thisisthenewme got a reaction from kimba21539 in 6 months and loving life
It's been 6 months since my Band to Bypass surgery and I feel amazing!! Down 72lbs and a new hair cut!
This is me in the summer 2 months before surgery and yesterday while trying on a bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding in sept. I ordered it 2 sizes smaller Hope that's not too aggressive, but the same dress was VERY tight just a month ago.

I took 4 weeks, but probably only needed 3 and I work as an admin assistant 7 hours a day. Energy will be a probably for you I'd say. I did have nausea at night time the first couple weeks too. It was manageable but would have sucked to have to work through. Good luck.

thisisthenewme got a reaction from linah in 9 years out and still going!
Wow, maybe you should have read the part about the band had slipped out of position - it was causing daily vomiting. Or better yet not assume I'm an idiot and had not consulted my doctor. I was pregnant when it slipped, and the clinic I paid to put the dumb thing in went bankrupt a year before it slipped. No one would do anything for me till after the baby was born and then I had to wait, just like everyone else.

This is also my only social media account. But I do progress pics for a number of reasons:
    - motivation
    - sometimes the scale doesn't move but your inches do and this shows as results in pictures
    - sometimes the mind doesn't see the changes in the mirror...but the camera always does
    - to see how far you've come
    - and again...motivation!

Hi there, glad to hear you're doing well and congrats on all those steps!!
I converted from band to bypass on oct 3, 2016. My band slipped and cause almost daily vomiting, eventually the only thing I could eat were sliders. I lived like that for two years. Gain all the weight back slowly.
My revision surgery was the best thing I ever did. Almost all the regained weight is off in just 6 months. And of course no vomiting and stick foods. Personally I think bypass is a better tool then the band even when my band was working - just my opinion.
Happy belated St. Pat's to you!

Coming up to the 70lb loss mark and considering cutting my hair. Not just a trim but taking it all off. Anyone else cut their hair dramatically after weight loss? If you have pictures would love to see them. This is just a fun chat about what you did to your hair after weight loss. Maybe you died it dramatically or totally change your style. Would love to hear from you.

thisisthenewme got a reaction from call911 in October 2016-Surgery Date. Where are you now?
    RNY Oct 3, 2016 - 66.5lbs gone!

    HW and SW - 292
    CW -225.5

So happy with results - it just seems to be melting off. Dropped calories Sunday from 1300 to 1200 as was slowing down to 1ish a week and lost 3 this week!

I go to the gym about 3-4 times every two weeks, but I chase a 2 year old every night and all weekend!

I was told it takes your stomach 6 months to heal and so they say to at least wait till then. I'm just over 3 months out and had a couple spiced rum and Diet Pepsi over the holidays. No issues with the carbonation, but I definitely felt it sooner. Everyone is different. Listen to your body. Just my two cents

thisisthenewme reacted to JamieLogical in WLS is the easy way out
This one drives me CRAZY. I bet hundreds if not thousands of people DIE every year because the social stigma against WLS deterred them from getting life-saving surgery.
First of all, we all know there is nothing "easy" about WLS. It's weeks/months of misery and recovery and takes a lifetime of commitment and hard work.
Second of all, even if WLS was "easier" than doing it the "hard way", why is that a bad thing? As a society, don't we strive for efficiency? They are always coming up with ways of making every aspect of life quicker and easier. So why is "easy" bad?
Thirdly, it really seems to be a double-standard when it comes to WLS versus other medically necessary surgery. You never hear anyone saying that getting a knee replacement is the "easy way out". "They should just walk it off and fight through the pain." So why is getting surgery to correct other medical issues okay, but WLS is not?

Just wanted to share this amazing bottle with everyone. It's called a Blender Bottle (bought at GNC). Mixes Protein to just the right constancy with no foam like an electric blender produces. I love it!! The special whisk ball does all the work. Great for at work :-)
