Post op pain meds

How long did you have to stay on post op pain meds? I am 2 days post op and hurt worse today than yesterday! Feels like I got kicked in stomach by a horse. Pain meds help but make me a bit nauseated.

My doctor said it was common for the pain to be worse after day 3 than day 1. The reason being that they use a numbing agent and once it wears off, it can hurt. Take the pain killers as long as you need to. That's what they are there for. There is no shame in using them a few days longer than other people may have. You'll feel a million times better this time next week. [emoji3]

I took them for the first two days post-op. By Day 3, I started rebounding, and I didn't really need them anymore. (I still had some pain, but it wasn't anything that I couldn't manage without taking the medicine.)

I stayed in the hospital since Thursday (surgery was this Monday) and I had the self controlled medication button & I used it twice. The first day it was ALOT of pain, and I slept from the meds the nursing gave me. As the days progress my pain slowly went from a 10,7,5,2

I took 1 pain pill after 8 hours in the hospital. I wish everyone was that lucky. I had no pain, wondering if I really was sleeved.

I was sleeved in 10/20/16-so 4 days post op. Pain is gone now! Only when I lean over to pick up something from floor. Honestly, meds helped with pain but made me irritable and emotional. Headachy too. Started Protein shakes today after 3 days Clear liquids post op.-so far no trouble getting it down but I have no appetite! First few days I was hungry-that has passed now. Not even thinking about food-weird!
