Fellow sleevers unite! I remember you all, surfing through these forums for hours worried about my surgery but excited for the potential health and physical change. Now I'm on the other side almost 5 months out and want to share my story with those that are waiting in anticipation or a few days out wondering whats next. I was sleeved on 09/29/2017. At my surgery I weight 363 and my weight when I started the liquid diet was 380.4. I think I ended up topping out somewhere around 387 in the days or weeks before the liquid diet. As of this morning I weight 273.8. So roughly 107 lbs in 5 months. I'll take it! Size wise I am currently a 38 waist, and XXL top. I was a 46/48 waist and 4XL a few short months ago. My overall goal is 225 (I'm 6'2). Here is my lame attempt at a Letterman style top ten list but backwards. Time flies, enjoy the ride, and the compliments

Losing weight is cool. Growing saggy man skin tits not.
Pretty Pimpin’ by Kurt Vile is on my sleeve journey mix tape.
Its great being able to sit in a chair and not worry about breaking it.
I used to love Soup. That was before eating it everyday for 4 weeks.
Only fat people wear fitbits. I wore mine, and it was stupid. I've never seen any active person actually wearing one. I probably exercise more without it.
You can weigh yourself everyday. I did, its OK. First thing in the morning, post dump, post shower. I’m suprised I haven’t gone through a costco size pack of AA batteries.
Levi’s that aren’t loose or baggy fit = AWESOME!
I am no longer that fattest person everywhere I go, There are a crapload fatter than me.....I know as I just got back from Disney.
Sex gets better with every 20 lbs.
    Holy shit, I’m not sweating!

Congrats, @@Justgotsleeved, on getting below 300 lbs. That is a big milestone! In terms of my weigh-ins, I'm a few weeks shy of my 1-year anniversary. My starting weight was 518 lbs. As of my weigh-in on Friday, my current weight is 255 lbs, so I'm down 263 lbs. I've essentially lost an NFL linebacker!

I am a Preop/PACU nurse and I went back on post op day 4-I did okay but was tired and had sore incisional area on left side-today is day 6-and things are A Lot better today. My charge nurse knew I had surgery so gave me a slightly easier assignment. So, it is doable but just harder!

@mander64, I think I was on the pain meds for at least 5 days, then switched to tylenol. Like you, I seemed to hurt more with each new day. Probably because I was moving around more each day. Hang in there, you will feel better soon...I promise:-)

My doctor said it was common for the pain to be worse after day 3 than day 1. The reason being that they use a numbing agent and once it wears off, it can hurt. Take the pain killers as long as you need to. That's what they are there for. There is no shame in using them a few days longer than other people may have. You'll feel a million times better this time next week. [emoji3]

I'm on day four. I'm okay during the day but at night I get pretty sore. I've been only taking the meds at night

I took them for the first two days post-op. By Day 3, I started rebounding, and I didn't really need them anymore. (I still had some pain, but it wasn't anything that I couldn't manage without taking the medicine.)

I stayed in the hospital since Thursday (surgery was this Monday) and I had the self controlled medication button & I used it twice. The first day it was ALOT of pain, and I slept from the meds the nursing gave me. As the days progress my pain slowly went from a 10,7,5,2

I took 1 pain pill after 8 hours in the hospital. I wish everyone was that lucky. I had no pain, wondering if I really was sleeved.

I get sleeved on 10-20 and was told to do a 1week pre op diet. However, I decided to do a 2week diet just for precaution and my own piece of mind. I don't want any setbacks when the time comes.
Keep us posted on your journey!

I was sleeved yesterday too! 10/20/16- how are you? I'm fine so far.. just a little upper abdominal gas and a sharper pain in left upper abdomen under rib cage. No nausea. Walking a lot. Hoping to go home around 1-2pm today.

So far it was much easier than expected! After I had band in 2009 I had horrific gas pains for hours post op and port site with band felt like I had been stabbed. Today I was pretty specific about my gas from past () and asked politely if they spend extra minute to remove as much as possible at end of surgery. Anyway, it was not too bad at all! Surgery took only 1 hour and I spent 2 hours in Post op. They brought me to my room and I got up right away to use bathroom. Since then I've walked 4 times and gotten 1 dose of pain meds. I've drank warm chicken broth, Jello and water! No nausea!! Only 1 dose of pain meds since leaving recovery! Wearing an abdominal binder which is very helpful. Hope to go home tomorrow! Hope this helps a pre-opper?!
