    Quick start

Very good and well researched article, one of the best ones I've read. Thanks for sharing, this was my first time reading ManRepeller. I think I'm hooked, just spent the last hour reading it!

What Is Your Favorite Healthy Food Discovery?

Roasted Chick Peas/Garbanzo beans with cayenne and olive oil.
  3. I have seen a lot of Catherine and Avenue clothing at my Goodwill.....give that a try.
  4. I have been on Cymbalta for about two years, both pre and post VSG and have had zero issues with it.

    Food Addiction

I agree with @AnneElliot, if you don't have any local meetings the website Intherooms.com has all kinds of different OA meetings you can attend in the privacy of your own home.

Dr. Mathew Weiner does a very good video about this and explains it very well.

    Food Addiction

Keep going, today is a new day. You've lost 11 pounds, that is amazing. Keep making small changes each day like you are. The only way I could get off the carbs was to just go cold turkey. Having any in my system just led to further cravings. Everyone is different, do what you need to do for you to be successful. Remember your end goal and why you are doing this, to be a healthier, happier you. Take this time to research, watch inspirational YouTube videos, check Pinterest for healthy Protein ideas and log everything you consume on a good app like My Fitness Pal so you can look back and see the food you actually eat. You can do this. It was the best decision I have made in years, mentally, spiritually and emotionally!!

    Cracker Barrel

You read something into my comment that wasn't there. It is impossible to express emotion or intent via a keyboard. I was expressing my concern, that is all, nothing more. For over a year I have given nothing but encouragement and words of experience. I rarely post, but when I do it is from my heart. I encouraged the OP to take advantage if this first year, because let me tell you it gets harder with every passing month. We are all here to learn, express opinions and share our experiences. I am not perfect, I screw up and make poor choices and test the waters of my new stomach.

    Cracker Barrel

I agree with @BigViffer, you have your whole life to introduce biscuits, dumplings and gravy back into your life. Use this "honeymoon" phase to eat clean, healthy, whole foods that are on your plan. No judgement here either, just a humble opinion by someone(me) who is a year out this month. You can do this, use this time to make positive life changing habits now. *Not sure why this posted twice*

  12. I love Swai, it's so mild. I bake mine with olive oil and fresh lemon. It only has 70 calories and 15g of Protein per serving. I buy it flash frozen in individual servings at either costco or Walmart.

    Chef getting sleeved

I know the food worker atmosphere, it's full of a lot of joking around and I can see them pushing food on you out "fun" There are two approaches you can take with them. 1. Tell them you are trying to change your lifestyle to become healthy. Let them know how serious you are and ask them sternly and politely to stop pushing food on you. Let them know the importance of this for you and your health. 2. Just tell them you are having surgery if you think that might make for a better work environment and less stress on you. You might be surprised about how most can be very supportive. Just do the best thing you can do to make this early stage of your phases easier and without the added stress. I only told my mother, I don't work so no need to tell others. I just told anyone who asks me that I am changing my eating habits with high Protein and low carbs. This has worked just fine. Best of luck, keep coming back to this forum or others that you like as well. It's a great supportive atmosphere!

    Gym shoes?

My right foot is crippled and extremely deformed from arthritis. I love Ryka sneakers and Keen hiking shoes, not the ankle boots. Good luck in finding a pair, there is a lot of choices!

What Do You Think about Food Ads?

food ads do not bother me, but weight loss ads do. I am disappointed in the amount of weight loss gimics, pills, machines, food plans and empty promises. I realize they always increase them during the new year and summer and will probably always be around. I can't forgive the greed aspect over true concern for health.

    Pre liquid diet, pre op

Pre made Protein shakes like Premiere Protein are usually under $7 for a 4-pack at walmart. banana Cream and vanilla are my go to favorites. Outshine no sugar added popsicles helped a lot and aren't too expensive. Like @@kokofamfour, I used ramen packet seasoning as well, a little salty but liked the price and different flavors....good luck!

    Feeling discouraged!

I find that if I keep my Water intake between 80-100oz(does not include my coffee or tea) daily, the stalls are shorter. Maybe try to increase your water goal from 32oz tea closer to 64-80oz or higher of water. Good luck, you can do this.
  22. You look amazing and very happy, congratulations to a job well done!
