Hey I just wanted to tell you that you're going to be alright. It's never easy to lose someone you've given your heart to- the best thing you can do (in my humble opinion) is just feel it, miss him, feel the pain, embrace it. Emotional eating is just throwing a blanket over something and hoping it disappears the more you deny it the more the pain will swallow you whole. There is no food that can fill the hole in your heart. Only you can do that, you have all the power in the world. Never doubt that. Self love is more empowering and beautiful then any love another soul can give to you. I'm sorry your hurting, truly. Don't lose sight of what you're doing for you it's hard to see now but sometimes our greatest hardships are blessings in disguise. This is your time to shine and the only one you need on your side 110% is YOU. I believe in you.

I have to go to the VA Hospital today for two different appointments. I hate the fact that every doctor's scale shows a heavier weight that what the VA furnished scale at home shows me.

Gosh -- thanks for asking: 8 eggs; 1 c Fairlife Milk; 1 c skim mozzarella cheese; 5 Tbs unflavored Unjury; three twists of black pepper.
Mix all together, spray a round cake pan with Pam, pour all ingredients in, bake at 350 for 40 minutes -- I ate about 1/8 at a time.
Second time we made it with super ground up 99% fat free turkey sausage --- about six ounces total.
I just could not stomach pureed meats either, but knew I needed to start making the switch over to more solid foods, and this did hit the spot. Good luck!

    Hi everyone!
I had to search for some older pics because I never allow my picture to be taken, but I found a couple to put next to one from yesterday.
It will be a year post-surgery on Dec 30th and I made my first goal... 100lbs down from surgery day. Woooooooo!
I was 369 on surgery day and today I got 263lbs. I can't even believe it. I also had my one-year follow up with my doctor today and she was estatic with my progress. I went from a 58 BMI to 38 BMI. I has been a long journey and I'm no where near done, but I am, for the first time in a very, very long time, happy :')

I love seeing everyone's before and after pictures they always inspire me so I thought I'd post one since its been a while and I actually am now in the 200's! My sw-442 surgery date-7/26/16 (Gastric bypass) current weight-298 I still have such a ways to go but I am loving my journey to my goal weight of 199. I honestly have no complaints and I am starting to enjoy exercises and jogging. I'm so glad I decided to do this.

I'm down 40 pounds, and almost to my 1st goal. According to my BMI, I'm still considered overweight but if I don't lose another pound, I will be just as content. Had an awesome NSV last week. Was talking to a stranger outside and was shivering from the cold. I had never met this person before so they had no idea what I looked like pre-sleeve and he said "well of course your cold, you're too skinny not to be"! First time in my life I've ever been called skinny!!

Pam924 reacted to LittleBill in Busted, but not how I thought!
There are some people who know I have had this surgery, and have been with me the whole way on my weight loss journey. With the exception of a very few, the people at our church are not in that group. This is mainly because I do not know most of them very well, and discussing my personal health choices is not my idea of creating that kind of bond.
So this morning I am sitting in the Sunday morning service. For many, many years, I have dressed pretty much the same, wearing a nice pair of pants, and a low key Hawaiian style shirt. This type of shirt is not only good for hiding my rotundity, it also does a good job of hiding my personal defense accessory, which goes with me everywhere it is legal to go. So far I have lost 114 lbs, and have gone through several shirt sizes. I was wearing a new one today, and it fit just a little shorter than the previous ones I had been wearing for years.
As we stood up to sing the second hymn, I reached down to tug my shirt into its proper place, just like they do on Star Trek. To my horror, as I reached around to pull it down in back, I felt about 1 1/2" of holster sticking out below the hem. And as things go, the woman who sits behind me EVERY Sunday is in a wheelchair, so she has an up close and detailed view of my nether regions.
Sure enough, as I was sitting back down, I felt a tap tap tap on my shoulder. "Oh, great", I thought. "Here we go!" I twisted around in my pew to face her, running through what I was going to have to say to keep her from either going off on me, or quaking in fear.
"Wow, you've really lost a lot of weight! How'd you do that?"
My relief was palpable. I thought quickly.
    "I stopped eating!"
She locked eyes with me, and started laughing, nodding her head all the while. So now I am wondering. Did she see my holster, or was she so taken with my new semi svelte appearance that it went by the wayside? I am not keen to find out just yet. But, this is a NSV in that someone outside my circle of those in the know, and who sees me on a regular basis, noticed that I don't block as much of her view of the pulpit anymore.

I went through the same thing .... lost about 45 pounds before surgery .. came out and had gained 20 .... so devastating .... by the end of my second week I was down three beyond surgery weight .... again .... devastated. One month anniversary yesterday ..... down about another 8 since then. I gotta say .... I'd expected the weight to drop off in pools as I walked down the hall. No such luck. But I am keeping my head up and in the best place .... focusing on Proteins and liquids .... calories about 500 average (not trying to count, but can't help but see with myfitnesspal.com) .... and believing. Just believing. But I hear ya.

Pam924 got a reaction from Treadmillwalker in How do I manage to get enough protein daily!?
I add unflavored Protein powder into Jello, broth, pudding, bariatric hot chocolate. There are actually days I have gone over significantly! It doesn't disturb the flavor too much, through when using a blender to mix it in, it can get quite frothy which is sometimes good -- other times, not so much.

My husband has a hand crank snow cone maker that has been a blessing. Every night he makes me a huge bowl of snow ..... and I cover it with sugar free/fat free/no calorie snow cone Syrup from Ralph's online store. Ralph has tons of sugar free flavors like blue raspberry, Hurricane, fuzzy navel, sour watermelon and so many more. A wonderfully sweet, filling day-ender that helps with my Fluid consumption. And the ice shaver can be found for about $14. Makes my day and wanted to share!!

Thank you. I had a pretty in depth discussion with the psychologist at our program about how to handle stuff like this. He is firmly of the opinion (and I agree) that making something forbidden is the best way to make it more desirable, and cutting it out completely is not always a good thing. Now, if it were an addiction problem, then yeah, a little is as bad as a lot, and can cause someone to fall off the wagon.
Going in with a plan really helped too. There were lots of old familiar smells and sights. I skipped the cookie and candy dishes completely. I didn't even go close to them. I figured I could probably get away with eating a little, but they would just get in the way of my Protein, and I am working real hard at keeping that up.
So even though I put a little humor into this, I hope the real message that comes through is that planning ahead can be very effective in not going overboard and causing physical as well as emotional problems.
