    I have two more days to hit 6 weeks post op. I cannot wait to be able to eat a raw veggie or two. I seen a blt made with a piece of romaine instead of the bread in my fb newsfeed and I have been waiting for 2 weeks to have one of these breadless blts...can't wait!
    I just had to share, lol, I'm excited and only you all would understand why!

    I cheated on my pre op diet by choosing different forms of Protein. Mine wasn't all liquid but allowed yogurt and SF pudding and popsicles. I don't like those things so once a day I had some chicken breast until about 3 days before surgery. I still followed the rest of the diet though. Homemade beef broth from a slow cooked beef roast saved me. It tasted good and was satisfying. I froze some for post op liquids.
    As long as you can put yourself back on track, don't beat yourself up. No one is perfect, though some people on here like to think they are.

    As your stomach heals and the swelling goes down, you are able to eat more. That is normal according to my NUT. I'm only 5 weeks out but I know as I heal I will be able to eat more. I follow the guidelines from my NUT as to how much and how many times a day to eat.
    Normally I can eat a scrambled egg with cheese for breakfast. Today I tried adding a piece of bacon. I could only eat half a piece and a few bites of egg. Since the bacon is so dense it takes up more room so I ate less.

    It kills me to see people saying "I only lost thirty pounds in a month"! Like, idk about you but before this surgery it took me TWO YEARS of swimming 5 days a week and counting calories to lose even 15 lbs. And even without my various hormonal issues, when's the last time you'd hear of someone on Weight Watchers complaining they "only" lost 30 lbs in a month? It makes me so sad, because people should be happy and ecstatic at their progress and instead they're getting impatient and down on themselves and saying "well my weight loss isn't as fast as I like so I might as well just eat like crap" and sabotaging themselves.
    I'm happy to be losing weight at the "slow" rate I am, because my body needs all the time it can get to adjust to the changes, especially my skin. Slow and steady is just fine by me. Although I understand someone who is a much higher BMI and more disabled by their weight is probably more anxious than I am to lose because they are ready for that new quality of life and not just the numbers on the scale...
    but there's still the girls MY size and smaller ho have also been struck by this impatience and skewed perspective. It's sad to see people go through that. I'm glad I had such a comprehensive program with a good psychologist who helped prepare me for the ups and downs of this journey so I didn't drive myself bonkers from unrealistic expectations.

    I keep saying Protein bars are bad because they are entirely fake and created in a factory with chemicals. They don't grow from the ground, they don't come from nature.
    If you are pressed for protein in a crunch situation, fine, but they aren't a natural or healthy food. Even the guys at the supplement store I go to will caution people from eating too many.
    They are not real food.
