You can make sure you take your Vitamins and monitor your Protein. Couldn't hurt.

My doctor says take your Vitamins and get your Protein in. But some people do everything right and still lose hair. It grows back.

losing my hair is a massive fear of mine. I take Biotin but who knows if it will work. If I loss my hair I will not go out till it grows back. lol!

I've taken my Vitamins perfectly and been good on Protein since week one, and I'm losing hair now three months out. Trying to remember that it comes back, but it's a bit startling how much comes out. I think surgeons seem to tell patients it won't be a problem if they do everything "right", and I don't think that's fair. Better to prepare you for the possibility since it seems to happen to the majority.

I've followed my food, Protein and Vitamin guidelines precisely and my hair started falling out about a month ago, at about 3 1/2 months out. I have very thick hair and it's down to about what a normal person has and it's still coming out. I've taken Biotin religiously since about 3 mos pre-op and it doesn't seem to have helped a bit. I will say that I've NEVER heard of anyone growing a beard from Biotin.< /p>
I'm shampooing less often and haven't gotten a Brazilian Blowout since it started shedding, to try to avoid any extra stress. It will stop falling out at some point, and if not, there are some awesome wigs out there...I can finally have the long, straight, fine hair I've always wanted, even if just for a while In the grand scheme of things, Hair loss isn't that important, IMO. I'm off blood pressure meds and down almost 65 lbs...that's what's important!

Common question and concern so you're not alone. My weight didn't budge for 10 days after my revision to sleeve. Water weight for sure, body adjusting to major surgery. Everybody is different, some drop a lot the first 2 weeks, then stall on wk 3. I was kind of glad my stall (lack of a better term) was right away.

I was sleeved on 11/4, I'm dying to chew! I hate Water too and chicken broth is gross. I find myself living on vitawater zero (mixed berry!) and I'm supposed to have Protein shakes 2 oz every two hours while awake. I think I'll buy popsicles today and I'm going to re-attempt to Infuse my Water to make it more appealing (I saw a thing on Facebook the combos were cool: orange + blueberry, strawberry + basil, and grapefruit + rosemary). I wanted to ask you guys when your dr will let you on full liquid, in just curious. Mine ordered four weeks of clears. Four. Weeks. Omg. I better be looking fly after this!!

I'm glad to see someone else on here say how much they miss food right after surgery. I am 5 day post op and all I think about is food lol. I'm on full liquids and have no desire to bengie eat but I just want a bit of things you know just a taste. We all slip sometimes but at least know the mistake. You are almost there. WE are almost there!

I had surgery on 10/25. They kept me in the hospital for two days. Those were the worst. The 28th I was pretty good. Didn't take any pain or nausea meds after the 27th. Started walking three miles the 29th and was back to work on the 31st (I have a desk job). No problems at all

Got out and was back in on the 29th because of fever and dehydration. Turned out I had a uti and c-diff. I have no pain or nausea Everyday is a little bit better. Tomorrow I am going back to work part time. Looking forward to it.

My surgery was 10/31. I'm still taking pain meds around the clock. I had a 4 day hospital stay and came home last Thursday. Today I did walk to the end of my driveway and I am a little cautious to say this but I feel better tonight than I have since last week.

I'm post op day 4, I'm having some bowel issues and struggling to get in my Protein, but over all pain and energy wise I feel pretty good. I even ventured to Walmart today. Best wishes to everyone!!!

Sleeved today, hernia repair as well. Here for a standard overnight in hospital, no nausea only when I first woke from surgery but zofran helped. Worst is the shoulder gas pain. Been walking, using my incentive spirometer and asking for pain meds. It's been improving but super slow over the hours. After my nap it improved but then I walked and when I had to take deep Breaths it hurt all over again. The hospital staff and docs have been amazing, I'm happy for my new life. Now to eat liquid for a month.....lol!!!
