smyleetn reacted to Dashofpixiedust8 in Over 200 pounds down!
So I started my journey on October 30th 2015 at 540 pounds. This is the highest I've ever been. I had to be on oxygen because I was so overweight it was pressing against my lungs.
I had to do 6 months of a supervised diet and lost 60 pounds before my surgery and had my surgery weighing 480 pounds.
I had a horrible time after surgery as some on here may remember. I was in extreme pain for 3 weeks then extreme nausea for 5 months. The nausea was so bad I didn't eat or drink for over a month and had to get a picc line and give myself infusions overnight to get my fluids and nutrients.
They removed my gallbladder in October of this year and I started to feel much better.
I now feel great and am finally starting to be able to enjoy my smaller size! I'm having fun working out at the gym and I'm starting to feel pretty and trying to date.
I now weigh 336 pounds! That's 204 pounds down from my first weigh in and 144 pounds down since my surgery May 29th 2015!
I'm so excited to be going in the right direction! I just turned 30 in November and I can't wait to finally start living my life!
Here are some before and after pictures!

I am drinking decaf..my surgical team said no caffeine for three months post op. I have found some great Decaf Beans I grind and it's taste is very close to caffeinated and so delicious, I may never go back to caffeinated.

^^^^^ This. Follow your plan. I was told to go completely decaf prior to surgery. So I did. Once I was post-op, they said it was fine to go back to caffeine coffee if I wanted. I drink a couple of cups in the morning, and often several cups of decaf throughout the day.

Bumped into a casual friend this past weekend that I hadn't seen since May (I had my surgery in September and I'm down 80lbs) in the parking lot of a local store.
I waved.
He stared at me blankly.
I walked over to him and his eyes were masks of confusion with not even the slightest bit of recognition.
"Matt... it's Rob, you f-ckin' drunk!"
"HOLY SHIT! MATE, WHAT THE F-CK HAPPENED TO YOU?"
Best reaction I've had. I'll never tire of that kind of thing.

I will not miss being scared to take a nap for fear the whole house will hear me snoring. I will not miss the pain that came from walking out my house to my car (the less then a 1 minute Walk ) I say dear friend you did not do me well at all so i bid farewell to the 400s and i say to the 300s don't get comfortable i've started the eviction paperwork on you for you must leave me soon as well!!!!

smyleetn reacted to gigiinDC in This is HARD
I am two months post op (sleeved 10/27).. Lost 32lbs so far. Haven't lost a pound in almost 2 weeks. Many on this site are posting they've lost up to twice as much at the two month point. I just want to take a moment to tell pre-op folks that those type of results require a LOT of work. This is extremely hard. I NEVER lost my appetite (it is a beast, and no it is not head hunger). I had very little restriction at all after 6 weeks post op. Right now I can eat almost anything if I want to and in very large quantities if I choose to snack all day (I don't do that). Some people apparently have no appetite for at least six months. That's not me. Some people apparently have a crazy tight restriction up to years out. Not me. Perhaps because my doc does a bell shaped sleeve with a wider opening at the bottom of the stomach.. I don't know... my point is -- You HAVE to stay on program and not eat forbidden foods. You have to know that this is not a magic pill. You HAVE to work at it every single day. Journal everything you eat. Don't drink alcohol (even at Christmas parties and other events); don't eat processed foods; eat very very slowly and with toddler utensils; don't eat refined carbs; get your Protein, Vitamins and Water in; and get moving around and working out as soon as your doctor approves it. See a psychologist as soon as you can to work out your food addiction or other addiction issues. It's worth it. This surgery is NOT an easy fix but nevertheless it's is worth it.
Thats my rant for the day . To all the perfect people who will seek to tear my post apart and put me down (inevitable on this site), please just know everybody's struggle is different and even you are not perfect.
Thanks.
