  1. I'm so happy to hear all is well. Congrats on your loss!!
  2. Awe thank you for the inspiration! Great job too.
  3. Gas x and bathroom relief sounds like extreme gas. I ended up in the ER with terrible excruciating pain on my side. They did all kinds of tests, etc. sent me home cause everything was negative. Lo and behold, gas moved a few hours later, quite painfully, and it expelled. Relief. So, if it's just coincidence with how you eat and the pain, it could just be gas. Really bad gas. Hope it's nothing more though. I pray you get total relief hon.
  4. Me too. But I gaIned and my hubby has been blessed with a very high metabolism. Had babies. Sure, stress helped at times. Boredom during bedrest, for sure. But I don't have a childhood trauma or anything of the sort. I was a very happy, skinny kid. I just got comfortable around 28 years of age. ? Oh, and my psych evaluation went something like this "well, there's nothing to be concerned about with you." Did my questionnaire and she said "your eating is good too, no worries there." Guess I ate the wrong foods!!!
  5. You just described what I couldn't put words to! Such simple words that have such a huge impact on us. Thank you! And congratulations on your ?!!! Great job!!!!
  6. Always nice to know we're not alone and there's truly hope. Thank you for this. ?
  7. I wasn't given so much a detailed diet. More like tips to get ready. I think it's a given to eat better though. My tips and changes are: replace breakfast with protein drink/shake wait 30 mins after eating to drink liquids during meals, eat two bites protein then one bite veggie. If any starch, eat last. Sip water. Eliminate caffeine.
  8. I'm pre-op. I do very well throughout the week. But when the weekend comes, it's out the door. I don't overly indulge in anything though. I don't have a sweet tooth either. I don't cook on weekends, so it's "eat whatever". I'm working on meal planning and prep as well. Like @Diana Prince mentioned, it'll be easier to stick to post op due to the body changes and restrictions. It's the head we'll have to battle, unless you want I risk losing your life with complications of not following orders.
  9. Exactly what @ColleenErin1974 says!
  10. Awww...it would be very hard to see my husband going through anything of the sort. (He doesn't have to, but I couldn't imagine having to see it on him). Bless your wife's heart. Fortunately my husband has seen me through several surgeries (laparoscopic and cesarean) so it's not too bad. I'll for sure have him look at photos and videos of any kind of plastics when the time comes though. It's good to be reminded. Thanks!
  11. Congratulations! I hear the excitement in your writing! ? Blessings on your journey hon!
  12. Oh wow!!!! Great job!!!
  13. Did you read the website attachment? I cannot list it all here...at work presently. Please read for your enjoyment and education. My key words before is CICO is "NOT ENTIRELY TRUE"
  14. Not entirely true. Be open to the science and why this is a myth. Also, I gained weight from NOT ENOUGH CALORIES-but entirely the wrong food choices and I regularly exercise. My doc was always on to me for not eating enough. Check out the why. https://authoritynutrition.com/debunking-the-calorie-myth/
  15. I won't watch any kind of surgery on video. I even hate the pics that are supplied after surgery. Won't have the stomach for it! LOL ....pun intended
  16. I agree with it all. Just wish I was born with a high metabolism! (Then I wouldn't be here.) but alas, my gracious God doesn't want me to be lazy so I must pay attention to the numbers at very least until I've got it down for what my body needs. Thank you for your input. I need to check in to the RMR tests
  17. Lol...poisons? My dad is a physical therapist (40+ years) and is looking to do personal training when he retires in a few months. He wouldn't be a fan of the leg extension either and surely wouldn't do that fad crap nor pyramid thing. Playing safe? Absolutely, he would show you correct form for every exercise with how your body is made to move so you won't be injured. ? And if you have personal challenges, see to it that you can do what you want to achieve with what you can/cannot do. I see people doing weights/form incorrectly. So much that I've tapped them on shoulders and showed them how to do it and why. I am my father's daughter. ?? So, of course I'm biased, but not all are poison. ? Thanks for sharing the info above though. Good read!
  18. I can imagine it might feel like a chore to do to try and eat the deficit just to maintain. If it becomes that way for me, I'll end up lightening my workout load a bit. Although I love weights, I just need a good walk daily for fitness anyhow. I plan to be here 2 years out and on...I'd love for people to be inspired with what I do or don't do. Thanks for being here hon. I always enjoy your posts!!!
  19. I'm real sorry to read and hear of them as well. I know quite a few ladies I mentor who are in abusive relationships and it does usually stem from the men as the abuser. But there are plenty of mean and nasty-spirited women as well. With that said, I don't want to ever think a great marriage/relationship couldn't happen because they can! I have one. I agree with @OutsideMatchInside though, the surgery isn't the problem...there are/were issues before that the surgery may have "fueled the fire" Blessings to you @Dknal2 EVEN SO...it is well with your soul. Right?
  20. This made me smile. It's awesome you and your mom are doing it together! I'd love my mom to do it, but she's got too many health problems to deal with it. Many blessings to the both of you!
  21. Absolutely! We must die daily to our flesh which includes harboring on hurts, etc. forgiveness is a must!
  22. Congratulations hon! It'll be here before you know it! How exciting
  23. I remember that one too. It was sad to hear.
  24. This is what I will be doing when I hit goal. Not to screw up my metabolism by eating less than what I should be at 5'6" and 145ish.
  25. Congrats!!! I think you look great in both pics! ?
