I'm not going to mince words.
Someone should cold cock your surgeon for giving you phentermine after giving you a VSG.
Regardless of how much you're eating, what kinds of foods you're eating, and how much you're exercising -- all that appetite suppressants do is to temporarily check your appetite. The longer you take them, the less well they work. You can't take them very long (they are tough on your heart), and the minute you stop taking them your appetite roars back bigger than ever.
You say you have never taken "pills" before? Well, get ready to experience why those of us who have taken "pills" won't ever take them again. They will make you fatter than you've ever been.
If, as you say, you "really increased your exercise this summer" than you have built and added muscle to your body. That alone could explain no weight loss since May.
And since changing up your exercise program, you probably need more / different nutrients and foods than you did pre-exercising. Yours is a nutritional challenge. Find a competent nutritionist.
And fire that idiot who operated on you. I cannot believe what he is doing to you.

I am 54 years old 7 months post opp. I had mgb and have lost 93 pounds thus far. My starting weight before surgery was 242. I started exercising and it has made a tremendous difference.

I have had a rough 9 months after the mgb surgery. DVT bilateral pulmonary embolism and now going for surgery on July 20th to remove my gallbladder. I try to keep my day with positivity and some days I succeed and some days I don't. I am happy I had the mgb because I know their is a light at the end of this tunnel. I have lost 122 pounds and reached my goal weight.

Gallbladder pain is so rough. Obviously eat nothing with fat is my only advice. I did drink real lemonade (artificially sweetened) it seemed to help. Why are they waiting so long if it only takes 72 hrs for the Coumadin to be out of your system? I'm confused.
I wish they would just take the gallbladder when they do the surgery. I hope you get some relief.

I had a blood test a week post op, and that showed up for me too. I googled it, and apparently it's really common and caused by the weight loss. The liver processes the fat. At least I hope it's true!

So I finally finished all my pre op and got insurance approval and was about to pick a date for the end of April. Then I ended up in the hospital for blood clots in my arm, and learned I have an abnormal issue where my first rib is cutting off blood flow to my arm. I've had three procedures now to remove the blood clots and have one more surgery scheduled to remove my first rib. I'm happy that my condition can be fixed, but frustrated that my wls has to be put on hold for 3 to 4 months while I'm on blood thinners after I finally finished my pre op and mentally was prepared to have my wls this month. Hopefully I can stay on track and keep lossing on my own. I've lost a decent amount just by seeing the nutrionalist and exercising more. But I feel like I won't be able to keep up with these good habits I've developed because of my inability to work out and the long hospital stays I've had.
    Highest weight: 293
    Current: 260

I understand what you are going through and I wish you safe and well. I wound up with pulmonary emboli (blood clots in my lungs).
This happened about 2 years ago and I'm since off the blood thinners. We never really knew what caused them, so my surgeon sent me to a hematologist as one of my many things to do to get medically cleared. After a bunch of lab work, the hematologist, stated that I will be on lovenox injections for 4 weeks post op.
I hope you are well soon. At least your doctors found this early and you are being treated properly.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi, just thinking, have you had your bloods checked? Are you taking all the Vitamins we need post op? Are you eating & drinking enough? I was feeling really tired 'into my bones tired' and my bloods showed I was low in Iron. A friend of mine was also tired and she was found to be low in Vitamin D. It's worth a check
