Brenda15 reacted to #fitnotfat in 3 days out, remorseful, worried and depressed
Hi James you sound like I felt 3 weeks ago, I regretted having surgery and felt down and remorseful but honestly give it a few days and you will start to feel better I promise, my dad said to me the day after surgery " in 2 weeks you will look back on this nightmare and be thankful you did it", he was right, so keep going you are doing amazing and everything will fall into place. Big hugs coz you will need them xx

Brenda15 reacted to sleevinpops in 3 days out, remorseful, worried and depressed
James, after such change to your body, it is not uncommon to feel like you do. Keep focused on the reasons you did this and the positive changes that are to come. 18 pounds is a great start, and while the weight loss will be great in the long run, think about all of the things you will be able to do that was difficult before.
What are some things that you have always wanted to do before but haven't been able to? Keep positive, your gonna do great!
By the way, walking has been the best thing for my gas. Keep moving!

I too stopped caffeine two weeks before switched to Decaf. But a week after surgery My doctor said I can have a cup a day of caffeinated So I do. It takes more than a cup to get dehydrated from caffeine. Just make sure you drink plenty of Water too.

Brenda15 reacted to Brandeis in LADIES ONLY! Tmi but I need help!
It IS possible that weight loss can mess with your period -- make it late, or early, or come extra times. So this could just be that! But if you're worried, definitely go to a doctor.

Brenda15 reacted to Dairymary in Anybody on Atkins?
I did Atkins several times prior to WLS. I always lost weight, but would pile it back on once I started eating "normally" again. Just like every other fad diet out there. My suggestion for post WLS success is to create habits and an eating pattern that you can follow for the rest of your life. If the Atkins lifestyle is something that appeals to you then great! But if not, then work on developing your own plan that gets you to your goal and allows you to stay there.

Brenda15 reacted to Newme17 in What's Your Goal Weight Gift to Yourself?
Ooh, that's very meaningful. I was thinking what I could do to make the lace tat more meaningful in regards to losing the weight but can't think of anything. ? I do think I might place a tiny tat on the top of my hand near the thumb and forefinger, not sure what that area is called, that's says something to the tune of "never again 266" <---that being my highest weight. It'd be a constant reminder.

Brenda15 reacted to kar12345 in I must eat about 8 sugar free popsicles a day
Ordered popsicle molds and made my own orange creamsicle. I use Bariatic Advantage Orange Cream shake mix (27g Protein) and use 8 oz of Fairlife nonfat milk (13g protein) instead of Water . Mix well in blender. Makes 6 popsicles. It's a little thick, and I could not drink it as a shake, but great as a frozen treat. I usually eat 2 at a time for a snack - a little over 13 grams Protein of Protein . Plus it's a Meal Replacement shake so has other nutrients - just made a batch with BariatricPal Advantage strawberry to try next.

I love the sugar free popsicles also and was just thinking last night that I will start making my own from Crystal Light and Water, which would be less calories and carbs and a "cool" way to get my water in this summer lol

Fairlife chocolate milk is 140 calories but it has 13 g Protein. I'm going to add some Protein Powder and freeze it.

Brenda15 got a reaction from chunkymunkey916 in Weight gain after having a baby..
I was sleeved in 2011. I had a baby in 2014, I was at my goal weight. Because of several rusk factors, I knew my angel would be early. I had to increase my Protein. I did indulge in dill pickles, this was really my only craving. Lol! Anyways, I gained 34 lbs during my 7 1/2 month pregnancy. I was scared! At about 6 weeks post partum, I was back to my pre pregnancy weight. I was going through alot of stress in my life as well as a back injury. I reverted back to stress eating.
One day, I stepped on the scales and had gained 37 lbs. Its been hard, but I am watching what I eat and trying to be more active. I never want to be that overweight again.

Imagine how you would expect to feel if someone stabbed you 4-5 times in the belly. Yeah, you are gonna hurt should feel much better in a couple weeks.

Brenda15 reacted to triplethreat in Feeling discouraged.. was told sleeve is useless for lower BMIS
I began with BMI around 34-35 and I'm at a normal BMI now. It took me 6 months to get here. I hit a stall at three months and may be at another stall now. Keep to your program and don't feel discouraged. Believe that you are worth investing in!

Brenda15 reacted to clc9 in Feeling discouraged.. was told sleeve is useless for lower BMIS
I would not be surprised if as the years pass and the data piles up that they don't lower the recommended BMI range to include the obese with BMI's under 35. Those comments you're getting sound more like resentment than fact. As I'm certain you know, stalls are normal. Long term, it would be impossible to eat at a deficit and not lose weight. Short term, a body can stubbornly cling to weight as it adjusts to the new normal. Personally, I'd find new more supportive friends!

Brenda15 reacted to Alexis99 in Hot stuff/hard candy
Do not do hot sauce! I tried a very mild spicy Soup 2 weeks out and it burned my throat. I I'm only 7 weeks post and still cannot do anything spicy. Not even anything slightly spicy. It really sucks because prior to surgery I would douse many things with Tabasco and red pepper flakes. Hopefully six months out I can start incorporating it back in. As far as the candy I would probably stay away from it at least for the first year is it could be a slippery slope for you. And it is sugar. Hope this helps you good luck

Brenda15 reacted to DJ's Mom in How far should I be walking?
I'm 4 days out and wish I could get that much. Besides walking to and from the bathroom and around the house I haven't gotten much walking in. I live in a snow area and going outside to walk is out the question. Trying to find someone to take me to Walmart or the mall to walk with me has been a little difficult. When I was discharged they said as long as I walk it doesn't matter how much. I just need to get up and move around every 2 hours that I'm awake. So hope that helps.

Brenda15 reacted to Mandybb in upset and feeling disappointed
I'm 7 weeks post op and I've not lost a single ounce in 14 days! Nothing! It says 225.0 every stinkin day and it is frustrating. This is my longest stall.
My first stall was at 2-3 weeks. That lasted about 10 days. I know it will eventually come off but it can be so frustrating. I have been losing inches though! My clothes are fitting looser so maybe search for non-scale victories! Hang in there though and don't lose hope, we will get through this!

Brenda15 reacted to orionburn in 1st family dinner...6 days post op.
Had our first family dinner yesterday as well. Everyone else got to enjoy homemade pizza while I had about 4 oz of mashed sweet potatoes...lol. The pizza smelled good but I wasn't even that hungry to eat my sweet potatoes.
