Isalithe got a reaction from RMorst79 in Maryland Kaiser
    I'm feeling good!
Dr. Cantor is an odd duck, but an amazing surgeon who actually cares about you. He's strict, but he's got his reasons.
You'll have a drain and a catheter, neither of which you'll care about in the hospital. The drain is annoying at home, but not too bad. The tape they give you in the hospital is really rough on your skin, so try to get some other types too.
Speak up if your bed is uncomfortable. I spent hours being unable to straighten my legs because the nurse couldn't figure out the controls.
Bring your own nonslip slippers or socks because the ones they give you do not fit and fall off easily, getting caught in your IV pole.
The food trays are nice and I loved the popsicle. The veggie broth was the best I've ever had. If you have dietary restrictions, let them know because they will just mindlessly bring you a set tray.
The time in the hospital is just so boring. I pretty much just stared at the TV and drank my Water. They kick you out of bed at 6am, so there's no option to even really nap. Seriously, so boring.

Right there with you. Was leaning vegan and then pushed onto whey powder. I went into my post op appointment and they excitedly told me I can have egg drop Soup and skim milk! Well, cool, but no thanks. I'll finish my prescribed whey and figure it out myself then.
The veggie broth in the hospital was to die for though!

Nicer restaurants charge a split fee.
If you don't want to pay stuff like that there is always Applebee's.
Just because you are eating "less" does not mean you cost less to service.
Why should the restaurant or the server lose money on your table because you had WLS?

Isalithe got a reaction from Hollyhock in Surgery is booked and I have mixed feelings
One of the things that made me relaxed was knowing that I had a room full of highly trained people who just wanted me to be safe taking care of me. That's their job and they're only there for you during that time.
I was worried about not waking up, but now that I've gone through surgery, I'm no longer concerned about anesthesia.

I had one until yesterday, 2 days post surgery. I learning that my doctor is more on the conservative side based on what I'm seeing others post. No outpatient, everyone gets a catheter, strict liquids plan broken down to every 10 mins, Etc. I guess it's easier because there is a Bariatric recovery unit. I appreciate all the smalls things put in place to help us be successful

I was more afraid of the catheter than the surgery, but I'm kinda glad I had it. With the sheer amount of Fluid they gave me during my stay, getting up each time would have killed me.

I did the two week diet liquid prior to surgery I did eat about 3 or 4 times all way up until two days prior before the surgery but I only ate very minimal kept it small portions and I also told my doctor the day of surgery and he told me that I was perfectly fine and that he was happy that I lost 20 pounds before. No stress!!!

Just block her. There is no need for rudeness. No one feels the need to be rude for no reason, unless they're angry or insecure. You did not provoke her in any way. I don't see anywhere where you disagreed with anyone or refused advice. You came here looking for advice and support. And girl, I am here for you! You made a mistake, a VERY dangerous one; and you owned up to it. For that, I admire you. I can't tell you how many times I've come across people who refuse to own up to their mistakes and continue to fail themselves. You were brave enough to come here and talk about this. It's great because it shows that you really do care about this, but that you're just struggling. We are humans, so we are going to make mistakes.
I think you need someone to talk to, if not daily, maybe weekly, to make sure you're staying on track. If that's what you need, then you are more than welcome to message/text me. I'll admit, I've made a lot of mistakes in the past 4 months post-op. I've even started eating bread and Pasta again. I'm not gaining weight, but I'm also not losing weight as fast as I want to. I've been stalled at 195 for almost 2 weeks now. I've decided to reset my system by doing the pouch reset (it's like the diet we were put on post-op, but instead of 5 weeks, it lasts for 5 days).

Some people make a profile quickly to ask questions and get advice when they're feeling desperate. I've seen a ton of profiles with little to no information. Some people don't see the point in putting down info of themselves, and just come to these forums for discussion/support.

Woah... What in the world?! She didn't say she expects people to agree. No need to be so hateful. She admitted that she has a problem. This person came to this forum for advice, not rude comments.

First of all, there is a nice way to say something and get your point across and an ignorant way. You may or may not learn that in life. For your sake, I hope that you do. Second of all, where in here did I say I was superior? Again, you are creating your own scenarios. You were saying you posted more than once if I had "read the entire post" well I did read it all and I'm wondering what set you off since nobody responded to your initial comment? LolYou were sleeved recently I see, perhaps you are hangry? (Hangry=hungry+angry)
Whatever the case may be, it doesn't make it right. We are all going through the same thing and all looking for advice. There is no need for hatefulness. Not to mention, the ignorant responses aren't going to teach someone anything. The only drama I seen came from your end??!! I will not respond to you again. Your behavior is absurd.
Oh and I won't even respond to the merry Christmas thing! Come on, don't be petty

So I understand people telling me that what I have done is not right and I need to stop and do right and I apperciate that. But I didn't get on here to be talked to rudely and be judged. So in words of my mamaw if you ain't got nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. ☺. I have done nothing to offend. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

I don't see anywhere where she was asking for validation. She is asking for advice and if you don't have any, move on. It isn't that hard to be polite. Try it. If you aren't going to "waste your time" then you should have just scrolled on and not wasted those very precious 2 minutes on your hateful and unnecessary post. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU! ANYWAY---With that said......girl, call your surgeon and nutritionist. This is a very dangerous road you are walking. Not only will you NOT be successful in your weight loss journey but most importantly, you are risking your life for temporary satisfaction followed by (im sure) intense guilt. I am really surprised that you are tolerating this food. At a week out, I had trouble getting liquids in. Good luck honey, I will pray for you. Only a week or two more on liquids and then you have a lifetime of good foods. Believe it or not, your life of enjoying food is not over. There are many many YUMMY Bariatric friendly recipes on Pinterest.

So far that hasn't helped my stall. Actually, when I increased my walking to 1.5 miles is when I stalled, it's not because of exercise (obviously), but there is science behind why we stall. It has to do with caloric deficit and glycogen. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
