  3. I had bypass 8/23. I've lost 75 pounds total(55 since surgery). The problem that I'm having is no matter what type of socks I wear, my leg swells at the top of the sock. I've tried ankle high , no show, crew, knee etc. They are not tight at the band but I still swell. Does this happen to anyone else? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I got a cold the Sunday before my Tuesday surgery. They said to come in anyway and they would evaluate it. They did. Surgery went on with no delay. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. My NUT told me to be careful of hidden sugar do dumping Dosent happen . She said no more than 7gm sugar. Well much to my surprise, my favorite Soup had 23 gm sugar. ( probably why it was my favorite) lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Pdallariva: where are you located in Ohio? I'm in the Northeast, near Toledo. ( about 1.5 hours from CC). I looked into Cleveland Clinic but chose wood County Hospital in Bowling Green Ohio, instead. I can't say enough good things about it. It's a center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery and just a great support and follow up. If you need help or another opinion and the drive is manageable I would recommend them. I hope you feel better soon and your weight loss is awesome!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I, too, use the weight of my first appointment as my Highest. Then my surgery weight is day of surgery . Good luck on your liquid phase , ladies! It truly is the most challenging part in the journey, in my opinion . When I had faltering moments , I reached out to others who have been through it. We are all here for you ! 8. So awesome! Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. We share the same surgery date! Thanks for the motivation to up my exercise! I read several places that exhaustion is a common complaint in the beginning. I hope you feel better soon! You are doing so great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I don't have any input into the exhaustion , as I have not experienced that yet. I am so impressed with your progress though . I am 6 weeks out and have only lost 27 since surgery. 50 all together. Can I ask how much you are walking? I want to improve on my weight loss . I'm about the same calorie wise , around 600 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. You look fantastic!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Second guessing is very normal. Trust me all the information is a lot to take in and sounds scary but it really isn't . Take one day at a time . As far as surgery pain, I really didn't have any pain. Just a mild discomfort and even that wasn't much. You will do fine. Talk to yourself and tell yourself why you wanted to do this. What do you see for yourself when you no longer have the extra weight . You can do this! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I was! I got a cold or sinus two days before ( over the weekend ) I called the surgeon Monday am and they told me he and anesthesiologist would review morning of surgery. My white blood cells were a little elevated morning of surgery and I panicked . surgery was Tuesday . Dr reviewed and decided to go ahead , I was so thankful. Honestly the cold was the worst part of recovery. Just annoying Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Good luck! You'll do great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Lol funny to read this as I just sat down to snuggle in a blanket because I was outside and my feet are froze even though it was high 70's in Ohio today Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I had the same fears as you. No pain, no nausea. I started to think they did something wrong and then I talked to two other people that said they felt the same way at first. They have gone on to lose a lot of weight! I had RNY 8/23. Down 18 pounds since surgery. It freaks me out if I start comparing myself to others . I need to remind myself that this is about me and it's my journey. It will be different than anyone else's . I LOVE reading all the success stories though! Goals to look forward to Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. My dr told me to eat every 2-3 hours. She said it will increase the weight loss because your body will start to recognize it will be fed regularly and start burning again . Hang in there! This is a process for all of us and we will all make it together! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. It will go faster than you think and gives you good time to prepare and make plans! I started a bucket list of things I want to do when I'm a normal size. My friends have added things on my list that all of us will do. I'm 4 weeks post op, feel great , and striving for my list everyday! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I really like the premier protien strawberries and cream and the chocolate. The banana cream is okay too. I read somewhere on here that there are $3.00 off coupons on line. My NUT gave me a few of the coupons too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I like a scrambled egg with a sprinkle of cheese, imitation crab legs, tuna, diced ham with a little light mayo. Cottage cheese , chicken with a little hot sauce. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I've tried miralax 3 days. Little help. 3 weeks out Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. My Dr will only approve up to 4 if you have no complications . I am taking the whole 4. I feel okay but getting into a new norm is what I'm working on now . Plus the extra time gives your body a better chance to heal. If you have the time, take it . Now is the time for us to care for ourselves Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I fully understand your concerns . I love food too. I had a bit of panic over possibly never eating 'normal' food again, but friends told me that was a very normal reaction. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow from surgery. I feel great and I really do not have a desire to eat a bunch of food. I love pizza and last night we had a family get together with my favorite kind. I truly did not have any desire to have any at all. It's normal to worry and doubt during the process. This is a big change for us. I look at the success stories here and it motivates me to dig in and fight for this. I want this new lifestyle and I know you do too. Just keep reminding yourself why. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I understand your reluctance to tell people. I did tell my boss who shared that both of his parents had it done . I told my close friends who I knew would be positive. Since my surgery on 8/23 , I have come across so many people who have had it or know someone who has had it. I have decided that if there is a negative nelly, I don't have to listen to them ! You know your reasons for doing this for yourself . Keep telling yourself that . Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
