Sorry tmi
Walk walk walk and as much Fluid as possible. If it becomes painful, call your dr and ask for best options to clean you out. I waited too long.."its just constipation"...I had a miserable time. Hope you feel better. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

VSG with a Mirena
I have it...had nothing to do with surgery. I feel better having the birth control. I am only 2 months along, but the hormone craziness has given me a long period after not having one for quite a while. I was told this can happen and just hang in there. Darn hormones...they aren't nice!! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

You all lied!
My cravings are always there. It's tough. I know what I'd want to eat, but I can't have it. My body won't accept it or its really not good for me. I get depressed that when I go into a variety store, there is nothing I can eat or drink in there but Water. Then I have to decide what is important and why did I do this. My cravings are not fun...but are they as important as my goals? I have goals I want...be healthy, fit in amusement park ride with my son, look cute in a dress, feel good about myself. This, to me, is more important than what I eat after surgery. That doesn't mean it is easy. I understand very well. What is my priority? Finding other things that are more important than my cravings. Pictures
People around me tell me they see a difference. But I don't see it...I just see same old same old. Maybe I'll see it as time goes on... Everyone always says the polite "oh you look like you lost weight". I once gained 20lbs and people still told me that! I need to see it in myself, to believe what I see. Not an easy task. Water
By normally drinking, I able able to drink more Water now, bigger gulps than before. I hit my Fluid goals with little issue. I just make sure to stop drinking 15min before a meal and 30 min after. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

30 minutes
I would as long as possible. Drinking after flushes the food down faster, so you are hungrier faster and absorb less nutrients. We need all the nutrients we can get with smaller portions. Just my take on it. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Is the sleeve really "just as good"

Is the sleeve really "just as good"
So my hubby had the bypass, I had the sleeve. He is loosing weight faster, I have to work harder and it's slower. BUT, I am getting stronger and healthier by working harder. I can do things I have been able to do in years. The sleeve hasn't effected my meds I have to take for my bipolar. The absorption seems to be the same. My hubby hasn't had complications nor have I, but his recovery time has been longer. I think...for me...the sleeve was the better choice. I am changing my bad habits and learning healthier ones. It's slow, but constant. This is my experience. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Water
I don't think liquid will stretch anything...I am at week 9 and drinking normally. Now eating food too fast or too much is a problem. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

After dinner snacking.
Pickles have kept me going. Just when I want to start grazing from old habits...one zero calories pickle fills me up and keeps me in line. Pickles are the best! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

After dinner snacking.
I have an after dinner evening snack. One and I work it in with my calories count. Our son is hungry after school, so we have dinner early. I need something in the evening. I just have one and not grazing the night away. I hate sf Jello and sf popsicles. I tend to have veggies. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

How many?
I keep an eye on my carbs, but I don't stress over it. Proteins are my big concern. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Honeymoon phase of not being hungry
I was hungry week 3...it never went away. And it wasn't head hunger. But I stuck to my schedule and calories. Now I can basically ignore it. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Facial hair *women only
Facial hair is evil. I have it too. Feel like people are staring at the fat girl with a beard! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

What kind of 'fat' person were you?
Binge eater...big portions...I never seemed satisfied. I wasn't an unhealthy eater...tons of veggies and fruits...just ate a lot. Eating was my coping skill and I used it. My hubby was the same, so we ate and coped together. We're both post op now...I did the sleeve and he did the bypass. We're both learning new skills, I have a therapist and am learning everyday. Lots of challenges ahead, but I know we can do it...just like you can. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Made a blunder!
When I eat too fast it's just a fast vomit...like run to bathroom thing. When it's dumping or my stomach says it doesn't like this food...it makes me vomit but also feel sick. I get nervous when I go out in public, to try anything new...in case it doesn't react well. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Made a blunder!
Yea I will...thanks. Slow and steady....I'm glad it's not reflux, but it sucked. I've eaten haddock many times, so I know it's not dumping. I guess the rules are there for a reason. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Made a blunder!
No I will always love that haddock. It was just a dumb old habit of eating crazy fast. I paid for it. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App
