  1. I am a Preop/PACU nurse and I went back on post op day 4-I did okay but was tired and had sore incisional area on left side-today is day 6-and things are A Lot better today. My charge nurse knew I had surgery so gave me a slightly easier assignment. So, it is doable but just harder! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. How long did you have to stay on post op pain meds? I am 2 days post op and hurt worse today than yesterday! Feels like I got kicked in stomach by a horse. Pain meds help but make me a bit nauseated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Post op pain meds

I was sleeved in 10/20/16-so 4 days post op. Pain is gone now! Only when I lean over to pick up something from floor. Honestly, meds helped with pain but made me irritable and emotional. Headachy too. Started Protein shakes today after 3 days Clear liquids post op.-so far no trouble getting it down but I have no appetite! First few days I was hungry-that has passed now. Not even thinking about food-weird! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I am an RN and it's probably a side effect of the drug decadron given by anesthesiologist during surgery-they give it to reduce Or help prevent Nausea post op. It usually causes facial and chest flushing 1-2 days post op-your face feels warm too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pre op diet

I was sleeved yesterday too! 10/20/16- how are you? I'm fine so far.. just a little upper abdominal gas and a sharper pain in left upper abdomen under rib cage. No nausea. Walking a lot. Hoping to go home around 1-2pm today. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hello fellow sleevers! I just checked in to Preop for my VSG-scheduled to start at 11:00am-scared and nervous! I'll keep you posted on how the day went after procedure done. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Just checked In to Preop!

So far it was much easier than expected! After I had band in 2009 I had horrific gas pains for hours post op and port site with band felt like I had been stabbed. Today I was pretty specific about my gas from past () and asked politely if they spend extra minute to remove as much as possible at end of surgery. Anyway, it was not too bad at all! Surgery took only 1 hour and I spent 2 hours in Post op. They brought me to my room and I got up right away to use bathroom. Since then I've walked 4 times and gotten 1 dose of pain meds. I've drank warm chicken broth, Jello and water! No nausea!! Only 1 dose of pain meds since leaving recovery! Wearing an abdominal binder which is very helpful. Hope to go home tomorrow! Hope this helps a pre-opper?! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
