  1. I think there was a story about it on Obesity Help. I'm not active on that forum because the people are such drama queens (in fact I've never posted there) but I occasionally cruise by to see the latest "cat fight". LOL
  2. I agree with what everyone else has said. Let him know how you feel, after that the ball is in his court. You're not married and you're young...you have the advantage. If he's unwilling to make changes in his life, that's his problem...not your's. I know it sounds harsh, but that's reality. It also sounds to me like he has some issues with depression and might be in a slump. Do what you can, but don't throw away your youth trying to help someone that doesn't want your help (I'm saying this from experience, lol). I hope it works out for you.
  3. I'm so sorry you had to go through that! What a nightmare. I'm praying that you'll feel better soon. Please keep us posted on your progress.
  4. Hmmm, if possible I would go see a doctor quickly. I'm concerned you're not using the antibiotics, it's important with any surgery. If you are having issues breathing I would get to a doctor...or at least call your surgery center in Mexico and find out what to do. Make someone give you some answers.
  5. I hope everything works out for you Courtney. I'm sorry you've had just a rough time. I hope you're able to get everything resolved and work on healing yourself both emotionally and physically.
  6. Any word on her recovery?? How much longer will she be in ICU?? How are her spirits holding up? I've been thinking about her a lot....I'm just so sorry this happened.
  7. I read about this happening recently. I'm very sorry this happened to you, I'm sure the re-do will fix everything and you'll be able to lose weight! Please keep us posted!
  8. Hi, I don't know how much help I'll be...but I have a friend that's into riding and she uses this site as a reference before she purchases: Bicycles, recumbent bicycles, giant bicycles, adult tricycles, specialized bicycles a lot of their bikes are pricey...but she found one of them on Ebay that was pretty reasonable. I'm sure there are other sites out there, but this is the only one I know anything about. I've actually toyed with the idea of taking up riding myself...I admire you for going for it!!
  9. You look AMAZING!!! WOW!
  10. Ebeth, you need to re-read the posts in this thread and stop letting emotion cloud your judgment. The only person your hurting by not taking the advice offered on these boards is yourself. The people here are TRYING to help you...back up, take a deep breath and try and be objective. I hope everything works out for you, please let your doctor know what's been going on and try and stick with his instructions. Forgetting about things do not make them go away.
  11. I agree with Sades. You need to get a handle on this addiction...fast, or you will end up losing your band. Eating disorders are hard to deal with, and it takes a lot of time and work. See if you can find some group therapy, join OA...get involved in as many support systems as you can. It really helps to talk about it with other people that have the same problem. You can do this!
  12. How can jello be associated with band slippage??? I'm really confused.
  13. Please let Joan know I'm praying for her and wishing her a speedy recovery.
  14. This article is still pissing me off....seriously. I've told EVERYONE about it that I've talked to today. Seriously....W...T...F....how can they be allowed to post this BS?? You KNOW people will believe this crap, especially people that are looking for excuses to remain fat and do nothing about their current condition.... 5% death rate from WLS is my personal favorite. What a load of poop, the people responsible for this should be shot. They are doing the obese community A LOT of harm with their made up statistics. Another thing that really chaps my ass is some dingleberry is going to read this, believe it, continue to be obese and die in 5 years from some co-morb because they thought it was "okay" to be fat. OR they are afraid of being the 5% that dies from WLS!!! :tt1: Sorry, done ranting...it's just really scary stuff like this is out there.
  15. You're not!! Fat is healthy!!! ....this article is VERY disturbing I cannot believe it...it fired me up big time.
  16. Yes, I know at 180lbs overweight I'm SO HEALTHY!!!! WTF!! This is seriously messed up. While I agree that body image in this country is really screwed up...for someone to say you can be obese AND healthy is stupid. Unless you think High BP, sleep apnea and diabetes are "healthy". I can't mow my front yard w/o feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack...oh yeah, I'm the picture of fing health. This article makes me sick, and the worst part is there are people out there that will believe it's true.
  17. I'll be praying for you!! Please let us know when you can.
  18. I'm so sorry about your loss. Losing a pet is so painful, I had to put one of my babies down a few months ago (she was 15) and I felt like my heart was going to break in my chest. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
  19. Woohoo! Grats on your date!!!
  20. Wow!! You're doing GREAT!
  21. Hahah I love the shorts....you are a vision of true 80's awesomeness!!! (the shirt made me giggle too (just cuz it says Sex Wax)) Seriously though, you still are a good-lookin guy...don't be too hard on yourself. You are going to be even better then the "before" pic by the time you're at goal.
  22. Carol, I don't think anyone was trying to make you feel unwelcome. I'm sorry you feel that way, I'd like to hear about your sleeve experience if for no other reason then my own information. It's sometimes hard to type things in the correct "tone". I'm sorry if you got offended. I hope you continue to share your experience with us.
  23. Wow Dab, you are one hell of a success story!! Looks like you are on your way!
  24. Funny story - Last night I showed my DH your before pics, then your pin-up pic. He was like "NO WAY!! NO WAY!!!" LOL He couldn't believe that was the same person....I think he's still in shock. You look hot lady, SUPER hot.
  25. Hi Jorge, I just wanted to stop in and offer my support. I haven't been banded yet, so I can't say I know what you're going through but, I don't think you're a failure. We all have addictions to food, or we wouldn't be here!! Stay strong buddy!
