My surgeon said to crush any pill that i have to take. I bought liquid tylenol and am in the process of getting liquid omeprozole because i heave ecery time i try to get down the pill powder.

I loved Mexican food, but after surgery just can't do the torts, rice, and Beans. Usually order fajita meat and salsa. I live in SATX, too! My surgery was 1/27/16. 75lbs so far!

Omg! I am starting my pre op diet today. Scheduled for 10/25. I got on the scale this morning (211) and thought I will never be this weight again. I'm walking on air and think my shake is the best thing I've ever tasted!

@@ella37, I think it's normal to be scared! I was too. But the funny thing is, once I was wheeled into the OR, I was out within a minute! Next thng I knew, I was awake and it was over! Just consider the operation an hour nap! :-D

It's very normal to be scared. Just remember that your surgical Team will take good care of you. Follow the instructions and you'll be good! Prayers!

I'm scheduled for 9:15 am!! So many emotions but right now I'm just nervous. Really worried something will go wrong :/

I wan't allowed string cheese' for about 6 weeks after surgery although I could have other cheese'. The logic seemed off (my NP didn't like the stringiness) but I went with it because it didn't kill me -- I simply bought other stick cheese' to carry for convenience.

I don't eat pasta'. It makes me vomit and it's useless carbs so there is really no point in it. Do I like it? Yup. Do I like my size 8 skinny jeans? Far more than I like Pasta, for sure.

Well it's here! Tomorrow is the day! Check in at 7:15, surgery is at 9:15am. Nervous and excited still sums it up nicely. :-).

I wanted the sleeve but because of my acid reflux I can't. My Dr told me about 90% of people lose their acid reflux after bypass. I've been seeing people on the sleeve still have to take anti acid meds. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

I track my intake on Fitbit - mostly because I already use it for tracking activity and weight.
I use MyFitnessPal (MFP) to track my food (which also syncs with fitbit). You can track Water intake in MFP as well.
If you are already using an app to track food/fitness, I would try and use that as it will probably be more convenient for you.

I'm at the hospital and prepped for surgery! Just waiting on the doctor to go into surgery!

I really waited a whole year to see if i could loose the weight and think about the surgery. well i lost 30 pounds gained back 10. and im tired of the up and down diets. so i went for the consultation. and he approved me thank goodness.. definitely stop the chantix if its doing more damage then good.

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow got to be there at 10:30 two hours prior...I'm trying to stay calm!

After my RNY gastric bypass surgery, I completely lost my hunger. It was not difficult for me to lose weight when hunger was not constantly, continually gnawing at my bones. It was a completely different experience from dieting. Sometimes I had to remind myself to eat. It doesn't mean that you don't have to follow the program requirements for fluids, Protein, meal volume and Vitamins but it really is a different experience.
