  1. Breakfast: scrambled egg with bacon and cheese snack: cold brew mocha coffee with chocolate premier protein drink lunch: scrambled egg with bacon, cheese, and black beans refried Dinner: turkey medallions with mushrooms and green beans snack: 30g protein muscle builder drink ( drank way too fast and now I'm feeling it!...lesson learned)
  2. I didn't tell my mother for a while. Maybe about a month before surgery I finally blurted it out. I am happy to say she was happy for me (she changed!!!), but because the way she was, very opinionated about how I should live and do what she says. I'm 38.
  3. So happy for you! A new chapter of life that you so deserve to have with freedom and happiness. You look absolutely wonderful and stunning too hon. Love it all!!!!
  4. Congratulations Shrinking Gordon!!! You've done an awesome job. Keep it going!!
  5. Kind of wls related which will determine how much time I can spend on myself (weights, new recipes, etc) but probably find a new job or go back to being a stay at home mom. We'll see what comes of it by Labor Day and what hubby thinks too. I guess I should tell him. Ha! ? Also, it's too early in the journey to use a bathing suit/clothes as a motivation for myself , so I guess I'll be just focusing on getting my weights in really. im building my muscle back up but without all the extra fat. My goal is to become toned. Might not finish in the summer but it's a start.
  6. I switched to the patches after wanting to throw up with the chewable bariatric tablets. So, we'll see what my 3 month post op appt shows. July 6. I feel fine though. Don't feel all run down with no energy. I suspect they're working. ?
  7. The scale may have not moved but I'm sure your measurements did. I don't believe you stalled at all. ?
  8. Absolutely! I've always had a "thin girl" mentality, so when I saw the number "266" (that was my highest weight), I had to think the same, health problems.
  9. I'm sorry you have to deal with that as my doc and nut are preaching the same thing. I think you should for sure focus on your protein, but you may have to find what works best for you as well. Find something that you will want to do for the rest of your life, that's sustainable for you. You may need to really educate yourself on how/why things work or don't. Sorry part is that there's so many conflicting arguments out there (like your team). But again, find what will truly work for you hon. Blessings on your journey!
  10. I was cleared at 3 weeks post op for everything as long as I listened to my body. I had a pain on my right side for a couple of weeks (2&3) and had to take it easy, but it's gone now and I've been doing heavy weights, minus the abs for now. I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow.
  11. I have a question, tomorrow we have completed 4 weeks post op. But Thursday is the 15th of the month. Are y'all going based on weeks for the one month post op date or the actually day for it? I'm leaning towards the 15th of every month. It'll be easier for me to track.
  12. @Apple1, I see you!!! ? Love the pic...now a face to you. I'll be posting mine tomorrow! Along with some before pics.
  13. I'm just at about 4 weeks and working out, weights and all. Check with your doc.
  14. Y'all are gonna tire of me talking about the gym! Lol. Had an amazing workout. Did a little cardio, then did some weights. I almost did a full body today. So happy about that. It was just me and a bunch of young guys that could be my kids (if I had them young). Ha! Enjoyed my hour and 15 mins alone jamming to a mix of reggae, rock, and hip hop. Felt so good, I rolled the windows down in the truck and jammed out on the way home. Btw, my truck feels bigger now. I can only imagine it being moreso months out from now. Lol
  15. My plan is encouraged to eat complex carbs. But being so early in post op, it's not easy to get them in anyway for me.
  16. Indeed it is a great year for you!!! Many kudos to your SIL too, I am a step parent as well, there are hardships, but I truly love my step daughter as my own. Blessings to him.
  17. Breakfast: Egg omelet with cheese Snack: Pistachios (my fave) Lunch: Mango tequila lime shrimp (finally finished the last of it!!!) Snack: Sea Salt Vinegar protein chips Dinner: Italian style wedding soup Snack: not sure yet. Still need to up my protein, probably a protein drink soon. Also need to hit my weights. ?
  18. I'm so excited to be following in your steps then!!! One month post op shortly here, just another 4 months, wow! Congrats hon!!
  19. Say what!? That's a great surprise and day out! I'm happy for you all!!! The ages are truly spaced. Lol. I'd say it's the last one too! Lol.
  20. Great surprises are always nice to have!!! I'm looking forward to them myself.
  21. All those fit bodies are self conscious too, that's why they're always trying to improve. Remember that. ? I was a fit one before and always thought I had more to do. It's a ridiculous notion now when I think of it. I think I'll be way smarter this time around and just enjoy where I get being healthy. And it's not all appearances anymore either, as I've learned to not care what others really think of me. But I do have to say, when I gained most of my weight after my pregnancies, I was embarrassed to go back to the gym but I knew I had to work on getting the fat off, which I never did. Now, it'll just be so much easier to get healthier faster.
  22. I think it's great too! And yes, you are so young, you should go for it!!! You'll be a hot sexy mama, for yourself and hubby. Lol I'm just about ten years younger than you, I am for sure doing a lift. ?
