Check with your nutritionist, I know mine was not convinced about the Vitamin Patch, had me change to chewables (honestly in my own opinion since changing, my energy level is through the roof) but they know your situation better.

Well, after 7 months of prep, nutrition classes, exercise program diet change...it's finally here! Tomorrow morning at 8:30 and i will be joining the losers bench. Good luck to my fellow 9th sleevers also going!

Congratulations! I'm going this Thursday. Can't wait to join the losers bench!
I have been arranging things at home to be easily accessible, stocked up on Protein, shakes, Jello and Vitamins.

My surgeon advised against liquid vitamins. Was not convinced they are absorbed as efficiently as chewables.

My CPAP has a heated hose to provide a humid air flow. Helps the dry mouth. If you have the same, try adjusting humidity level.

Hey everyone. I'm new to this site- my surgery is 2/16/17.. and I'm currently in my pre-op diet phase. Any advice??

Really spend time researching and reading about the surgery, how you need to care for yourself afterwards, what each food stage is and how to make this a long term sucess story. Prepare for coming home by having things in so you don't have to go shopping. Have support arranged for when you get home. Keep busy, the pre op diet isn't easy to do, so keep your mind and body busy.

Me too Spuds. My date is 2/6. That's tomorrow!!!! Yesterday I was wack. Today I'm calm although still nervous about the surgery itself.

Premier Protein are very good & 30 grams of Protein. For powder, Isopure is very good, high protein low and no carb flavors or sugar. Also try PB2, it is Peanut Butter powder, good protein and low carbs good for mixing into chocolate shakes. You can also add 1tsp of sugar free Jello flavors to any powder mixed to make different kinds of flavors.

My date is February 8th I'm a wide range of emotions!!!

The 6 months flies by... especially if you are trying to lose the weight they asked you to. I lost 25 pounds in the 6 months and my recovery was beyond smooth

I had a 6 month process, and at first I was disappointed, but now I'm happy to have had that time to really prepare. This is a major lifestyle change. If it were quick, I don't think I would be as prepared mentally , physically or spiritually.
I was able to create health habits, like walking every day. Cutting out sweets, and learning to eat properly, quitting smoking etc.
I am scheduled to have my surgery next Thursday (woohoo!) and feel that I am in the right place now to take this next step. After all, this is a journey, and not an overnight quick fix.
In hind sight, I can't believe how fast the time has gone, but I appreciate all I have learned, and those that are supporting (including those I have met here). I believe it will help me to be successful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I had to wait 6 months but had a appointment every month with my weightloss doctors. It flew by! In the beginning it felt like this is going to be forever. I kept myself busy and did what I had to do. I was happy it wasn't 9 months like some people had to wait! I lost 40lbs in 6 months. They didn't tell me I had to lose in order to get the surgery. They wanted to make lifestyle changes and that lead me to losing weight. Now I'm almost 2 weeks post op with the sleeve and I love it!!
