  4. Hey mom2. Went with bypass at my docs recommendation. It is the only one that has been around for 40 years and works long term. Feeling uncomfortably gassy. It is keeping me up. That and the grizzly bear snoring next to me. And this is my new room. The old one had a guy with a malfunctioning cpap and it sounded like a construction zone Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. Ha jess. My surgery was this am too and that is exactly how I described it. Worried about sleeping tonight because I just got a roomie and he is attached to a lot of noisy beeping equipment Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. Yes momto3E. I had a revision from a lap band. So surgeon told me if there was too much scar tissue they might have to do a sleeve instead. But he said everything was good, so I got my bypass. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  10. 42 lbs is fantastic! Celebrate that. I would be ecstatic if I were down to 205 in 3 months. My surgery is Tuesday and I'm starting at about 244. Stalls happen. In my experience that is when I'm losing the inches. I'm going from a band to bypass or sleeve. I'm not setting myself up to expect a loss as fast as yours. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  11. I'm sorry to hear that, this is hard enough when you have support. I also agree with everyone else. My husband is very supportive, but has been clear that i need to be sure I'm doing this for me and not for him and he is right about that. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  12. I used rogaine after my band surgery. Did it for about a year and stopped. I was fine. It probably depends on the why of the hair loss. For rogaine to work you need to keep using it. I just didn't need to after a while Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  13. My revision is October 4, Toronto Canada Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  16. Hmm. I haven't had any issues with mine. The edges curl a bit after the end of the day. Putting mine on my shoulder. Some people suggested a quick swab of rubbing alcohol before applying Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. I picked up a tub of whey protein at gnc...just asked for unflavoured low carbs. It is the gnc brand. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  18. Hi Autumn, Try pureeing it first. I know I'm on full liquids through week 3, then purees through week 6. It may just be too early for you.
  19. MindyMe try the PatchMD Vitamin Patches. that made a difference for me.
  20. Wow Jane1979 that is insane! People are crazy. Amazing how culturally there can be a lot of pressure to eat, but god forbid you look like you like to eat.
  21. My surgery is October 4th. I've been on the liquids for a week and at the moment I am starving. My Nut told me it is ok to have low carb vegetables and bouillon so I made a pureed veggie soup which I use in those moments when I need to eat or I'm going to loose it. It has helped me stay on plan...I'm dropping weight to so that is good. I couldn't take it if it was just the sweet shakes all day long. I may go out and try to find sugar free Popsicles just so I can have something to chew on.
  22. Stefanie, where in toronto are you? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  23. I get it Tammy, I'm kind of in the swing of it now. Are you allowed bouillon and veggies? I did a puréed zucchini Soup that I'm loving now. As long as it isn't just shakes I can manage. Try switching up the shakes. I had to turf the Optifast I was given. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  24. My dietician said vegetables and bouillon are ok. Just made a garlicky puréed zucchini soup. So good. I'm gonna be able to do this. Found the recipe on Pinterest. Just did a search under bariatric and found lots of recipes. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm going from band to bp on October 4. Started my liquid diet on Tuesday so almost 1 week in and just over 1 week to go. Been sick so that has added to the challenge. I feel like I'm over the hump now and just praying that I've kicked this cold for good this week Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
