DaleCruse got a reaction from watsongirl17 in Has anyone successfully kept weight loss surgery a secret?
This question comes up often. I'm sorry you're experiencing this. You don't deserve it.
I didn't lie. I didn't hide my surgery from anyone. In fact, when I told people, the realized I trusted them by sharing this information. I had many more people be supportive than I ever realized.
Good luck to you, whatever you choose.

Remember that you are not alone. No matter what happens, you're not the only person to ever experience what you're experiencing. We're all in this together.

I'll go first...my biggest obstacle was cravings. It was mental. So i started planning my meals to accommodate them so i never felt deprived.
For example: there are days when i really really want sweets, so i'll make sure i include either fruit or a chocolate Protein Shake or fruit smoothie or something to fill that craving.
If i'm craving salty i'll do deli meat and cheese as one of my Snacks or smokehouse almonds.
I also googled what cravings really mean and made adjustments as needed. Whether that meant finding a way to relieve stress, or making sure i'm hydrated etc.

DaleCruse got a reaction from 2feelinggreatagain in What weight
Down this path lies madness. With all due respect, don't concern yourself with how much or how fast others lose weight. This is not a race we're running against each other. You're doing great. Celebrate that!

DaleCruse got a reaction from Creekimp13 in Anxiety before surgery
If you don't have surgery, will you regret it later?
For what it's worth, LOTS of us had anxiety & wondered whether we should have surgery. Three years later, I look back & wonder what I was so tied up in knots about.
You are not alone. Good luck!

Wow, judge much? You assume marijuana is a bad habit. That's ill informed & super judgey.

Welcome, Alice. What if you weren't the type of person who avoids going to the doctors at all costs? What if you were the type of person who embraced a new approach, which includes regular visits to someone who can help you? It really is that easy. Good luck. You are not alone.

DaleCruse got a reaction from Acts238girl in Tomorrow's the day, and now I'm nervous!!
You should be nervous! You're having surgery! When I had it more than three years ago, I was scared out of my mind. I was convinced I was going to die on the operating table. It's perfectly okay to feel nervous. You are not alone.

You are not alone. Remember that pretty much everyone on this board has gone through the pre-op diet. We made it & so will you. You can do this.

Im on day 4 of 14 WHOOOhooooo . In Gods name I will not cheat. this diet is supposed to shrink your liver, clean your colon and also help you adapt to what your new life will look and feel like (with your new stomach and body!!) try not to cheat your self. Today was one of the hardest days for me. I really wanted to eat peanuts, kale anythiiiiiiiinnng but nop I thought about my repercussions. I believe they will cancel surgery if u don't lose from 8-10 pounds. Best of luck. We are all here for each other !!!

DaleCruse got a reaction from Twinmom07 in 1.7 years out and resuming bad eating habits
You are not alone. I'm more than three years past sleeve surgery. I've regained a bit too. One possible problem I'm ready is you're trying to do this all by yourself & lacking motivation. It sounds to me like you need a weight-loss partner. Someone who shares you enthusiasm to restart your efforts & keep yourself accountable. Give it a try! Good luck!

Try to keep calories under 1200.
Try to keep Protein over 60g
Try to exercise daily.
Try to have patience and understand that stalls are normal.

DaleCruse got a reaction from Rainbow_Warrior in Extreme dizziness 5 days post op
All of these are good suggestions. Also, are you on any blood pressure medications? A few weeks after surgery my doctors took me off because I didn't need them anymore & was getting dizzy. Good luck to you!

DaleCruse reacted to Engelyn in 19 days post op- feel like I'm going crazy - help
I have a few suggestions: deep breathing and/or marijuana.
I have noticed that post surgery I also have had some heightened irritability and no-reason rage. Mostly I have been trying to get more sleep when possible, afternoon naps have been my friend.
