  6. I started at 39.9 bmi, but my insurance states bmi over 35 with 1 comorbity, so I should be good. I go on Wed for a nut visit and then 3/6 with surgeon at which time he will submit to insurance. My worry is that my surgeon wNted me to lose about 12-13 lbs. bfore surgery and i was down about 9, but on 1/1 quit smokimg and have gained 3. Trying my hardest to lose these last lbs. or hoping he will still be ok with it since I quit smoking. @@tracybshaw Good luck to you and your approval. We should be sleeved pretty close to each other so keep in touch and our stats are also pretty close. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

  13. Yes indeed... I surely do... to prepare for surgery, I went from smoking to vaping in November... and since then have lowered my vaping nicotine to just 3mg liquids... vaping so infrequently that I don't imagine I'll be doing it at all past the weekend... and then gave up soda in December and now the liver shrinking diet so I've given up carbs and a LOT of sugar. I've had headaches, nausea and more from detoxing. If I went through all this only to get cancelled before surgery on Wednesday I'll be VERY upset. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App Id love to know if vaoing 3mg nicotine will show positive levels for nicotine and will your surgeon still do your surgery. I have also switched to vaping and have been trying to stay on 0 mg nicotine but sometimes have thrown in 3mg. Id love to know what your pre testing shows. 18. Yes, the 50g is for 2 scoops. 2 scoops in an 8 oz. liquid was disgusting. I used 1 scoop for 8 oz. and it wasnt horrible, but i still prefer the Premier Protein shakes premade. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  19. Who is your surgeon. I am having mine in Brighton as well, but not until March, as my ins. requires 6 months. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App My surgeon is Dr Khera Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Just noticed youre in the UK group, didnt see that. 22. There are so many different versions of what surgeons want pre op. My surgeon only has us do Clear liquids the day before, 24 hours only. He stated why put us throught that stress well have enough of liquid diets after. Although we do have to lose 5% of our weight preop to show we can make those changes. That your surgeon told you he would cut you is so scary. Maybe bmi has something to do with it. When i first saw him i was 39.1 bmi, maybe if i was well over 40 or 50 he would have me do one im not sure. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  23. My 1st visit with the surgeon was 11/15/16 and my surgery is on 1/19/17. It all depends how many nutrition classes your insurance requires. Mine only require one nutrition class.Does anyone know if you fail the nicotine test will they cancel surgery. Sent from my SM-S820L using the BariatricPal App Most surgeons will yes. Mainly due to the healing that smoking will prohibit. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  24. Don't smoke another cigarette after today. Wake up tomorrow, and take it one day at a time. Go buy a vape and vape 0 milligram Nicotine so you can still get the sensation of smoking I'm 3 days cigarette free and has it been hard, yes, but my surgeon wants 60 days Nicotine free. If you stop today, Nicotine should be out of your system in 21 days. What do you want more....cigarettes or tour surgery??? It's definitely not an easy task, I know I've smoked for over 25 years. My surgeon said if we're going to get healthy with the surgery, then we're going to do it all around!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
