  1. Peach Oikos & 1/2 of a granola bar is better than a ice cream sundae. Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  2. I understand your comparison Jamie...I accept alot of health issues with being overweight. But, what I won't do is be a lab rat for prescription drugs companies. I've never been a pill popper and never will be. You must take charge of your body....it will tell you what it likes and what it doesn't like(side effects). There are natural ways to heal the body....not every ailment needs a synthetic drug. I do believe in medication but I don't believe in the FDA. Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  3. I've also heard drinking Water with baking soda in it...is better than any PPI on the market. My surgeon swears by PPI's...but, she also gets a piece of the pie for writing a prescription for it as well....smh Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  4. I understand your frustration. It's a boat load of information and appointments. It's really a major change in your life. Therefore, getting prepared to alter your body requires a lot of necessary paperwork, blood test, etc....These test helped me prepare my body for surgery. It showed me what nutrients my body was missing...Hang in there!!!...I'm sure it will all be worth it....invest in yourself! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  5. To my understanding, Everyone who has weight loss surgery will be put on PPI before & after surgery. However, they are causing severe damage to our kidneys! With knowing this information, Will you still take them? Me: I'm very concerned about taking PPI's....I have refused them so far but, I get my surgery date tomorrow and I know my surgeon will prescribe them to me.....not sure what do ??? 9. If I needed to lose 10 quickly I would cut out all white foods (bread, rice, potatoes... Starches AND SUGAR). Eat protein and green vegetables. I just lost 5.5 pounds in 7 days. I didn't count calories, I didn't limit portions and I was not hungry. If I was I had some cheese or green Beans or a couple of pieces of bacon. Today I start week two. I have 7 pounds to go. Pre-op, 61 YRS, 5'5" HW 247, CW 223, BMI 37 Thank you...Great advice! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App

  13. I totally agree on stripping down to the lighter clothes when weighing in....I will definitely change my wardrobe...I did have on a pair of big suede fury boots that I swear contributed to at least 2lbs. Thanks for the tip!..Greatly appreciated! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  14. The easy answer is this: When you stop doing what worked before, it doesn't work anymore. When you stop: Eating Protein first Drinking at least 64 oz of no calorie, low calorie fluids Limiting sugar, white carbohydrates, and calorie laden drinks Moving more than sitting Not drinking with meals Eating mostly fresh, non processed food Eating tons of colored veggies Weighing yourself to hold yourself accountable you will gain. Pretty much it in a nutshell. What you left out is the mental aspect. Fear and hope were motivators. You get comfortable. You lose and feel good. You forget the struggle. Like most women who have experienced childbirth. You forget the pain until you are pregnant again lol They joy of a new body. For some a new life. You forget about your struggle until the scale or your body starts to remind you. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App So true! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App

  16. I'm going to do something I've done during a fitness class a few years ago. "Nature's Sunshine" has an all natural Vitamin cleanse...called "ParaCleanse". It's a 10 day cleansing and elimination of the bowels. You must eat clean for those 10 days...no sugars..no alcohol...and...it comes in 10 individual packs which include licorice root, dandelion, etc..that you take everyday for 10days...on this alone...u shed 7lbs..in 10 days...at least I did.... I'm desperate guys....summer & my birthday is coming quickly...The surgeon lit a flame under my ass today...I'm on FIRE !!!....Run, Walk, Crawl...I'm in it for the long haul!...Let's kiss this weight GOODBYE! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  17. Fierce!!Your on Fire!!!...You got that glow..You look gorgeous!....Thank you for your motivation....Loving them lace ups...Twirl on! (smile) Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  18. Yes, I agree...It's thick but, so tolerable...a few spoonfuls...and instant Protein....I like it at room temperature ...when it's too cold...it gets thicker & becomes tasteless. Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  19. That's unfortunate...but, Keep the Faith...Nothing is easy!...There are so many hills and valleys to climb during preop ...it's almost worth a trip to a psychologist. But, Keep your eyes on the prize!...It will happen..when it's SUPPOSE to happen! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  20. I'm a 46H...and I like to tie the "girls" down ????...if I'm laying on my back for too long....I almost suffocated myself during a previous procedure....However, the FIRST thing I do when I get home...is escape out my bra..and fling my shoes in the closet...Ahhhh!!! FREEDOM???? Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  21. Well, met with my surgeon for the first time today. She was delightful and optimistic. However, she says I need to lose 10 pounds in two weeks and then she will add me to the schedule for surgery. Was I surprised? No, I've been moderately indulging in the foods that I will miss during my weight loss journey. I haven't gained any or loss any since my last weigh in a month ago. Therefore, I'm on it!....More miles on my treadmill...cut out the sweets, and curb the carbs....I know what to do....Now, I have to do it!....I love a challenge and I love to prove people wrong....so in 14 days...I will see if I'm SERIOUS about this surgery. This forum answers so many unknown questions and I appreciate the bold honesty of everyone in here....We all are on a mission and won't stop until the mission is complete....Hang in there!!! Let's Get It! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm from Michigan...Going through the Beaumont Weight Loss Center/Canton.....Wonderful, caring and concerned doctors, nurses, etc...I'm preop and moving closer to a date for surgery. Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  23. Yes, I took the tour, very nice. I did my first meeting at the Wayne location. However, I chose Beaumont/ Royal Oak for my procedure. Dr. Kathyrn Zeigler will be doing my sleeve. I meet with her Friday...hopefully, I will get my surgery date then. Congratulations on your surgery...You will be ready for the summer! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  24. Thank you for being so honest. I'm concerned about the weight gain years down the road...it's a true reality.... Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  25. Thanks for sharing this info. May I ask, what attributed to your weight gain? Had you started back eating what made you heavy to begin with? I'm preop and just observing real life stories concerning how to keep the weight off? I know it's a struggle...but, how can we maintain the weight loss?
