  1. This thread made me do a double take to see if I had posted it! Just a couple of days ago i told my mom the same thing, I almost hate to eat. I was banded March 27th and I guess i haven't quite gotten the hang of it. I get stuck a lot, I need to pay more attention to the size of my bites and chewing. I guess it's a learning process, but I do not regret my decision. 23lbs gone and definitely not missed!!!
  2. Everything went very well...the room was newly remodled and very nice. The hospital is older but i was very confident with Dr. A. so i didn't let that scare me. Good luck. if you have any questions let me know:smile2:
  3. i just had my surgery done (3/27/08) by Dr. Alvarez. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him!!! If you choose him you will not be disappointed. good luck...
  4. thanks jennaj, yeah i just started my pre-op liquid diet on Tues. so that's where i'm at. I will be banded on the 27th. So everything went well for you then? (as far as the surg.) ok, random and icky question but did they use a catheter on you?? That is one of my main fears right now, i read somewhere on here that someone had gotten one. again, thanks...
  5. thanks guys...good luck SugarBean :smile2:
  6. well, i will be having my surgery on the 27th and can't wait. BUT i am getting really nervous about the liquid diet that i will have to be on for 9 days. i've read that for some this was the hardest part of the whole process. Just the thought of going cold turkey really scares me. I know that i will have to keep reminding myself that this is what i want, but still. I'm sure that many have felt this way too, so any words of encouragement or how you got through it would be great. Good luck to all the March banders....
  7. i too will be banded on the 28th!!! best of luck to all....
  8. well, i finally did it! After weeks of just reading posts i decided to join LBT. I just started my journey but am quite excited. I thought i could use the added support from you guys since it's hard to come by from people who don't get it. I have my consult appt. with my Dr. this friday and can't wait!! everything else checked out for me so i may have my surgery set up for March 10...can't believe it's really happening!! i am having to do this "self-pay" becaus my ins. wouldn't cover me. Wish me luck....
