick up at least a few boxes of a variety of flavours when I'm in the States next week.

I bought the isolate zero carb vanilla and low carb chocolate. I have been experimenting with different flavors by adding sugar free Jello (0.75 grams per 8 oz shake). Got some great concoctions! Cheesecake, Peanut Butter cup, butterscotch, white chocolate, even splitting the 0.75 portion between combined flavors just to keep it interesting! So far I have gotten some really good flavors. I am mixing with just cold Water, but you can also do this with low fat milk (I use FairLife) A friend of mine runs a shake shop, so gonna get some ideas from him and will post. All are high Protein and 0 sugar, LOW CARBS!
Just another suggestion, Add 4 cubes of ice, blend for a minute and you've got a smoothie! Blend for 2 minutes with ice, then freeze, you have a great dessert!
I'd love to hear other recipes as well!

I cant and wont give you specific dating advice, (ive been with my husband a long time ) but I will say good for you for trying something new ! Dating or meeting people isnt easy, but to start somewhere, you have to have some things to talk about, so start getting involved with some hobbies etc. You'll have "something " to put on your profile and/or things to talk about should you meet someone. Good luck !!

Although I haven't had surgery yet, and will probably be feeling the same in the coming weeks, I will try to keep in mind the 6 months of preparation for this along with the long term benefits. That way I can tell myself "it sucks, but it's only a couple weeks"
    Keep strong!

I'd say, give it up now. Carbonated drinks are not going to be your friend or go to drink after surgery. Best to say bye-bye now.
