  3. October 4 for me. And starving. Told my husband he needs to cook his own meals for the next week and a half...too torturous. Found myself perusing food porn on Pinterest last night for an hour Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  4. I'm like you. I have artificial sweeteners. GNC has a shake called lean shake. That is the only one I've been able to tolerate Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hi, I'm in toronto but traveling to Montreal for my surgery on October 4. I'm on myfitnesspal. We can add each other for support if you'd like. Just message me and I'll send you my info. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi Stefanie, I'm in toronto too. I'm going to Montreal for a revision (self-pay). I looked into both. Like others have said. Bypass is the proven gold standard, so should not be something to be too concerned about. I'm the opposite of you. I've been told they may not be able to do a bypass because of scar tissue and my have to do a sleeve. I won't know until I have woken up which I got. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  7. On top of the Protein shakes Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  8. Thanks. I'm working from home all week and taking it easy (which I almost never do) so I can beat this thing. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  9. Oh man I'm allowed veggies and bouillon that's it. I'd kill for a bit of olive oil right now. The worst is cooking for the family...the smells...torture Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hi Tammy and Shir, I'm scheduled for October 4 for mine. I'm 3 days in to the liquid diet and battling a cold. Really hoping and praying I get over this cold fast so it doesn't interfere with my surgery date! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  11. I have mine scheduled on October 4. I'm hoping for a revision to bypass. What my doc said to me is that it depends on the scarring. He said if the scarring is too bad he won't be able to do a bypass because they won't be able to properly close the incision. So I was given 2 options. If the scarring is bad, they will remove and then I'd have to go back later once the scarring reduces or they can do a sleeve in which case they just work around the scar tissue. I've told him to do the sleeve if he can't bypass. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App I'm planning to take, one week and then 1 week working from home. 12. I'm just trying to make it through this 2 week liquids and get over a cold i got 2 days ago. am terrified I'll still be sick and they'll cancel the surgery..crossing my fingers.
  13. The good news is the dietician told me I can switch to the gnc shakes, which while not great are tolerable. She also told me I can supplement with vegetables or vegetable soup. So I'm in a good place now, now I just have to work my way up to four shakes a day. Only did 3 yesterday, but I know I need to do 4 to hit my protein goals. Yesterday was super hard because I had an ultrasound at 3 and was told I could eat nothing for 6 hours prior so had to cram my shakes in afterwards. Down 6lbs as of this morning.
  14. I haven't tried ice. thanks. I've put a call into the dietician at my dr's office to see if I can substitute. I had band surgery in 2005 and I remember going on a liquid diet, but no shakes. I remember doing bouillon and sugar free Jello and stuff. I've tried GNC golean shakes before. I don't like them but i can tolerate them so I'm hoping she'll be ok with that. on the bright side my teeth have never been cleaner now that i'm brushing them 5 times a day to get rid of the taste.
  15. Good luck! I go in for my band to bypass revision on October 4.
  16. So my doctor has sent me Optifast for the next 2 weeks pre-surgery. I tried both the vanilla and chocolate they sent. The vanilla made me gag, couldn't drink it at all and was able to drink the chocolate if I held my nose. Not sure how I'm going to make it through the next 2 weeks like this. I'm not sweet lover to begin with so this artificial sweet stuff is just gross. Has anyone else done anything different in the two weeks? I can't be the only one.
  17. You taking any Multivitamins? that could help.
