I had my surgery yesterday. This gas is horrible!

Has anyone tried Inspire Protein powders?

That’s what I’m gonna do because Celebrate has a chicken based Protein but it’s not jiving with me. I’m going to buy an unflavored protein to add to my broth.< /p>

Jeannine - I spoke with my surgeon and he confirmed everything you said as what may be going on. I feel a lot better now that I got the chloraseptic spray and some cold medicine.

One week post op and so far my only regret is I can't chug Water. I feel thirsty all the time but you can't just take a big swig.

I feel it’s my journey, my life. We’ve tried to do things to lose weight and studies prove long term most are not able to keep it off for good. I commend those that have been able to do it. I also commend those of us taking this route because the surgery alone doesn’t make you successful. It’s still a long term battle because we still have the same brains we started with and to be honest most ppl overeat regardless of their size. We are doing what’s best for us and you don’t have to like it but we’re not asking you to either. Be happy with your decision. December 27th for me!!! I’ve gone through the steps 3 times and I’ve finally decided I’ve had enough and need some assistance.

Girl, I do sympathize. While I'm not married, I have a sister who used to be incredibly messy. I like the house clean and she could care less, but she was also dealing with some depression problems. She has since dealt with the depression and voila! She's taken it upon herself to start cleaning up after herself! But I had to really back down and not nag her about it. I just let it get kinda messy until she couldn't stand it and decided to do something about it. But she never would have before dealing with the depression. So while I can't give any great advice here, i can say that perhaps if you can help your hubby deal with the depression, maybe that will do something about the cleaning motivation.
Hey, just thought of something. Another thing that got her cleaning was to invite someone over and then tell my sister about it before-hand. She's got too much pride to have a messy house when people come over, so she'd get up and start cleaning. Would this work with your husband? Maybe invite people over once a week LOL!

Hello everyone!
I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!
Anyone else scheduled out in December?

Well the bad part is if you miss an appointment you have to start all over from the beginning. I’m not messing this up! I will be at all my appointments because it’s time! Good luck!

My Dr recommended generic 'flinstones' style Vitamins for the first 2 weeks after surgery, as long as they have 18 mg Iron. They were like $5.

I have had GERD for 20 years but it was totally under control before EGD! I had to double my nexium for 2 weeks. AlkaSelzer heartburn chews are awesome and delicious! Also addicting!

I agree with the not lying part, but I disagree with the likelihood of people figuring it out. I am 3+ years out, 112lbs down and no one that I did not choose to tell knows more than the fact that I eat a diet much like Atkins and I move my a$$ a lot.
Only one person asked me out right if I had WLS and my response was simply, "What a personal question! You probably did not intend to be nearly as rude as you came across." My tone clearly invited no further discussion and no further discussion occurred.
If I were to tell people I was having a procedure and they asked what kind, I would simply tell them it was very personal. Nothing else needs to be said. But I never told people that part, either.

Just a quick update- for whatever reason my doctors office submitted my info for approval to the insurance company before I completed my 6 visits. I had only completed 4 and the insurance specialist submitted it because she said she thought I was through. Nonetheless it was somehow approved without me completing those last two visits! So my surgery is scheduled for 11/3!!!!! Super excited and nervous as well

Well, the day has arrived. I have to be at the hospital at 10:30, so we will head out that way in an hour or so. I didn't make it to 100 pounds down, but I have lost 99 pounds in my six-month pre-op diet journey. I am pleased with that. My body just doesn't want to give me that last pound. The last 3 days with liquids weren't that bad at all, but I am convinced that re-establishing my relationship with food over the past six months made that experience (which sucks under any situation) so much better than just going into it straight from an "anything goes" diet. (And 14 days of having to do that would be so difficult even with the preparation.)
I am certainly filled with anxiety at the moment. I'm ready to get this done and move forward with the second half of my weight loss journey. I've never had any sort of surgery in my life, so I doubt I will shake these jitters, but it is time to be a big boy and just deal.
I wish all the best to those out there who are also having surgery today. "See" you on the other side of it!
