Had my DS late on Tuesday. Still in the hospital due to nausea. Hoping to go home tomorrow. Definitely feeling a bit of "buyers remorse" mostly just due to feeling so poorly. I'll just walking and sipping and hopefully will feel more like myself tomorrow. Good luck to everyone on either side of the gate!

I am on day 7...all I can say is hang in there. I drink Water and Decaf green tea all day, it seems to help. I also use caramel premier Protein in decaf coffee. Good luck you can do it!

I'm having the ds surgery on the 17th. Start my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow as well. Feeling nervous. Check in and let us know how you are doing! Good luck!! You can do it!

My pre-op testing was an EKG, blood work, and a GI test where I swallowed some goo and they took x-rays while it went down. Some people have other testing, like a chest x-ray or a scope down the throat. You will have to ask since different surgeons do different tests.

Our class was long that day. You have to learn how to eat during your pre-op diet and directly after surgery. They will probably also go over what to expect in the hospital, and after surgery. It was super informative!
The preop testing wasn't bad. Mine only took an hour. I had some blood work and an EKG and they asked a lot of questions and that was it! Good luck!

Gratz to all three! When one says DS, is that the traditional or modified-SIPS? (or hybrid, like mine...traditional but 3 meters of common channel, rather than the one meter in traditional?)

I don't see the skill and intentions of a surgery team as the concern. They don't live with us inside our psyches. It's ourselves in whom we need "faith." We need to trust our capability to make well-reasoned decisions. Beyond that, we have the power of choice. I'm not suggesting that you do so, but you can choose today to cancel surgery. You have that much power. You chose to begin the surgery process. You exercised your power and trust in yourself. There's nothing at all unusual about feeling fearful when surgery is only days away.

Most of all stay aware that it was your power that brought you here. You've got it, dental anxiety be damned. ,
